I remember I was in class and some girl asked me about a rap artist and I was like “who” so a boy I know came up and said “oh well they don’t listen to that kind of stuff” and another boy comes up and says “nah they don’t really like rap they like TV girl or something” while I’m over here blasting trivium in my ears 😭

I also remember when I’d get called emo cause of the way I dress in school and it’s funny bc I didn’t even dress emo and I didn’t even really listen to alternative music at the time

In my state in the US, if I had a dollar for everytime somebody has compared me to or assumed I'm a fan of KISS, I'd be living in a mansion thats about a kilometer high and long and paying rent for it would be like paying a penny. Needless to say its usually said by middle aged people from the 70's and the 80's who should already know better to know that it wasn't all just KISS who wore makeup back then and it wasn't just Rock musicians who wore makeup back then.

I also get asked about my makeup and this has become the age old question for me, because I have been constantly asked by different people each time for the past three years despite the fact that I have been wearing makeup for 8 years, but lately for the past 3 years, I have been constantly asked if its all tattooed or paint. To me, that's even more annoying than being compared to KISS or told I remind that person of KISS. Now its not just old people and middle aged people who ask me this shit, but people my age ask me too and I am 26 years old.

I don’t wear makeup because it makes me dysphoric but I literally don’t care whether you wear makeup or not. Why should I care. It’s not that hard to chill out about men and enbys wearing makeup.
