Didn't this aircraft loose to the A-10?
ОтветитьSo if America 🇺🇸 didn’t have air defense, they would’ve lost the war
ОтветитьCAS = long loiter time + survivability + lethality
ОтветитьBombs weren't on the wingtips. Dumb.
ОтветитьReminds me of a cross between an A-10 and a Skyraider.
ОтветитьDid the YA-9 ever become a production aircraft?
ОтветитьAt the time the decision was made, the A-10's engine was farther along in development. The peculiar mounting made for less direct paths for ground fire to the engines. There were some problems early in production with the cannon smoke affecting turbine blades. The Projection Unit (PU, aka HUD) went through two combiner upgrades to improve pilot viewing angles. Also built into the PU was a rudimentary target aiming system for use in case of a failure of the main electrical power, another bit of redundancy built into the design. The wheels do not retract into the wing fully, to allow landing in case the landing gear cannot be extended. I tested and aligned scores of PUs where they were manufactured in San Jose.
ОтветитьThere is no such thing as an aircraft that is impossible to take down, just like there is no such thing as an unsinkable ship.
ОтветитьStart the moreover counter
ОтветитьIf the A10 didn't go through Fairchild would cease to exist....so they ponied up the bribe money the politicians would require.
ОтветитьI'm annoyed that the US didn't use those to help defend Ukraine against Russia, yet they used those same assets, and countless others, to defend Kuwait. And that's all despite the fact the UK and US each signed a legally-binding defence pact with Ukraine, but not Kuwait.
Ответитьall that technology against an enemy with out even one aircraft.......
ОтветитьA10 was and is the best aircraft ever made for ground support.
ОтветитьThe precurser to the A 10
Ответитьthe reason the a10 was chosen was because of the fighter mafia bullshit. and bailing out a failing company. not because its a useful aircraft in any reguard.
ОтветитьThe A-10 is a sniper rifle with wings that can also drop a bomb on your head... MERICA
ОтветитьA10......best close air support of all time.
ОтветитьWatching videos like this always makes me wonder... how long until "our" government turns these weapons against American citizens? Don't get me wrong, I ALMOST trust Washington DC.
ОтветитьAir Force finally killed the Hog..they'll all be phased out within 5 years...
ОтветитьIt'll be interesting to see what part the AT802 will play in combat along side the A10
ОтветитьThe YA-9 looks remarkably similar to the SU25 ….
ОтветитьThe first "A10"...
Ответить...it looks like a SU-25 Frogfoot........
ОтветитьAmerican su 25
ОтветитьYou don’t spell out the acronym, it’s just pronounced CAS
ОтветитьA-9 = susceptible tp ground fire on engines, etc
A-10 = moved engines and other electronics up to minimize ground fire damage..
The A9 looks a lot like the frog foot too me
Ответить"IMPOSSIBLE TO TAKE DOWN" WHY does one post such ABSURDLY HYPERBOLIC TITLES ???
Is this a deliberate rehash of the 'Unsinkable Titanic'?
Sorry, but such absurd, clickbait titles earn a THUMBS DOWN.
This looks an awful lot like a Su-25... hmmmmm
ОтветитьOne of my uncles flew a Skyraider off the Coral Sea.
ОтветитьThe American SU-25 Frogfoot
Ответитьit's just a coincidence that the SU25 looks almost exactly like this plane...
Ответить⬆⬇➡➡➡
Ответить❤😂😂🎉🎉🎉😢😮😮😅
Ответить"north vietnamese troop were decimated"... uh, no! they nva and vietcongs were underground. american air raids kill more farmers & children than soldiers
ОтветитьSure looks like the A-10 on paper, same basic idea.
ОтветитьWho else didn’t know this existed until now?
ОтветитьThe Russian FrogFoot was absolutely influenced by the YA-9... The FrogFoot is a design that works and has a couple of irrelevant advantages over the A-10.
ОтветитьLooks a little like a Su-25..🤔🤔
ОтветитьNo YA-9 ever flew over Vietnam.
ОтветитьAs a vet who got to watch the A-10 close up. I'm a fan of how it got there. Extremely thankful for it too
ОтветитьIt's the A 10s mom
ОтветитьFlying artillery
ОтветитьThe YA-9 looks very similar to the Russian frogfoot. Coincidence?
Ответитьthe american frogfoot!
ОтветитьAmerican su-25
ОтветитьYAY! YT's gone back to the old format!! Thank you!
Ответитьnone the less
ОтветитьThe a9 kind of reminds me of a tigercat.
