Adding to the other things I mentioned, at this point it looks like they are not letting you edit off of external SSD's... :(
ОтветитьWow ❤
ОтветитьAnyone here buy the app aperture back in the day?
ОтветитьI hope they fix this issue after many of us complain about it where you can swap video between both iMac and iPad. 🤓
ОтветитьI am super excited about this. I will definitely make use of the feature to draw with the Apple Pencil as an animation. I can't wait for that.
ОтветитьNo external SSD editing? Even though Davinci Resolve and LumaFusion have no problem with external drives? Why is Apple constantly the lover who just has to screw up something in their relationship with you?
ОтветитьI think the fundamental of using the ipad pro M1 / M2 to edit is still going to boil down with the port supported. I lately had my SD card corrupted while trying to transfer files to iPad while I am in Japan. It frustrates me and some of my clips got over written and I could not get it back. iPad really need a proper build in eject system / allowing user to format the SD card/SSD/HDD on the fly. I love my iPad, but bcos of the iPadOS I don't love it anymore even with the FCPX coming tomorrow 23rd May.
ОтветитьThat drawing feature is so useful!
ОтветитьSubscription = Cashcow 🤮
ОтветитьThe fact that you need an M1 or M2 is a dealbreaker right away - the fact that they will probably continually tie the use of Final Cut or Logic to iPad hardware is another dealbreaker. Will the next update *that you PAID FOR with a SUB - be supported only on the M3 iPad??? requiring you to buy ANOTHER iPad - NEXT YEAR. the SUB - ANOTHER deal breaker. Third party content - cool - every third party maker will now need to focus dev time and hours to THIS - essentially an entire NEW APP - that the plugins WILL NOT work for BOTH - so you will be stuck buying MOTIONVFX plugins for BOTH the iPad AND the Mac which will get costly QUICK....yet - another - DEAL BREAKER. You cant go back and fourth between projects??? So to sum up - You need a new machine if you don't have an M1 iPad - which costs as much as a laptop that can run FULL FINAL CUT PRO - you then need to continually pay for it and hope you new machine will continue to support it - you need to buy all new plugins - and learn essentially a new interface - and you cant round trip projects with FINAL CUT - so really - THIS IS NOT FINAL CUT!!! ITs a whole new app! that devs will need to support to even make it good and you will have to BUY all those plugins! Sorry no thanks.
ОтветитьI have a Bias FX 2 app that I paid in full so I thought I could use it anytime anywhere, wrong. I have to check in with my password to use it. I could not use it at all at a live jam. I had to find WI-FI some where. I was not going to ask my friends at the jam space what their WI-FI was. So I used my GE-labs & Thu. Not what I wanted but it worked.
ОтветитьHaving to rent software for devices, you already paid for is a disgusting money grab especially for customers who already bought multiple devices and who already bought the paid for versions of these programs.
Sorry, but unless they're including a rental of the device with the five dollar subscription fee for the software, I'm boycotting this product
LumaFusion ✅
ОтветитьI already upgraded to a 12.9” M2 iPad Pro in anticipation of FCPiPad, several months ago.
ОтветитьLumafusion is still the king!😇
ОтветитьI think I will never experience this, because to me my phone numbers and Apple One is just enough subscription payment. I have those apps on mac too.
ОтветитьAdobe is also using the same subscription based package now. In the past it was a 1 time purchase
ОтветитьIn typical iPad “Pro app” fashion, it’ll be just a watered down version of the mac app, and you’ll have to deal with iPadOS’s terrible file and window management to accomplish anything remotely similar to the mac app.
ОтветитьA good excuse to upgrade to a M2 iPad and give this a12 to the wife
ОтветитьIf not already on the iPad I’d like to see Adobe Firefly on this device 🤞🏾
ОтветитьSpokane!!
ОтветитьThey KILLED It! "Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro for iPad will each be available on the App Store for $4.99 (US) per month or $49 (US) per year with a one-month free trial". $50 a year! No Way!!!! I just canceled my Adobe subscription because I was tired of paying over $60 a month for software I only used for one client. All the others, I use FCP or Resolve Studio both of which I have paid $300, ONCE. I will stick for travel FCP using my trusty MacBook Air M1 which I already own. Even though I have a iPad Pro M2, I can always use Resolve on it as it was a free download. Hope it stays that way.
ОтветитьContinuity camera to iPhone pro would be great
ОтветитьMan, it’s the price of a coffee what is everybody getting so worked up about?
