Cringe.

I don't think I would have it in me to just stand and watch Marlene fall when there are plenty of other people who can run up to try and save her. Like only two people went to save them.

I think the actors in this movie were incredible. I could practically feel the pain and guilt radiating off of Tris.

However, I do have a bone to pick with the script’s writers. First of all, why wasn’t this scene in the middle of the night, like the original book? Someone could have saved Marlene here (it makes no sense that someone didn’t), but nobody could have saved her if everyone except Tris, Christina (she was not in the sim in the book), and the three simulation-controlled people were asleep.
There are several other instances throughout the movies that don’t make sense, like adding in Jeanine in the Sim-controlled Tobias vs Tris scene. I get that it’s to make it more dramatic, but I feel like trying to make it more dramatic made it less reasonable in some cases, and eventually led down a path almost completely different from the original Divergent Trilogy.

Four: Oh no the blonde is 2 feet away from the ground let me step an inch before she plops to the ground

There are more things wrong with this scene than there are atoms in the universe

This is why this movie is stupid. In the books this scene happens at night when nobody’s around on the roof of a super tall building. Here, everyone is there to see it and there’s like 100 ppl JUST STANDING THERE DOING NOTHING. And the fall is only like 40 feet. All of them could’ve formed like a net with their hands and broken the fall. It was so simple. Why were they all just standing there doing nothing!! 😭😭😂😂

i hate how they changed it to "hand over tris prior" instead of just hand over a divergent- it made it not seem AS selfless in my opinion. in the book it said to hand over a divergent and tris decided it was her that needed to do it. idk i just liked the book more

All these people saying the crowd should of caught her or Tobias could have caught her, you try catching a over 100 pound body moving 60 miles per hour and you see if you survive or don’t get injured. Hmmm doesn’t sound very promising does it, but I do agree where the crowd could’ve made the ground a little softer or safer.

Personally I loved Marlene in the book, and the fact that the movie didn't even bother to show her friendship with Tris really pisses me off.

I wish they had more scenes that fleshed out Marlene and Uriah
