I purchased a Chinese mantis oothecae but it has one tiny hole at the bottom, it hasn't hatched after 3 weeks, how can I be sure if it is still good?

This is amazing news!!! I found a female mantis and it must of mated! She just passed away yesterday she lived a healthy life! And laid 5 fertile egg sacs!!

How long would it take for someone to be able to tell if it’s fertile or not?

Hey i have a question that i haven't really gotten a clear answer to. After the female mates with a male after they've connected successfully and mated for hours, does the female have to absorb the spermatophore? Because sometimes i find the sperm packets have fallen out of the end of the females abdomen. Is it necessary to fertilize the eggs or is sperm absorbed regardless if a connection is successful?

Parthenogenesis has also been recorded in Sphodromantis viridis!
Thank you for this video, btw. I had no idea unfertilized ooths looked so different!
