How to send emails from localhost using PHP and SendMail | Send email with PHP

Hello sir,
I just watched your video with the title "PHP Tutorial: How to send HTML emails with php | PHP email template system"
And it turns out that I can not add html lines of code inside the php code. Is that because i'm using localhost sending mail method or is there something else that causes the error
I'll really appreciate if you can help me out this problem

sir I don't have any registered email id..can I send mail from my localhost php page to my gamil account for testing purpose? what should I use in smtp_sever=,auth_username= and what to use in $header and in $to?
