There once was a man who did the exactly same thing. He left his family and everything behind to be with the woman he loved because his parents didn't approve her. Ten years later, she divorce him and ran off with her new boyfriend, so he have to crawl back to his family and ask for forgiveness. At the request of his mother, they allow him to return and give him everything to start over. He is now living a happy, joyful life, he'll never abandon his family for a woman again.

I really like this film, and the romance has very little to do with it. This film is really about being Asians, the generational conflict, the class struggle, the patriarchal world, the clash between ‘Asian’ Asian and western Asians. When all of these clash, it’s really messy, but that is what it’s like to be an Asian.

She has a loving husband, 3 cute kids and a settled life, how can you do that!!!
