Words can't express how thankful I am to you for providing this information. In the last few years Ive been smoking turned extreme vaper. My emotional health has declined massively but more worryingly my skin is in such a state I struggle to get out of bed in the morning because it's broken down and massively dry. I've started the path of quitting, I just hope my health will return. Thank you for all the knowledge you have just imparted..... Mega respect

I quit for 4 months and was ao happy but then relapsed for 4 1/2 months (present day) and the reality of realizing I'm addicted again has really shattered. Decided to quit a few hours ago and I ordered Allen Carr's book and I am watching this video to motivate me -- I am prepared to suffer and go through all of the intense, uncomfortable emotions and sensations that come with quitting. I do not wish to be a slave to something that is killing me any longer.

I've been consuming nicotine products since the age of 15, used to be a cross country runner a swimmer a cyclist, I'm 24 now. I'm scared to find out how bad my cardio system has gotten so i just pump iron. last time I pushed myself I had recurring stabbing sensations in my right lung. :( I've had enough of being dependant on this crap, feeling weak, feeling ill. The beast shall rise again I swear!

Smoking and vaping are absolutely not the same. Lumping them together all the time (especially when talking about carcinogen compounds that are only in the cigarette or the byproduct of the oxidation of the compounds within a cigarette) is false. When will we see dr. Huberman talking about vaping specifically? I am sure he will correct things once he gets in the literature of vaping. To be clear: I am not saying vaping is healthy, nor am I saying that it can't create health problems. I simpy point to the mistake of lumping it together with cigarettes.

I am always looking for hard data on dangers of vaping. This video does not provide any. So far there is no data vaping causes cancer and its been 10 or more years since vaping has been available. Then there is the concern about carcinogens. They provide numbers about the carcinogen in smoking, 7000, 4000, or so. But they never mention the number of carcinogens from vaping. We know its significantly less. But you mean, no study has been done to tell the public exactly the types and levels of carcinogens from the most popular brands of vape pens? Where is the table? Where is the data? If it exists, I can't find it anywhere. A red flag for me was your comparison of vaping nicotine to smoking crack! C'mon, that's over the top.The focus on addiction is one thing, but if the addiction is not harmful, that's important to be honest about. Then the conversation on vaping always focuses on minors, ok fine, but I'm interested on harmful affects on adults. I'm not here to defend vaping, I'm just pointing out the data of harm is not being well presented. And I'm wondering if this is just a bias in the medical community against vaping that has no basis in science.

If someone thinks they can't quite smoking.

I started smoking at age 15 and was smoking a pack (20 ciggies) a day for 11 years. I am clean for the last 2 years.

I cheated for a few times. Smoked a cigarette here and there, when with friends, etc.

BUT

My last cigarette was a 2 months ago. I am enjoying the process of quitting TBH.

Just save yourself the hustle. For 18 years of my life, I smoked 30 every day. I tried every thing to quit, from doctors to nicotine gum and patches, cutting down, and so much more. Every advice and method out there sucks and none of them worked. I hated the fact that cigarettes were enslaving me. I knew it was killing me and I really wanted to quit, but I just couldn't. Every attempt I made to quit ended in failure after weeks of depression. And then one day, I came across this book: "The Easy Way To Stop Smoking" by Allen Carr. I read the book and I quit just like that. It was so easy, I couldn't believe it. What's more difficult to believe is that you can actually smoke while reading it. I smoked my last cigarette 4 years ago and I haven't got the slightest desire to light another Eversense.

What a damaging thing to say, Vaping is similar to Crack cocaine, do you know how many lives are saved by vaping, 20 year vaping is on the market not 1 case of vaping cancer or illness and please dont say EVALI as that is not due to vaping:

It is clear about Nicotine.. But maybe you should talk more about how to give up caffeine and coffee types. Because it is clear that you are addicted to it and you should preach it as the holy grail within the limits, but everything else that is bad is bad.
Addiction to useless stimulants is a big problem in the world - not only nicotine - and coffee with its terrible taste is one of them - if you give it to small children or babies, they will go crazy from its terrible taste and effects - but adults say yes.
Just like opiate addicts-beginners vomit, but users are happy to take a dose.
To be honest, nicotine also has metabolism-enhancing abilities and depression-suppressing properties - that's not bad either, just like the properties of caffeine. Some people like one, some others - but it's strange to get into a discussion about stimulants, sitting on them yourself.
I've been listening to podcasts. And these double standards about coffee and nicotine made me wonder if everything is okay - addiction, as such - what people love and defend or curse

I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Hypersomnia after using Chantix a prescription medication to quit smoking in 2010. I was put on Ritalin (a stimulant) ever since. Using Chantix was a miracle. It was like I had never smoked before! I started smoking at 13 and was about a pack a dayer for 28 years! I wonder if I took nicotine in a pill form maybe I would not need to take prescriptions anymore? Nicotine appears to be much healthier alternative. Do you know how I can purchase nicotine in a pill form? I have been desperately researching why I may be so tired! You have given me hope!

Thank you, Carie

Very informative. I would mention however that one of the side effects of bupropion not mentioned is suicidal tendencies, urges and attempts. I personally was affected by those side effects while taking the medication. It is very serious and while maybe not common, I almost lost my life because of it, twice. So, I think it's worth mentioning.. I listen to many Huberman lab topics and find them to be very informative and thorough. Thank you for what you do.