ОтветитьUGG!, yet another subscription. Love having these on the iPad but adding one more sub to my existing 30+ monthly subs is really starting to add up quick. At least give us the option for a perpetual license. The 4.99 thing is just Apple testing the waters to see how sick of Subs everyone is. They will raise the price once the user base is established.
ОтветитьI'm so tired of hearing "It's only $5".
HOW MANY $5 subscriptions are we supposed to pay? iCloud alone is getting expensive for the number of Apple devices I support. Drawing the line, not a single new subscription. Pay once or I'm out.
Gonna wait fir the next pro to come out next year. My A14 air still has juice! Will be getting Logic on day one though!!
ОтветитьIf good and updated royalty free music and sound effects are included, the monthly price is ok for me. It is actually cheaper than Epidemic sound and Artlist!
Ответитьgreat video thanks
ОтветитьNope, not buying a subscription. Having been keen on iPads since the first one, the ‘subscription’ model means I’ll be biasing the MacBook and or biasing da Vinci resolve either way. I left adobe due to subscription - there are equally good or even better options out there - could that become true for apple as well?
ОтветитьI've been a professional video editor for over 20 years and I can honestly say I've never once wished I could edit on an 11" screen. I rarely edited on my 13" MBP without using an external monitor. And without external SSD support FCP on an iPad makes even less sense. You can buy a 13" MBP with 16GB/2TB for less than a 12.9" iPad Pro with same specs and keyboard.
ОтветитьNot my area of expertise, video editing, I just know we already have DaVinci and Lumafusion, which is a reasonable bar. Does anyone else feel they want to live in the world portrayed in corporate ads? You know, where only tasks your software is perfectly able to accomplish, come along?! Like, if you only had a 3-foot long shovel, you’d have an orderly line of people needing half-sized trenches digging…! Thanks for the run-down, take care all.
ОтветитьApple basically dropped them just before Google IO to keep the attention away from google because they know any update from Apple is worth more than any other company. You can't even get them now! Its just for the sake of keeping their relevancy until WWDC
ОтветитьI have slowly been cancelling subscriptions and I’m thinking I won’t be subbing to this… it’s getting out of hand all over the place everyone wants a sub…. I would rather just pay for DaVinci
ОтветитьI think the early release of the FCP iPad app is less about the app and more about preparing us for a FCP desktop subscription that is coming down the pike. This will lessen the shock coming in June… Then they will give us a bundle price that will make us feel that we are getting a deal...
ОтветитьOnly for pro model ipads which is completely stupid.
ОтветитьImagine apple made a iPhone fold that could run Final cut... that would be the ultimate filmmaker device.
ОтветитьThis reminds me of final cut express and logic express from back in the day
ОтветитьSo you have to have a Mac to use the iPad version, you just can’t use the iPad version alone??
ОтветитьOne major reason why the Mac version of FCP has lost its position of the number one editing platform for Tv shows, and a top contender for movies is because Apple has chosen not to continue to update the product with major new features to compete with Avid and others. They had Avid in the run at one point. But the they gave Motion away for free, previously $1,000, gave other software for free, dropped the Final Cut Studio name and dropped the price to $1,000. Then dropped it to $300 with free upgrades. That’s was great for single amateurs and semi pros. But it’s also when Apple stopped adding major features. It’s now lost much of its market in high end areas.
So now they’re going for the Tic Toc crowd. This is aimed there as well. But with subscriptions, hopefully with that continuing revenue they’ll keep making substantial improvements over the years.
It’s amazing how cheap so many people are.
Will iPad air M1 get them too? That'd be epic.
ОтветитьIm confused about wether I can use FC on my baseline m1 ipad 2020? Camt afford a ipad pro for one feature, especially when you have to pay for more storage.
ОтветитьBlackmagic Design: (Rolls out FREE DaVinci Resolve for iPad with full desktop version projects compatibility and even cloud project library synchronization plus ability to work with external storages, even network ones).
Apple: Oh, you can't get projects compatibility in FCP. And forget to mention - there's no free option at all and no one-time purchase, subscription only. And no external storage comparability (at least at this point). Please use FCP, it's so professional!
we need a new ipad pro 14!
ОтветитьI'm honestly just hoping if they see the subscription model taking off that they don't turn the full versions subscription only also.
ОтветитьGonna grab an M2 just for FCP perfect way to start edits with clients in the field 😮
