I have htc U ultra,U11+ and this mi a1,the sound quality through headphones in the mi a1 using poweramp just blew me away, such a strong and clean amplifier.
Best device I've ever usef hands down, clean android, powerfull audio, nice camera ,only thing that bugs me its the high sar value of 1.75. But I guess you have to start your cancer somewhere..:)

they still haven't fixed that god awful camera.. this was my main dissapointment on the xiaomi mi4c when i bought it. i had to search through a lot of camera apps to find one to have decent pictures.

Hi Damir, I have been enjoying watching your informed reviews! I am currently in the market to update my current phone (Nexus 5X). So I am doing a lot of looking! However, in my searching, I am also becoming increasingly frustrated! In order to get LTE here in Australia, I need Band 28. I also hear you mention that some phones you review are missing band 20, which I assume you also require in Germany to get LTE access. So, even though you are reviewing good phones, with fantastic value, I have to keep passing them up due to the lack of Band 28! I very nearly bought the Mi6 based on your recommendation, but without Band 28 it would have been a disappointment to me. It has brought the Oneplus 5/5T back on to my radar! Not sure how you could address that? It may not be an issue that affects a lot of people? I don't know!

here my review about it , the video maybe not that great compared to others but the stock android what make it best , the software very fast, battery also good, bokeh effect easy to use and good enough that it might fool someone that it from iphone., gaming test good no lag on dynasty warrior unleashed. im hoping for camera firmware upgrade that improve more picture quality . i guess this one to buy if you like clean android and mid range price.

Damir, try to get your hands on the Huawei Nova 2s. Seems like a fantastic value for money phone - an improved Honor 8 Pro(with minor exceptions) at a cheaper price, at least from the specifications. That will be an exciting review!

Thanks for the review! I have chosen this one instead of Honor 8 Pro and so far I'm really happy about it! Display looks very nice, hardware is enough as I'm not a heavy gamer though Asphalt 8 goes on highest settings without any lag. Battery: I had even 3 days of it. Camera is on a weeker side, but for this price it is great. Best phone in this price range if You are not 18:9 display lover.

Hi Damir I'm thinking to upgrade my Moto G3 around Christmas and I'm hesitating between Mi A1 and Moto g5 plus or paying little extra and getting the Moto X4.What's your recommendation ?

Does the phone/stock android have a problem with recent apps? Let's say that at the end of the day you would have 8 apps open (not necessarily running, but in recent apps). Next morning I will be can see only the last 4 used apps. This is kind of annoying to me. I would like to choose a few apps that are never removed from recent apps without my input.

I have the Redmi Note 4 Global, which is clone of the 4X. I love the phone but i am totally disappointed with the GPS which is inaccurate and fails to have a good fix. I wonder how the GPS in the Mi A1 is?

People shopping in that price range want the most for their money. It's easy to look past the generic design.

I am really glad that you mentioned about the mi5x running almost exactly the same as mia1. I have the redmi 4x running miui 9 and I cannot see how stock android could be any better. Also I like the themes and customisation options on miui.does this really offer that much more than a redmi note 4 with a snapdragon and global rom and band twenty ? Good marketing.every other reviewer raving on about stock android on this phone like its alot better than miui.

I bought XIAOMI Mi A1 5,5" this weekend, for my sister. I returned it the same day.
Attention - display has a blue tint it is very cold and there is no display option saturation slider in menu as Damir said.
I ordered eventually same phone what I have XIAOMI Redmi 4X 5". This have display saturation slider option: warm, normal, cold and read mode is +warm(yellow) slider. Display on X4 in cold mode was still much less cold than A1. If you want accurate color, not to take this one.

Usual great job. Of course, you get this phone as one of many that is released in Europe. For me, this was an import so, I don't have a lot to compare it with, since I rarely bring in an import. I'm loving the device, so far, though you make very valid points. Totally agree about the INSANE notification level.

I remember I asked you on one of last year's live streams around January - February if you were going to review any chinese phones as I was really looking at the Redmi Note 3 (great phone btw, gotta say MIUI is not bad at all) at the time and you seemed kinda reluctant to do that.
Glad to see that Xiaomi made it this far and you even adopted the Mi6 as your daily driver for a while. Plus, this Xiaomi + androidone partnership is another achievement for them.

Anyway, great phone reviews. I'm not even looking for a new phone, but watching your reviews is always enjoyable. You are the only phone reviewer I religiously follow. By the way, never got to thank you, your Lenovo P2 reviews were a huge inspiration for me when I had to buy a new phone as my RN3's charging port got fried and had to stay in service for 3 months until they fixed it heh. Awesome little beast.

Keep up the great job!

EDIT: I just remembered you switched the Mi6 for the Mi Note 3 as the daily driver.

I don't see how the design being boring is a bad thing. I would much prefer a matte plastic/metal over a flashy fragile glass back, which seems to get increasingly popular nowadays.
