Very cool video man
ОтветитьI am very impressed on the process and knowledge to make that long bow. I have worked with wood in my life, in the construction business, residential , framing houses and other related trades connected. I used to own, compound bows, and experimented when I was a kid on making a bow but really did not know what I was doing. What was that stuff you brushed on the ends of the staves before it dried for a few months in the early part of the video? I noticed also that you made 4 equal sections in the beginning, instead of just one particular diameter for a single bow. You have a fully stocked workshop which helps, clamps, that 4 by 4 to be used to strretch . This could be invaluable in times of when things go full primitive, of course there are certain survival tools you should always carry for survival in the wilderness. Maybe in the bugout bag, a few like a hatchet (axe) multi-tool, and many others. I like cross-bows as well, the convenience of aiming like a rifle but quiet. Can you make a cross-bow as well? They were used in medieval times a lot. Very informative video
ОтветитьLevi you lame.
ОтветитьHeya mr. Ive just recently built a juniper long bow and Im getting some extra set to limbs from being a bit green wood. You think theyre bendable back to straight with heat/steam?
ОтветитьViking versus mongol who win?
ОтветитьI just bought a Bickerstaffe flatbow - pyramid bow - trilaminate hickory, purple heart, lemon wood.
ОтветитьI know I’m late to the party but what if you don’t hate a tool to bent the bow? 😅
ОтветитьThank you.
ОтветитьCool but it would have helped some if you had explained some of the steps .
ОтветитьDo you do anything in Norwegian?
ОтветитьBeautiful work. You are always an inspiration.
ОтветитьGreat bow Bjorn! What kind of wood did you use? Love the music! 👌🙌
ОтветитьLet me show you it's features :))
ОтветитьWe're I'm from we make it out of Osage. Thanks for sharing brother 👊
ОтветитьCool bow Bjorn!
ОтветитьThat's a great skill to have. Looks very satisfying too. I'm going to have to do that. I have a compound bow but when SHTF it is going to be kinda hard to get steel cable and pulleys out of a tree... Heh.
Ответитьi only been bow for the 5 years now, but this year came with a problem, question what type of tree wood handle the extreme cold
Ответитьi use the same wood to my bow and my snow shooses
ОтветитьStunning. I used to have a long bow it had a 17 pound pull I’m older but my son lost it. One day hope to find another. That was beautiful. So lucky you can make them
ОтветитьQuestion? When you are marking the pulled stave are you looking for heavy points that are keeping it from bending evenly? Thank you. Eve
ОтветитьI used to shoot bows back in the day, I live in the Netherlands, bud as soon as you go shoot outside, lets say a forrest, people get scared, and call police...while I am shooting there without seeing a person for 2 hours, so its on hold now....for 12 years....
ОтветитьThis is the kind of stuff i love, also your garment videos. No wonder you wrote books about this. I'll be checking out Jomsviking while on holiday!
Kan en bruke linolje på piler for å bevare dem lengre?
God shadow banned from your channel once again, Bjorn . Just logged back on today
ОтветитьA man of many talents 👍
ОтветитьHello, I just got my husband watching your channel as well now. He was born and raised in Alaska. His grandfather was written about in a book about bushcraft. He was the only dr. For miles. We also follow the Norse spiritual path, as well as druid, as I’m celtic, but my husband has Very strong Norwegian dna. We both came from farmers, and ranchers. So we enjoy a more natural way of life. We absolutely enjoy what you have to share in all your videos. I just wanted to let you know what you have to share is valued in its truth, and creativity.
ОтветитьBeautiful. You and the Bow
Ответитьfascinating
ОтветитьCan I ask
Does any type of wood work?
damn those crafty vikings had quite the toolkit
ОтветитьWhat kind of wood is it made of?
ОтветитьHow long do you leave the wood to dry and does this not cause an issue while bending and stringing the bow? This is brilliant to watch..
ОтветитьWhat kind of wood?
ОтветитьI liked the break down take apart bow , easier to carry with gear when covering ground , and is easier to get through the heavy brush in some places , but it’s nice to learn all the steps , for when in need
ОтветитьHello Bjorn! I'm from Brazil 🇧🇷 and liked this video. Could you tell me what specie of wood you used there? I want to find that tree around my home. Also, do you other good wood in cold regions for making weapons and tools? Thanks in advance.
ОтветитьWhat's the little steel scraper thing you're using? I've seen them used for this a bunch but I don't know what it is.
ОтветитьPeople subscribe and keep up with the latest...they rarely go back to older videos..I think that is the trend...anyway this one I never watched..excellent..😎👍
ОтветитьBrilliant Bjorn
ОтветитьThank You ! !
Ответитьdo you have any step by step instructions on how to make bows?
ОтветитьI just buy one ..lol
ОтветитьWhat is the white iron flat thing?
Out of what is the string made?
That's so cool
ОтветитьWoow amazing work Bjorn 🙏
ОтветитьWhat wood was the tree?
ОтветитьThat is awesome, and Beautifully done I might add.
ОтветитьIt's beautiful!!! 👍👍
ОтветитьHello regarding the tool that you used to “pull” the bow. Was that something you made? I have a piece of wood that has been partly prepared to be a bow but I has a log ways to go. I thoroughly enjoyed this video and I guess I will refer to again and again many thanks jennifree
ОтветитьSuperb work, Bjorn. Loved watching this. Greetings from Australia 👍🇦🇺
