Roland MC-707 GROOVEBOX Video Manual Part One: The Basics

Здравствуйте! Купил года два назад MC-707, и вот только месяца два назад решил его начать использовать, и, - О, Господи, - какой же он, оказывается, тяжелый в освоении! Пересмотрел за это время кучу видосов в ютюбе, но понял не так уж и много.. Подскажите, ради бога, - как я могу загрузить в эту коробку свой изначально взятый музыкальный трек (аудио-дорожку), чтобы после этого сделать здесь с ним всякие эффекты, получив в итоге некий интересный микс, - и второе, - как я могу потом вывести этот готовый микс в виде файла и сохранить его на компьютере!? Заранее благодарю, если ответите!

Please add a way to save chord presets. It could be easily done. Its so hard to program your chord pads and then lose it on another project.

the amount of data that you can load up as loops is sooooooo limited on this one, don't consider this device for your live performances. It just let me load 5 loops, most of them were 2 bars long and a couple of them were 8 and then it couldn't load anything else. hello 2023

And in case you're wondering why with Firmware 1.81 your external MIDI gear doesn't do bank changes properly: When you're in the clip's MIDI settings tab and set MSB and LSB, then press ENTER on the program change number, everything works fine. The trouble is that when the clip is played, it sends the MSB as the LSB and the LSB as the MSB so it doesn't work. You can decide: Either it works in the MIDI tab, OR it works when you play back the clip. Yes, you need to enter whatever the MSB is in the LSB field and whatever the LSB is in the MSB field and THEN it'll work, you get a bank change when the clip starts playing. Dear Roland, it's just a tad bit embarrassing, but please figure this one out. Sadly there's no backwards-compatible fix for a SNAFU like that, but it should still be fixed even if those of us who figured it out then have to change our projects again. 😞

I don't get it. Everybody's tripping out over a Hydrasynth and Iridium for deep modulation capabilities, but this thing's got 8 assignable LFOs (2 LFO's per oscillator),12 envelopes (3 per oscillator...filter, amp and pitch) with a full-on 8 stereo track 64 step sequencer, 128 clips per track, 4-stage velocity sensitive pads, 3000 preset sounds, a sampler, card slot expansion for more user sounds and 90 different track multi effects with master send reverb and delay FX that can fit into a backpack. Now, I know the MC-707 is not the 'end all be all' compared to the MPC One, Deluge, Arturia Brutes & Freaks, SP-404 MKII and Elektron boxes, but daaamn, that is an insane amount of sound design power in ONE box!

Where oh where do you set/assign what external controls control SYS-CNTRL[1-4]? Can't find it anywhere...

Cool groovebox! But can it be connected to midi software through a computer? And if so, how?

That chord feature is great but it would be great to be able to just input chords with more than 4 notes, directly from playing a Midi keyboard.

All three parts of this tutorial are fantastic, I have been daunted by learning this device for some time for no reason, the tutorials helped me fully breakdown the device in a matter of days, Which is quick for me.

why on earth did roland design this such that you cant see the selected sample on each track?? It defaults to the last sample selected only, not the sample on the track as it exists in the library

very important update for 2.0! if you have several drum tracks in one project, and you programm lets say the kick on track 1 on the bottom left pad. switch to track 2 and programm the cowbell top right pad. stwitch back to track 1 to add another kick, the top right pad of that track is selected instead of the kick. so i have to go and hold down the note button and klick on the bottom left pad to get the kick again to programm it on the fly, now if i switch back to track 2, again the same problem. maybe add a "catch" for the pads aswell so the last used pad on that track is active if you switch to it. would make things so much easier.. thanks

when we copy a pad, it's logic it should bring the step sequence but it's not, it only brings the properties of the pad when we hit func+arrow up and then arrow down. How can we copy the step sequence? or do we have to play again or do the sequence again? thank you

Don't know if questions still get answered here, but is it possible, that notes do NOT get cut, which overlap between patterns/clips, or overlap from last step to first? thank you!

It would be so cool, if there was a "automatic random ghost notes" function (drummers know, what ghost notes are)

these videos are more up to date than the manual, can you add more of these videos for the new functions and maybe even a deeper dive into the drum and sound editing with choosing multiple sounds per pad and using the matrix with the syscontrols please. or update the manual witht he new functions and more information about how to edit the sound. thx

Have you understood how the "scene chains" function works? I did not understand whether it is possible to save a scene as a set of clips and then call them in a chain without specifying the next clip number inside the clip.

Is there an option to make notes/pads in tonetrack microtonal, so you can make real arabic, iranian, indian etc scales?
