Are you sure Microsoft is dropping vs code? Your video is confusing, in the announcement they read vs code will be the alternative for those who were working on visual studio for mac.
ОтветитьCan you cite the reference that states Visual Studio Code has been dropped?
Ответитьseems Visual Studio Code still very active today, I am still using it.
ОтветитьWhy 😢😢
Ответитьeverything integrated into one environment == 90GB of disk space or more.
ОтветитьIt said that children always think their mothers are the best cooks. VS Code seems to give more than we need and I am satisfied; at least for now.
ОтветитьFinally a public acknowledgment of the sunsetting of vs for Mac! Great video, thx. What would be your preferred tools for developing mobile(iOS) apps in dotnet now?
Ответитьhave you used VIM? Hmmmm?
Ответитьvs22 is excellent on windows why do people slate it so much
ОтветитьI use Visual Studio to create MVC applications and when i want to practice an algorithm. When I want to create an api, I use VScode. One window open for Angular, another for c# code.
ОтветитьYour statement "In the meantime Microsoft drops Visual Studio Code" is a complete bs. It's through people like you making statements like that how rumors are spread. Disinformation in its purest form. It's not vscode being dropped but the support for older versions of macos. Get your facts straight or at least post a link to where you read those unholy news.
ОтветитьVisual studio is like a cola... Your analogy mixes up Coke and cola. You should have said cola. No one uses the term "Pepsi Coke". The commonalities are Pepsi-Cola or Coca-Cola.
Ответитьphp devs using vs code really likes pain 🤣
ОтветитьNow waiting for visual studio for Linux
ОтветитьYou know, most texans call every soda a coke.
Ответить"the Switzerland of operating system user" 😂brilliant
ОтветитьStudio is actually a good IDE, but since i moved to Rider, I am not going back anytime soon
ОтветитьDoes .NET SDK for macOS will no longer get support in the future as well or only the IDE?
ОтветитьIf you said to me you were Jeff Bezos's younger brother, I'd actually believe you.
ОтветитьGood riddens!
ОтветитьI ll be happy when finally vscode allows detach script window from the main program and use it in the other monitor.
ОтветитьSo how large is visual studio in space. How many gigabytes is the entire download
ОтветитьCool video. For me, the newer version of Visual Studio are just too slow to operate in. Switching from a hard drive to SSD helped quite a bit, but still.
Ответитьso what code editor we gonna use as I have m1 macbook
ОтветитьFor any M1-M2 Mac users if you're looking for a true IDE built for Mac (both Intel and ARM), JetBrains Rider is really solid. If you're using their ReSharper plugin, it is an IDE built from the ground up around the mindset of that plugin. It also uses mono for full framework support if needed I made the switch fully switch to Rider around 3 years ago and have not looked back.
ОтветитьVisual Studio Code was a fork of Atom. Then Atom got killed off after a while, after Microsoft acquired GitHub.
ОтветитьNice vid. I gave up trying to write anything .Net on Mac a while ago. I think Xamarin had more features than VS for Mac. My attempts to get use C# crossplatform hasn't been that good on Mac. I have had better success on Linux. I'm a hobbyist at this point. Left programming professionally about 12 years ago.
Ответить:wq
ОтветитьWondering how rider works on the new macs and the experience 🤔
ОтветитьBundling is probably why software sucks so much
ОтветитьI'm curious if you are aware how fun your videos are.
ОтветитьReal question - why do you use Mac when there are computers for grown ups?
ОтветитьI’m happy to know that I’m not the only one who uses all three OSs 😂
Its called using the right tool for the job 😎
He just invented the word IDE
ОтветитьVisual Studio,,, Who?
VeeEssCoooede.. YEAH.... Baby... 😂😂
I like to compare it to buying a Dell laptop off the shelf with everything built in/ready to go, and buying a Raspberry Pi with extra required hardware and software but loads of more customization.
ОтветитьI work with dotnet but I prefer VSCode. VS is slow and having so much stuff makes me nervous. More superficially, I'm used to VSCode's keyboard shortcuts and I find it's prettier to look at for hours. Plus I don't mind having to do most stuff in the terminal - the only thing I like better about VS is the SQL Explorer. I've also heard good things about its debugging tools for multithreaded code.
ОтветитьI love your sense of humor man 😂
ОтветитьNow that MacOS support is dead maybe it is time for Visual Studio for Linux?
ОтветитьIn one word... Intellij! 🤣
ОтветитьSimplicity is essential and VSCode is the ideal programmer's editor. I will never use a monolith giant like Visual Studio, I hate these kind of IDE's. Zillion of technologies is installed, and I have no idea even half of these. I am minimalist, I install what I need and well know, rest do not interest me.
ОтветитьI despise Visual Studio Code. The underlying electron framework is the pinnacle of resources wastage.
I remember installing a few extensions to handle python and markdown, wondering how an editor can take 1GB worth of space.
I loved VS for mac. I still use it for game development. Sad to see it go.
Ответитьhahaha, as someone that has worked extensively on visual studio 2022, I concur and for the records, I am still laughing! I mean we can't use Xcode on window, the only way is to (VE) virtualize an environment and this makes Microsoft a little linear with startups and freedom to explore and travel with your ideas!
ОтветитьI’m confused, I understanding that vsCode is just a text editor and visual studios is a heavy duty IDE. But what really is the difference if you plan to use a text editor + dozens of command line tools? What makes visual studios any different? I don’t mean this as a rhetorical question, I don’t understand. Editing text is just one portion is creating applications.
ОтветитьBring back VB 6!
ОтветитьWhy do you use VS, when you have VS Code? Oh boy that sounds like a comment, that would come from a script kiddie...
I only use VS Code to alleviate the lack of features in VIM with regards to syntax help.
