I've used the 243 for plenty of texss whitetail but have hunted with the 6.5 grendel in the ar-15 platform the last 4 years.

We are getting on some new land this year with auodad, axis, and other exotics. I'd love to hear more about the performance of this cartridge on game larger than Texas whitetail.

I can’t believe all these video cowboys claiming hunting with match bullets is fine. Then to claim that ARC is an 800 yard deer rifle these guys should be ran out the air waves. Hunting with match grade bullets is stupid people don’t listen to this clown!

I hunt on public lands because I had to be poor somewhere else. In Texas, on drawn hunts with the TPWD, hunts that allow centerfire rifles spec that you must have at least a .243 W. Which means that 6 mm ARC would be acceptable. Especially in the semi-auto and a suppressor, it is going to feel like a butterfly kiss.

Love the 6mm ARC. The 6.5 Grendel with 102gr Sierra GK is side by side even better.

I jumped off this train with the ELDX. Maybe they perform better in small bullets. I prefer copper in Bond now.

Check out the UPR15 bolt action in 6mm ARC. It's a bolt action upper for a freaking AR! IT IS AWESOME.

Yes a faster barrel twist wouldve been good, but same weight of bullet at the same speed without an AK mag and 70 gr bullets are widely available.

Man, your words on the 6arc are music to my ears. I got to build one, but whoo! For just the cabbage you dropped on that proof cf barrel is not much less than i can put into a complete rifle. I guess my future build will suck.

I put a 24" Bartlein with a Superlative Arms adjustable gas block into an LMT MRP upper. It has been an absolute tack driver with Berger 108s at 600yds

I say the 6.5 Grendel is the all around best cartridge in the AR15 platform.

What twist rate is that 18” proof barrel 1/7 or 1/7.5

I’ve been running a Hodge/Proof 18” SS +1, and a Hodge/CLE Bartlein 12.5” and absolutely love them. Have a Hodge/Centurion 12.5” waiting on glass.

What grain would you use for aoudad ? In a 6mm arc

I have a 5.4 buffer in my 18 inch BA 6ARC. Never had any issues.

300 Hamr takes the cake for Texas hunting in ar15 platform.

I've built a 21" 6ARC using an Odin works barrel and a 16" Geissele MK18 rail(the one with an integrated Arca). With Hornady 108 ELD-ms im shooting .6" at 100 yards. I agree with you, although I don't hunt, but shooting this rig makes me think this is how ARs should be chambered.

I do not doubt that, as long as you hand load your own ammo. There just isn't enough factory loads available.

Built a 16" for coyote hunting last Fall and love it. Light gun with great range.

I came to hear about the cartridge...left after realizing it's an advertisement for a bunch of expensive gun parts.

I built a very similar Arc with Odin Works parts and have been very pleased. I am still testing loads with it and so far it likes the 87grn Vmax shooting 1/2-3/4 Moa. But I would love to save that time and just buy ammo off a shelf or retailer like Ally. Hopefully y"all can those out soon.

no WAY man is a 6mm arc okay for hogs. javelina maybe but ive seen dozens of male hogs run off with .308 round stuck in their fat layer. i no longer think that .308 is acceptable for hogs now because of how many times ive seen its firsthand. 45-70 is my go to for hogs, zero chance in hell is 6mm going to cut it, on their piglets maybe, definitely not full grown.

Great info.guys. I've desided to try my hand at building a "one and done" lightweight ar15 in 6arc I was going to go with a 16" carbon barrel, with a Back Country suppressor. What are your thoughts on the 16" and what twist rate would you recommend? This will be my night hunting rig with thermal so 300ish yards and in. I do my own load development.

Built my own 6ARC around an 18" Proof Research Carbon wrapped barrel.. it shoots amazingly well... 95 grain Berger Classic Hunters work exceptionally well in accuracy and terminal perfomance out of this set up.
