this is the game of the year 2022 even if some people dont like it

i kinda was excited for the game but played it and hated it. didn’t realize there was a dlc but the fact they killed off the main character makes me dislike it even more. The story wasn’t bad it was how stiff and slow the combat felt. it took forever to reload or heal.

Maaaaaan, Jacob could have handled that small horde of Biophages. Hes handled worse. Like that lift to the colony

I hope a sequel will happen, and I hope Dani the new protagonist and continue the story

I didnt play the game yet but the ending doesnt seem that bad too me, i mean the truth is he wasnt a hero just a man wanting to make up for what he did when it a lot of damage was already done. The ending made sense too me, sad maybe. But Jacob did make up for his part in the end.

you can already tell that something was wrong when Jacob's suit looked different from the main game suit. Theres a lot more LED for sum reason. Another thing is that Jacob woke up in a completely different area than from the escape pods. perfect foreshadowing by developers. RIP Jacob

When I saw that the name of the protagonist was Jacob in the game, it reminds of Jacob's Ladder, a movie from the 90s, I like to think that the game was a homage to that movie. RIP Jacob.

The setting and story was great for me. The gameplay was kinda fun but was missing something and couldnt really expand.

Definitely a pretty damn bleak ending, very on-par w/ Dead Space at least.

I had a long ahh 'Striking Distance Studios' screen before getting to the post credit scene at the end. So long I thought my game was bugged.

Agree or disagree. This game was...ok. the dlc. Showed no continuation of anything. For a second I thought Mahler was somehow still alive but I believe she was probably crushed with Jacob's corpse. So. The DLC failed.

The whole thing was just: Jacob is killed, obviously, and we're playing a dream. Where we find out that Mahler was gathering info from him dead corpse.

If they were going to reveal anything about him dying. I don't see why they didn't just reveal that in the base game. Why make a DLC that'll give us hope. Us hoping that he makes it off the burning ship.

And, the DLC didn't really add anything to the main game. Just confirming that he's dead. Although I do agree with some people. They probably killed Jacob off because of the reception was. But no one wants that horrible fate for a character. It's fucked up how his last words were ”almost..there" meaning he was alive for a few short seconds. Believing that he survived in his mind.

RIP to this game. And the humorous ending....man, the devs prob like "we fucked up with this one, let's give the player some humor to cheer them up" that dlc was...kinda depressing ngl.

The gameplay was boring as hell. But they did give it a good and decent ending. If a part two is to be done. I hope they stay away from the melee gameplay.

This game suffered so much from the fact that this was a DLC ON DAY ONE.

Honestly, I have no problem with the base game. Although the story is a bit...unexpected but it is acceptable. However, this DLC is absolutely shit! I know he's not a really a great guy but, in the end, he finally wanted to redeem himself by saving Dani while giving her the example as proof to expose the tragedy of Black Iron Prison. At least give him a peaceful ending or something! Not this total crap!

I liked this game, so basically when the alpha screams in his face and it cuts to the ending of the last game he was ripped in half and beat but still clinging to survival Mahler took him and kept him alive so he could basically be a pawn in leaking the truth behind black iron, 😢 and someone get this man his legs. Poor Josh Duhamel lol, great actor

This looks like they had two endings prepared (Jacob lives/escapes and Jacob hallucinates) and decided to go with the latter one after they realilzed the game does not do well enough for a sequel. Pretty tragic fate for both the game and the protagonist

A little disappointing, great looking game spoilt by clunky gameplay controls. Still at least they wrapped up Cole's story, even if it's awkwardly!

Edgiest ending in recent memory

This games story is trash. They try to convince us that he was a bad guy when he literally didn't know wtf Europa runs had in it's packages. They try to make it seem like he actually knew. Maybe make him actually do something horrible then convince us that he's done bad things. They failed so hard with this story. I could've wrote something better than this. Glad I didn't buy the game. The story could've been badass. Instead we got this trash. I feel sorry for anyone who bought this day one.

I just realized this when Mahler is taking about her experiment that broke free there’s monitors showing security bot parts with human X ray skeleton foreshadowing her testing with human enhancing putting people brains and body parts in robots
