I'd like to see a refresh video of this with the new Aegis now supporting up to DDR5 8000. I currently have a 7800X3d with DDR5 7800 CL38
Ответитьgskill trident z5 neo best for 7800x3d?
ОтветитьDropping by to say a huge thank you for the info in the video. I recently built my first PC (for gaming) in over 26 years (being a Mac user) and combining a 7950X3D with a founders edition 4090 and G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo DDR5-6000 CL30-38-38-96 has produced a breath-taking level of performance. I can literally throw anything at it with max settings - along with some quality DLSS magic dust - and it runs beautifully. Thanks!
ОтветитьMy pre built is on the way. 7800x3d but only 4800 ddr5. Is that bad
ОтветитьIt looks like the 6400 mt with cl 32 was a bad buy but it was all they had atm
ОтветитьPlease do 32gb vs 96gb x3d
Ответитьi would love to see the same benchmark with 14900k and 8000mhz ram
ОтветитьWho on gods green earth buys a 4090 to play 1080p games. I am so tired of all these benchmarks only being in 1080p. It makes every video you make useless. The way the CPUs behave at different resolutions is a big deal. I have not played a 1080p game in almost 5 years. I'm unsubscribing.
ОтветитьNeed to revisit this with the new agesa updates which should allow 7200 to work on am5 or higher :)
ОтветитьSo basically x3d = Doesnt really matter what the RAM speed is as the 3D vcache is doing the heavy lifting
You should just go for RAM capacity over speed and save some money in the process
My AM5 AND DD5 configuration and what has been happening:
MSI B650 Motherboard Mount WIFI (tested original) (PLUS Store)
AMD Ryzen 5 7600 Processor (Made Boost 200mhz + PBO -30 Negative All colors) (tested original)
Kit 32GB XPG 2x16 6400Mhz CL32 memories (tested original) (PLUS Store)
SSD M.2 Nvme Samsung 980 Pro 1TB (aliexpress) (tested original) (PLUS Store)
Power supply XPG 750W 80Plus GOLD - PCIE 5.0
Montech Air100 ARGB 4Fans Case + Controller
Video Card RTX 3060 12GB Yeston (BUG) (aliexpress) (tested original)(PLUS Store)
Water cooler Aigo darkflash radianto 240mm ARGB (85CFM)
Socket CPU AM5 support + fee R$ 29 (PLUS Store)
Artic MX4 thermal paste (tested original. amazon)
(I spent Incriveis only R$ 5.5k (U$1.000) (before shipping the conformity, I was charged only R$ 29.00)
As soon as I assembled it, I updated everything, bios, drives, etc. to the latest version, EVERYTHING on the assembly date (08/16/2023)
For 2 months the DDR5 worked ZERO bullets on OC 7400Mhz CL32
Once I put the kit at 8000mhz at CL36... and it worked, a little unstable, but everything worked fine.
Then I did more XMP and EXPO tests, and FINALLY I used 6000mhz on CL28 for another 1 month (yes, I really abused it, and I get zika) (I played, I did tests, everything was great and stable for 2 months of intense use)
However, after some Win updates (via win update) the DD5 no longer behave well. (I've already formatted the PC twice)
XMP doesn't go up
AMD EXPO does not go up
And when it goes up, it turns on, and after 3 to 5 times turning it on, off and restarting, it doesn't boot anymore (just restarting the Bios using the back button) and the video returns.
I did all the MEMTEST86 tests and WIN memory diagnosis
When I put 7400mhz CL34, MEMTEST86 gave it as FAIL, and faulty memories (1000 failures)
When placing the kit at 6000mhz CL28, MEMTEST86 gave it as APPROVED, and memory without FAULTS (zero failures) (BUT NOW THE SYSTEM IS UNSTABLE, CURRENTLY)
When deactivating, and leaving native, in CL40 at 4800mhz, Mentest GAVE APPROVED, memory without failures. (zero failures) (stays stable, normal)
Yes, I'm a PC fan, and I want to extract the maximum performance from these DDR5, and finally reach the highest performance and stability of AMD Ryzen. That's why I want to know, is there anything else I can do, try, wait?
(I cleaned the memories with contact cleaner, PC is perfectly assembled, checked, drives are all up to date (03/11/2023) programs optimized, PC is CLEAN and smells good. Extremely well organized and fitted in)
I've got corsair 6000 30-36-36-77 2x16gb ram for the 7800x3d. I am curious what's the performance for me as on the internet people are having a blast with the high fps the CPU provides.
ОтветитьThank you ! Do you planned to do the same video for 2k and 4k resolutions ?
Ответитьis 6000mt/c30 easy on 2x32GB EXPO kit or will I have stability problems?
ОтветитьI wonder would it be possible to get the 7950X3D working with 128GB DDR5-6000mhz ram with fast timings?
What ram and MB would be able to?
I understand they want to show differences and thus test at 1080p but surely very few people buy an RTX 4090 to play single player games at 1080p? Exaggerating differences by playing in a CPU and memory limited scenario is really only interesting for FPS bragging rights and does little to tell you if the RAM-speed is actually worth it. Either match the GPU to the resolution you're playing or match the resolution to the GPU you're using if you want to show results that tells meaningful information like: "Is DDR5-6000 memory worth it for me?" Otherwise RTX 4090-owners will be none the wiser if DDR5-6000 CL30 memory is worth it to them and similarly 1080p-gamers would have no idea if they should spend their money on DDR5-6000 memory.
