Wow this song pulls my heart through my chest it describes my relationship with my grandfather and i perfectly.

This is sacrilege but I like listening to this better than Guy's, I think maybe because Guy really had Jack Prigg in his life & it's melancholy to me. When Jason does it he knows the feelings & treats the song w/respect but it's a whole diff thing.

He sure isn't GUY CLARKE. His voice is very thin. Nothing to it.

Not too bad, but I'm doubling back to Jerry Jeff and the Highway Men. A bit more convincing, like Midland messing with Wicked Game, leave it alone.

I love Jason Isbell but he murders this.

Theirs something truly special about this performance. I feel like I’m watching and important moment in history. This song and specifically Jason’s cover brought me to tears when I heard it cause it reminds me of my relationship with my grandfather. It reminds me to cherish ever memory. I love all of Jason Isbells music by this cover has just solidified him as my favorite artist.

I really thought this song was one that should never be covered by anyone. I mean Guy Clark, who can do it justice? Isbell won me over. He is a special talent.

Absolutely THE best version of this great song on the planet.

It took a minute for me to warm to this but if I cast aside my instinct to compare it to the original he did a very nice job, especially so given he did it solo. No version has ever done it for me better than Jerry Jeff's though. JMO.

Class Act, that guy. Not only a tribute to Guy, you know Jerry Jeff has seen this and loved it. Hell, He was probably there. I didn't see it. Wish I was. They don't broadcast live ACL shows in Austin like they used to. It's right down the street. Cheers!
