❤ thx for this 🙏✌️
ОтветитьAll you need is sand, peatmoss and pummice. Fertilizer for nutrients.
ОтветитьIs there a premade soil mix that you recommend that I can find on Amazon?
ОтветитьHow often do you water? I know the stick method and the 2 inch dry method... but my pants always feel try and had a clean stick even after I drown it and soak it for 30 minutes.. next day it's dry...
ОтветитьSoil development took me from a struggling houseplant mama to a prop queen. Helps me to think about how they’d grow outside - it’s not a solid brick of pure black dirt. Those root systems are working around rocks and sticks and all that.
ОтветитьQuestion. Have u ever got a bag of potting soil with actually Rocks in it? Have I been out of the loop too long and this is a new thing? Or did the suppliers toss the rocks in to cheat the weight?
ОтветитьWhere did you get that shelf😩😩😩
ОтветитьId repot my succulent babies seeing as the soil def needs some better drainage but they're still baby buds on the mother leaf rn
ОтветитьLoved this one!
Do you think it's worthwhile to purchase the soil as well draining or to build it with potting mix and amending from there?
Importent video
ОтветитьNow I want to repot all of my plants
ОтветитьAre there any types of house plants that I don’t want to drain?
ОтветитьMe, who just repotted her new succulents in regular potting soil 😁🔫
Ответить@plantswithkrystal will the 3rd mix be good for all house plants? Spider, pothos , arrowhead, dumb cane.. sigh. I have a lot of plants..
ОтветитьRoot rot and overwatering scares me so much. Like I'd rather wait for my plants to droop and get very thirsty before I water lol
ОтветитьSo I love plants and new to ur channel. My kitty loves to eat all mine so I have to stash them high lol. I almost killed them all this winter. My bathroom has no vent for heat so they got cold as F. So trying to bring them back to life I started you tube. I’ve watched A LOt of channels but NOBODY described the soil thing like u did. I totally get it now. Never knew that. How u shared that was perfect. Thank u. Now I have random buckets trying to collect rain water lol. I’m a mess I know. But I’m learning
ОтветитьHow do you prevent gnats in soil like this that contains bark etc that they love to feed on? I just switched to an indoor potting mix but it doesn’t have any bark etc that gnats like but now watching this I’m concerned it’s not going to drain as well! I tried gnat barrier pumice on top of my soil but every time I water the plants it moves so don’t think it’s working as well as a barrier as I’d hoped it would.
ОтветитьWill it upset my plants to switch them to better draining soil? My polka dot begonia is precious to me and I would never want to do anything to lose it.
ОтветитьThanks hun 🌵🌱💚🌿
ОтветитьDo you use well draining soil for all plants?
ОтветитьWhat do you mean by "amendment" in this video?
ОтветитьThis is so helpful. The first ad/discount code ive ever used lol
ОтветитьI am so grateful that I found you!!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. 👍🏻🫶🏻💜
ОтветитьWow I’ve owned houseplants for like 3 years now and never realized that all my plants def need a better draining soil mix
Thank you for this!!
I found the video 📹 very informative 👍 👏.
ОтветитьThis is soooooo helpful thank you
ОтветитьThank you!! So simple but I didn't know this!!
ОтветитьI just made my own mix for the first time. I mixed 1 part peat moss + 1 part perlite + 2 parts orchid bark. I’ve been looking after my plants successfully for several years and I’ve only recently learned the indoor potting mix as is not best for plants without amendments. I’m slowly repotting all my plants in the new mix. Can’t wait to see them thrive. 😁
ОтветитьIs there a "magic" mix when adding permits? (Example: 2 parts potting soil to 1 part perlite)
Ответитьthank you so much for this video and the soil mix descriptions!! my houseplants say thank you too!
ОтветитьI love baby Pablo! I wish I'd found you five years ago when all of this was so new to me and my home just seemed like a plant cemetery lol. You explain everything in layman's terms which is so helpful.
ОтветитьHow much of each amendment should we add to the soil? I’ll be using the perlite and orchid bark. I need to redo ALLLL my plants 😫
ОтветитьI have a question! My Hoya australis baby got damaged in a freak accident (window blew inwards during a storm). She had three stems, but now only has two. 😭 Should I downsize her from a 5" pot to a 3 or 4" one until she bounces back?
ОтветитьThe soil in my Monsters Peru is so freaking well draining. I broke up coconut shells I got from the store and put them in
ОтветитьMy dracena needs help! One came died from rot. What kind of mix do I need to save the last remaining cane?
ОтветитьI use fish gravel as perlite
ОтветитьI genuinely have no idea where to get things like perlite and orchid bark. Dont think I've ever found either in any garden centre I've been to, I dont even know if it would be easy or cheap to get online. Generally looks like something used in america cause even in all the gardening shows I've seen in the uk they never make any mention of those things, think at most I've just heard the "gardening experts" suggest rocks or pebbles in the soil
ОтветитьWait wait wait …. So should I mix #3 soil with a little bit of #2 for my monstera ? Repotted her in soil with a lot more perlite and she’s unhappy with me….
ОтветитьDo you have any kind of advise for Venus fly traps? I want to start a mini collection of bug eating plants
ОтветитьBut the issue I have then is that when summer comes around everything dries out every freaking day 😅
What should I do to avoid that?
You know what girl, you need to formulate your potting mix “recipe” and market it! Seriously! Start your own business! Start your commercial like this: “Are your houseplants dying for better soil? YEAH they are! Literally! Switch to “Krystal Earth” and watch your plants thrive!” 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
ОтветитьI made a “cactus” mix that I use for my Hoyas and it’s a cactus potting mix that I add bark, perlite, pumice, charcoal and worm castings to. It’s not as chunky as some peoples hoya mixes but my plants seem to love it
ОтветитьCould we use Cacti mix as a well draining mic ?
ОтветитьPablo is adorable 😍
ОтветитьI honestly had no idea. thank you.
ОтветитьBut with the 2nd and 3rd mix…. Does that mean you’re constantly having to water your plants? I imagine this would be a good mix for succulents etc (the 3rd mix) but what about pothos, philodendron etc
ОтветитьShare tips on grow light please! 😊
ОтветитьThank you so much for that information I was looking for that.
ОтветитьKrystal, love your channel and you!! Great advice! I just purchased orchid mix and have repotted a couple of plants with a potting mix heavy with orchid mix in with regular potting soil. I hate to water too much and I hope this will correct the problem. ❤❤
