ОтветитьI've heard 80K killed. Which is right? 20K or 80K?
ОтветитьLions led by donkeys who never stood trial for their murderous incompetence.

ОтветитьLook at all the major wars, it is always same countries that are involved, coincidence?
ОтветитьSgt Tony said after receiving a shot of morphine:
"a divine compassion flow over me...its being like a dog kicked and bullied by everyone at last find by master."
We must be mad, utterly insane! WW 1 made this world we live in today, and we still don't have a clue. 😞☠️👋
ОтветитьWW2 only happened because we Americans didn't listen to the wisdom of our founders, who told us to keep out of European wars. We should have let our former "rulers" die by the sword. Now look at Europe, infested by immigrants and Marxism.
Ответить"Most part of France ".. says the man who has never looked at a map
ОтветитьNo mans land with Grass...
ОтветитьTwo of my ancestors cousins of my great grandmother ,2 brothers where in the Liverpool 4th battalion kings regiment, one came home the other died from his wounds after a battle of the somme 14th August 1916, RIP buried in France
ОтветитьLions led by donkeys
Ответитьwonder how many French would have volunteered to fight in Britain if the roles were reversed
ОтветитьThis was a fantastic documentary. Best I’ve seen yet. RIP to all from both sides..
ОтветитьY tantos para nada.😢😢😢
ОтветитьMy grandfather, Scottish born and grown up in Sydney Australia, was a stretcher bearer in this battle and others in WW1. This depiction means a lot.
ОтветитьOutstanding documentary! WWI was THE most useless and unnecessary war EVER conducted. ALL because of alliances and egos of the ruling elites! They are doing same now in Ukraine but the difference is that if the Ukraine war gets out of hand as WWI then it becomes a nuclear war and destruction of all of mankind! What is needed is peace negotiations but the ruling elites and media on both sides are like they were in WWI fanning flames of escalating war!
ОтветитьIch gedenke allen Toten
ОтветитьMy grandfather was on the SS Transylvania being shipped to Egypt when it was sunk of the coast of Italy, eventually getting to to the army in Palestine he was shot and injured. After recuperation he was then posted to France where survived a bayonet wound and ended up in a hospital in England. He remained in the army until he had his knee damaged in a friendly game of football in 1921. Took a game of football to end his army career.
Ответитьwhy did they just walk like on a sunday stroll when leaving the trench and not run?
ОтветитьThe World has learned NIOTHING from these mass slaughters!!!
ОтветитьVietnam vet here. Lions led by donkeys, just about sums it up.
ОтветитьIm Krieg gibt es keine Helden sondern nur arme Schweine.
ОтветитьAn absolutely brilliant docudrama. Well done!
Ответитьas they said meaningless carnage ❤
ОтветитьThe letters from the night before going over the top are so hard
ОтветитьAs usual a lie with British ! Verdun was the most crucial battle in WW1 not Somme ! Also , half of men in Somme was French ! Pls tell the truth
ОтветитьJust watched 😮, I'm lost for word's!
ОтветитьWar is when people who do not know each other shoot at each other on the orders of people who do know each other but do not shoot at each other.
ОтветитьUSA loves boasting about their short involvement when they only saw fighting for six months while the Brits suffered 150,000 deaths in one day at the Somme.
ОтветитьOld men, miles behind the front line, send the young to utter slaughter. I only hope that this statistic as the worst day for losses in the British Army is NEVER surpassed. The level of the carnage on that first day is the equivalent of the entire population of Bognor Regis disappearing one morning.
ОтветитьBritish under command of Haig were fools
ОтветитьAlot of MK4 Enfields
Ответитьsuch horror
ОтветитьMy great-grandfather was called to war in the italian-austrian front, he was 17 years old. May he rest in prace
ОтветитьIf the horrors of the Great War were not enough to end such madness, nothing ever will.
ОтветитьOutstanding thanks from. Sc
ОтветитьExcellent stuff
ОтветитьAll wars are bankers wars , thanks Rothschild

ОтветитьMy Grandfather was there at the time. 1st Australian Siege Brigade, heavy howitzers.
I have his war diary. He is very dry and matter-of-fact. “Another day at the office” . “Carried on the war as usual”.
He never dramatised it. He had a job to do and men to lead, so he kept himself under strict control. I knew him as an old man. A very fine and considerate gentleman.
Without britains falsifying the Lusitania as a civilian ship the US might have never entered the war. That would have made for a very different outcome. No matter how we judge that, this was a clever move by GB. I do think the US government was in on that information that the ship acrually brought weapons and amunition to GB.
Strange how easy it is sometimes to manipulate the people.
The Somme was a failure by the british military leadership imprisoned in their snobism ,elitism ,gained rank by nepotism they lacked the understanding and ability to adapt of what was happening. Whole platoons of men being nearly the whole male population of villages got deleted days after it was clear rheir approach wasnt working.