ОтветитьNo benchmark for 5600MHz? I have 2 x 32GB Corsair Vengeance 5600MHz and tbf I'm confused because on AMD's own page they say the 7950X3D supports a MAXIMUM of 5200MHz, yet this shows a performance increase for 6000MHz? What is the reason for not benchmarking 5600MHz?
Ответить2 or 4 sticks?
ОтветитьSo, now that we have up to 8000mhz ddr5 RAM for AMD, is the result the same?
Ответить5600 cl28 🙏
ОтветитьI have 2x32gb rams with 6600mHz speed and I can't get any aurorus master board on my ryzen 7950x, what am I doing wrong?
ОтветитьI would love to see these with 4x32gb DDR5 3600 @ CL30 on the chart.
ОтветитьI built a new pc over the weekend with the Ryzen 7950x30D and I’m using trident neo 64gb (2x 32), 6000mhz. I’m getting odd results, I have enabled the RAM on the bios, but the motherboard is still stating an error with the RAM. The task manager states everything ok, and benchmark tests, do not yield any problems, but some of the ROG apps seem to state the specs for the RAM capacity incorrectly.
Ответитьgreat content for reference, thanks!
ОтветитьThe 13900K was not overclocked was it? I wonder, if it was overclocked and if it had $7,800 megahertz RAM how would it compete then.
Ответитьall aboard the AMD EXPO FAIL!!! Forget about problems with fire in your house
ОтветитьWould having dual rank or single rank memory make much of a difference in x3d chips
ОтветитьSuperb benchmark mate, thank you for this. My 7950X3D arrived today and now I am confident on which RAM to get, cheers- amazing channel.
ОтветитьHardware Unboxed, I am fairly certain your benchmarks are wrong because here you say for Horizon Zero Dawn it is on ultimate quality and you get around 260 FPS yet on your 7950x3d benchmarks video it is also 260 but on Favor Quality. Either this video or that video are wrong. If anything I am guessing this video is incorrect as my benchmarks are much closer to the previous video.
Ответитьwhy the hell i9 so slow?
ОтветитьWill 5600mhz, non-expo ram work with the 7950x3d? 36-36-36-76 C36
ОтветитьDoes capacity matter at all? For example, the GSkill Trident Neo 6000 CL30 kit comes in either 2x16gb or 2x32gb. With the 64gb kit see any difference in performance than the 32gb kit?
ОтветитьSo what’s the tldr on ram speed and size for 7950x3d
ОтветитьI bet cl30 tight timing ran would do wonders in world of warcraft.
it fucking LOVES every bit it can get cpu wise.
Don't know why my CL30 6000mhz won't run at CL30 but instead runs at CL36. Expo should set things according to specs..
ОтветитьWhat about other forms of benchmarks such as time turn in civilization VI ?
ОтветитьSuper interesting thank you!
ОтветитьGreat video, thanks! So for a brand new X670E AM5 build with the upcoming R7 7800X3D, I should just spend a little more and get DDR5 6000MHz CL30 RAM instead of the slower CL36 RAM?
ОтветитьI wonder if this CPU might be better than the 7950X. I'm currently in the process of assembling a system with 128GB ECC DDR5 4800 and I've read a few times already the 7950X3D isn't that depended on fast RAM. So might it be actually better for low RAM speed workstation builds when compared to its non 3D counter part at the same Wattage?
ОтветитьTo be honest I wish AMD just added slightly more cache to their CPU's and kept the frequencies on standard models or split the cache and put on both ccd's. That half-a$$ed 3d solution just seems to fidly for me. I want stuff to just work and not tinker all the time and wondering if my super expensive cpu is working as intended.
ОтветитьSo using a X3D cpu the difference between 5200mhz 40CL and 6000mhz 30CL is minimal, might as well just get the 5200 which are much easier to get and cheaper
ОтветитьHi, I have a problem with my pc, I have the Ryzen 9 7950x3d with the ASUS proart X670e creator wifi motherboard and the ram is the Corsair dominator 6400 mhz CL32 and when I want to put the DOCP (Like XMP but for Amd) and restart the pc doesn’t work and I have to remove the battery from the motherboard to restart it with the default settings, I have the last bios update, I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong and it’s frustrating cause I can use all the power of the Ram I need help! I will appreciate any comment that can help me
ОтветитьHonestly I see this less as the Ryzen being latency sensitive and instead as Raptor Lake not being as good at utilizing the available memory latency
ОтветитьWould love to see single rank vs dual rank benchmarks
ОтветитьGood work!
ОтветитьThanks for this. I guess i'll stick with 5200mhz ram. The price difference between 5200mhz and 6000mhz is too much here
ОтветитьIsn't a 7950x3d essentially two chips in one, i.e., a 7800x3d and a 7700x? Or a 7700x that can clock higher?
ОтветитьThanks for your analysis as always.
ОтветитьThis gets confusing, as the 32GB G.Skill sticks are CL32-38 or CL30-40, the question being which performs best? I'd kinda think the CL32 in that case but not sure. Or would 4x16GB CL30-38 be better? The fact we can actually measure notable differences now in these configurations is a bit of a nightmare when trying to find the best balance.
Also the fact you can find Intel validated sticks with better timings than the AMD ones.
