Buy only what you have cash on hand. Buy a car 1500 cash. Put 500 per month you would have paid in payments. Drive that cheap car until the tires fall off. In only 1 year you will have 6 grand. Over time have cash to buy brand new and no psyments

Advice on a 2023 used or new F150 Raptor R purchase in 2024…or on a new (maybe used) 2024 Raptor R with refresh in mind?

Excellent data and well presented. I have a question. I am in the market for a used 2500 Dodge Ram Truck. I could pay cash but I am also considering financing. The best rate I've been quoted from my credit union is 7.99% for 12-72 months. If you are wondering our credit score is top-tier and then some. I realize no one has a crystal ball but what would be your interest rate expectations (all things considered) regarding used car loans over the next 12 months. Thank you and keep up the good work!

53 years of selling. My present 2 cars are a 2010 Ford Flex, 266,000 miles, 1 water pump repair, $880.00. The other is a 2002 Ford F150, 381,000 miles, 1 fuel pump replace. Service your cars.

Just bought my Infiniti off lease $20,000 (45k miles) over $60,000 for the new model (no advancements) I’ll keep it till the warranty runs out. A couple of years without payments will hold me over nicely till ready for an upgrade.

Honda dealership now have a hassle free price. They refuse to negotiate and won't even budge over $1! This is plastered on their website and at their sales desks. This makes it impossible for negotiations to happen.

haven't seen prices changing at all in the southwest, more inventory but sure as hale isn't a buyer market, nope, if it they are not budging in the southwest, i'v been looking pretty much every day for 5 years now, I watched it go up and go crazy, then the interest rate climb, but yet to see the asking prices come down, they still want to sell a 5yr old truck with 135,000 miles on it for $39k, basically the asking price when new, in some cases MORE then... I amnot seeing it budge, this is used pricing..

Cool video guys… The incoming spring/tax season is going to push used prices right back up especially in the $20k and under segment. It always does every year. Perhaps that’s why dealers aren’t willing to take a loss on their current inventory because they know that’s right around the corner.

A storm is brewing. It starts with a "R". Loan defaults are on the rise. It could actually get worse before it gets better. I suggest holding out a little bit longer to buy a car.

I have problems with dealerships removing their BS “3M protection” $2500 fee. I feel it’s a BS way to add more money into it.
Or for a truck we were looking at, tires were bald. Asked them for 4 that actually cones on the truck factory. They said they had tires which are cheaper and would install them. We said no. Spend the extra $100 per tire or we walk. Welp..we walked. After his 3rd call after we left, we told him not to call us again. They’re desperate but still idiots.

Please shed some light on how used car dealers (family businesses) navigate these time?

Inventory shortage wasn’t in dealer’s control.

Interest rates are not in dealers’s control.

Book values increase or decrease aren’t in dealers control.

I know you talk down upon dealer, but they have employees and families to support. So let’s find content that will help them as well.

Personally, I like to buy used cars from the prior owner and sell my old cars myself. The only exception might be a good deal on a CPO vehicle with a warranty. Otherwise, why pay a premium for a used car for which you have zero idea who owned it before you and how he or she cared for it?

I recently found a super clean 2019 model with only 14k miles and the prior owner had a factory extended service agreement through 7/2026 that I transferred to my name for $50. The prior owner was a fanatic about maintenance and he only washed it by hand since new.

Of course, having some cash and the ability to buy a new car while waiting to sell my last one helps immensely. I am also a bit of a freak since I enjoy the hunt and the process.

Another GREAT video...I have been delaying my purchase for over !!!2YEARS!!! waiting for the car market crash that NEVER happened. My gold nugget takeaway from today was, because I hold my cars for a long time, was the recommendation to buy the 2023 vs 2024 as the better value.

Took delivery of my ordered 2024 2500HD this week. Did NOT pay MSRP and refused to let them have my trade. Sold my trade months back for $5500 more than the trade offer. Made the deal under the assumption that I was financing then excused myself and made a bank withdrawal😂. I was ready to buy a new truck just as covid started and have been banking the imaginary payment for 4 years.

Thanks to you guys I was prepared for the showroom showdown😂😂

I went to buy a 2010 used car that was listed at 20k. Dealer Financing came back and said the bank would only give them 16k for the car. They are literally expecting someone to give them 4k cash down. If the bank won't give you the money for the car then what makes them think I will.

I am patient. I'm driving my Mighty 2015 Nissan Versa likely until it is totaled in an accident or the cost of repair is a big one..... (i.e. CVT transmission needs replacement). Once the car hits ten years of age I can start sniffing around for a replacement, but in no rush.
