Did you hear how she pronounced the DY in "azafady". Are there soft sounds in Malagasy language?

The "v" here sounds a little bit like an "f" from my malagasy ears but it's actually like a "v" but overall the pronunciation is very good!

it seems there are some silent vowels here and there, or perhaps reduced vowels?... H is sometimes dropped also... the Y at the end of a word is sometimes like an EE sound, but sometimes it is like a very short EE sound, or softening the previous consonant... is it?

A lot of people are pointing out the obvious Austonesian influences but there’s some clear Bantu ones as well especially in Accent and Tone but many of the words seem Africanized too compare to there Malay counterparts. If it wasn’t for the vocabulary if I heard this from my far I would definitely know it’s from Africa but if someone from Indonesia heard it the accent will throw them off but they would know with the person is trying to say that’s crazy hmmmm very interesting 🧐

As I am currently learning, aside from Malagasy, several other languages, among them Malay and Indonesian, the word "taona" brings me right back to the word "tahun" which means "year" in Indonesian and Malay. One question, though: When do you use "aho" and when "za"?
