watching this video in 2023 after the release of Killers of the Flower Moon it feels so weird to see Lily Gladstone on a CrashCourse Video.
ОтветитьIt’s interesting to note that Steven Spielberg never went to film school either, as he was initially rejected from attending USC (his dream school @ the time) He then ended up attending CSULB (Cal State Long Beach) and took photography classes before getting hired by Universal to direct an episode of Rod Serling’s old “Night Gallery” series from the 60s, later followed by a 1971 made-for-TV movie called “DUEL” 😈 And the rest, as they say, was history… 👍👌😎
ОтветитьThis velvet voiced presenter is superb, explains well in calming yet reassuring manor.
ОтветитьI'm a junior in high school and i personally am interested in the legal field. But I'm not the biggest fan of reading and my parents told me to look at an alternative to that.
I e considered the film making industry because i like the history of film production, how movie cameras work, famous movie fun facts, etc.
I'm also decent at animating and I'm currently in the process of creating an "analogue horror" (a type of horror genre that uses vintage VHS videos, eerie music, and uncanny voices all put together). series. I'm currently learning how to use Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve for this. I'm pretty proud of my work and happy that I'm doing something creative instead of an uncreative activity.
Anyway, without my blabber lol do you guys think that i might find film making interesting or enjoy it with the current things I'm working on? Thanks so much and have a terrific day!
Seeing the way film school students talk about movies made me realize I don't want to attend film school.
If you can't appreciate a well-crafted spectacle movie because it doesn't have the subtlety of Bergman, technique of Kurosawa, or go out of its way to film entirely during golden hour, then it's not film you love, it's film uniqueness.
What the hell is even this video?
ОтветитьProud NYU alum <3
ОтветитьPeople binge series like Brooklyn Nine-Nine or Game of thrones, I binge Film Production Crash Coarse😍😍 Thank you Crash Coarse and specially Lily Gladstone for making this wonderful tutorial coarse.
Ответитьmy dream is to go to film school at UCLA
ОтветитьI'm not gonna lie... I thought the guy in the thumbnail was John Oliver
ОтветитьWhy is Tarantino not mentioned in this video. Even he didn't go to film school.
ОтветитьWhat do they call the guy who was bottom of his class at Medical School?
Doctor.
Does it matter what film school you go to?
ОтветитьYou’re telling me this now that I’m finishing my degree?
ОтветитьCameron did go to college to learn how to do SFX.
ОтветитьYou can also take film classes in community college, or, if you're under 14, you can research technical high schools and find one that offers Digital Media. That's where I learned how to make a film and create news packages (stories).
ОтветитьI moved to the US recently to pursue a film career. My initial plan was to get a job that had ridiculous hours that would give me 3-4 days a week to fund and focus on my shorts that I would submit to film festivals. Then over the years I would eventually gain enough awards, probably made friends in the industry and done networking and stuff and eventually maybe get an opportunity to work in Hollywood. After I arrived I got a job that gave me the free time I needed, but then actually finding people to make films with proved to be impossible as people had their own lives to attend to and noone's schedule would ever match up. So now I am considering going to film school because then I would be placed in an environment with likeminded people that have the time, skills and motivation to make films. Then I came up with another plan, I could move to LA, the holy city of filmmaking and try to do the same approach with gaining reputation and a network, only problem is that LA is expensive to live in...
ОтветитьVery useful
ОтветитьA very well made video, regardless of your conclusions. Well written, informed and structured. Thank you.

The rich don't teach u how to be rich , they just share there experience .
Well good luck to everyone who wants to go film school.

ОтветитьI'm in love with this woman
Ответитьi'm terrified
ОтветитьI'm from Philippines and I do really love making film but the problem is there's no film school here.
ОтветитьYou are Fast ,,,
ОтветитьOk
ОтветитьSo you're really not gonna name Steven Spielberg, the greatest director of all time as an example of a director who did not go to film school.
ОтветитьPersonally, I had a quite bad experience in film school that made me hate the field. It doesn't mean it will happen to you, but think a lot before deciding to take that path. I do not regret a bit, I have learned so much, but right now, not sure I am going to work in this industry.
ОтветитьIf you want to be great director go to film school or if you want to be a greatest director go to films.
Ответитьgood
ОтветитьWhat if I want to be a doctor and work in films?
ОтветитьYou should mention College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas. If you want to know what we have done just look up the number of Student Emmy Award winners we have had in the last three years. We do what other film schools won’t!
Ответитьthis is dope I like it!!! sub? 🤨
ОтветитьIm only going to film school to learn video editing is that a bad thing?p
Ответитьi wanna be a video editor, is this the right choice for me?
ОтветитьTo me I think film school is not worth it...I took a break from film school to start working as a PA. So far I worked on two TV shows shot in New York City. My network in connecting with Key PA's have really payed off. I usually find out what TV/Movie productions are shooting in the NYC area. I usually take trips out to these film sets and ask crew members if the Key PA is around, so I can talk to them about getting work. If you live in either NY or LA I recommend using this method. It's really helpful.
Ответитьthis woman has a great voice.
ОтветитьThis videos is the most helpful video I have ever come across 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿
