Im dieing right now! Nasty ear infection from using headphones for 6h straight

Its funny you say that, In summer 2017 i had ear buds in my ear while i was mowing in the hot florida summer. I took them out and used my finger to get the sweat out of my ears that was impeding the sound. I evidently scratched it inside of my ear with that that caused an ear infection, It the caused a hole in my eardrum and the Bacterial infection traveled to my brain and blood stream. I was put in a medically induced coma, life support, two brain surgeries for shunts and drains in my head, as well as feeding tubes, trachs, and a host of other surgeries to keep me alive. I was in brain icu for a month followed by 2 months of rehab hospitals and 6 months of outpatient rehab to learn to walk again. Earbuds are bad. everytime you put them in your ear you don't know what else you are putting in there. I have pictures,Mri images and other records from this time. Its fascinating, that something so mundane as wiping sweat out of your ears can almost take you life. It also makes you appreciate life too and how fragile it truly is.

Headphones are less danger but using it for long time make outer ears sweat and create a uncomfortable situation force us to remove the headphones

I'm a little disappointed with his description of tinnitus. Ringing in the ears is only one type. You can get other sounds, as I do. People saying it's a ringing in the ears means many people don't get checked for it or helped. I expected better from an expert. Videos like these are a great opportunity to depart that information and help people. Not just a missed opportunity but actually contributing to the problem

Competitive swimmer here. Please try to limit the use of earphones. I've had swimmer's ear many times and I can guarantee that banging your head repeatedly on the wall is a lot better than it. Your ear hurts every time you move.

Appreciate the truthfulness on the harms of earbuds and q-tips. Never liked earbuds that poke inside ears. That said, the over-ear ones also heat up / moisten one's ears pretty fast...
Any ideas on how to remove a tiny rubber "earbud cover" from the ear canal yourself - thanks?

If someone actually ready comment on 2023 literally just wear earbuds, earphones (not gaming one) and TWS just use in car,alone or maybe stay away from any interaction when wearing them to avoid this problem of infection
But if you want to listen to music or song just use headphones (normal one or at least the one doesn't rest on top of your head to prevent from flat top head)

I work at a plastic plant filled with extremely loud machines and we have to wear earplugs. I've had my share of ear infections in swimmer ear. 14-hour shifts sweating all day long! Non-stop hustling!

The only problem i have is my ear wax going to the earbud's hole and covers it with wax. Happens a few times already and almost impossible to clean without ruining the earbud's filter.
