Great job . looks delicious.
ОтветитьI really appreciate your video. I'm never seen a video show me the end results. Thank you so much I will continue to watch you.
ОтветитьI was looking for a seedless blackberry jelly/jam recipe & when I saw this….I thought Glenn Beck is doing a video on jam/jelly how to’s? Sorry if this offends you but I thought it was hilarious at first!! 😊 ps: I listen to Glenn almost every weekday. Yah, I’m one of THOSE.
ОтветитьThe biscuits looked amazing with your jelly. Did you make them? Have you made a biscuit video? I need to learn that.
ОтветитьWe have a bumper crop of blackberries this year. The jelly looks so good. He commented on how sweet it is. Can you less sugar than 4.5 cups of sugar to 4 cups of juice?
ОтветитьMmm mmm mmm 😋
I can’t wait to make this!!
So funny you mentioned people being scared of canning Yep that would be me. I think I can figure out how to conquer my fear so that I can make this jelly though lol.
Thanks for sharing this info. I'll be making this jelly when I get berries this year. Have a great day and happy gardening 🌿🌱😊🤗
ОтветитьBerries are hard to grow when you've got a bird sanctuary near by. Can you use frozen berries that have been thawed?
ОтветитьAwesome! I don't grow blackberries, but they grow wild and chemical-free on the property where I live. I've never canned anything in my life. I might have to try. My grandma would be proud. :)
ОтветитьI followed your instructions to a T but my jelly did not set (first time making jelly). I looked up other recipes and they call for lemon juice but you did not mention that in your ingredients. (Love your channel by the way 😊)
ОтветитьIt isn't required to pre-sterilize jars, as long as you process the filled jars for ten minutes, adjusted for altitude. Ten minutes will sterilize the jar and contents. Save the time and the humidity in the house on a hot day!.Gorgeous product you made!
ОтветитьI have the same siv. And stand but unfortunately i don't have the pusher/roller any ideas on where to get one?
ОтветитьHey 👋🏼 Scott wipe down your rims with vinegar to sterilize. 🌱🌱🌱
ОтветитьSo do you use Jam Sugar?, instead od normal sugar, which I fond is so much better.
ОтветитьI have seen some that use Pomona's Universal Pectin. This requires less sugar. Your jelly looks great.! 👍
ОтветитьCanning has been sold to me as very difficult and risky. I see now, that all you need is a bit of space, time, and to follow steps in a procedural way.
I'm amazed that is how much jelly you got out of ~4 cups of blackburrys + ingredients! I'm excited to try! Thanks for this video.
This guy makes me go to sleep. He has a very relaxing voice
ОтветитьI have blackberries on my bush and have n=made varies version of blackberries, so all good....
ОтветитьCan I use less sugar? How about honey?
ОтветитьI have not seen a lifter. Where did you find it
ОтветитьWet your cloth to get a better drain and less of the juice being held in the cloth.
ОтветитьThat looks delicious. I have never made jelly as I have only ever made jam. I am going to try this when our winter is over.
ОтветитьOhhhhh so if I strains the blackberries.... I get jelly.... WOW.... never thought of doing this... I just make blackberry jam....
Ответитьwow when I made my blackberry Jam I use the fruit as well so much better,
ОтветитьOMG I have made so much blackberry Jam..... ummm do you call Jam Jelly?>
ОтветитьYum
ОтветитьNice video, Scott. The main reason I grow blackberries is to make jam and jelly. Here's a tip: use a long-handled wooden spoon when you stir the hot sugar-juice. It saves your hands from hot spatters and after making hundreds of jars of jelly it's enjoyable to see one side of the spoon flattens and the changing color reflects all the jars of jelly of the past.
ОтветитьMouth watering goodness! 😋💦 Yes indeed!
ОтветитьI just added something to My bucket list! Totally enjyrd this video. 19/10 🙏🙏
ОтветитьAlways enjoy your videos..especially the Backyard Orchard culture ones..I'm inspired and planted 4 trees this spring...Apple, Plum, Peach and cherry... in a very small spot ❤
ОтветитьI've always loved blackberry jam/jelly, can almost taste it just from watching! I'm currently in the process of harvesting my black jewel raspberries, so once I get them all harvested, I'll probably be using this same process to make black raspberry jelly.
ОтветитьThanks for the video Scott. I planted a dwarf blackberry and raspberry plant in containers made out of a blue plastic barrel this year. It may take awhile for them to give me enough berries for jelly, but it sounds like a good way to use them. Though I may make jam instead.
ОтветитьLooks like a great recipe! We planted blackberries this year. Only got a few berries, but hoping for a good harvest next year. I'd love to see a blackberry pruning video if that's something you plan on doing this year. Thanks for the great content!
ОтветитьThanks for the video... Saved it Your wife is indeed a lucky woman that's great 🤠🤠🤠
ОтветитьYou can also get low sugar pectin to make jelly if you want to use less sugar.
ОтветитьWe always count the pings..jars ping when the seal. Anything that doesn't ping gets to go in the fridge. It doesn't happen often. Great video
ОтветитьI’ll never forget the time my mom got her sugar to sure-jell ratio off. We had berry concrete so bad that we had to throw it all out, jars and all. It was sad at the time because we had endured the chiggers to pick the blackberries, but we laugh about it now. Yours looks super yummy.
ОтветитьPS love your recipes
ОтветитьTo transfer the jelly to jars, wrap a folded tea towel around the neck of the hot jar. Hold it by the tea towel and use a jug to pour the jelly into the jar. Any drips from the jelly will fall on the cloth, keeping the jar neck clean. Just another way I guess.
ОтветитьYUM!
ОтветитьScott, you are using your can lifter upside down. This looks delicious!
ОтветитьBeautiful Blackberries to start with.💜💜💜
ОтветитьWhat was the variety of Blackberry?
ОтветитьYum!!!
ОтветитьLooks yummy! And those biscuits look good too. I wonder if blackberry jelly would be good with a hot pepper in it. Hmm. My blackberry plants flowered but never made berries. But I've propagated/ multiplied them & have high hopes for next season. :-)
ОтветитьLooks yummy!
ОтветитьGreat job preacher man! That looks delicious. I enjoy blackberry, blueberry, and strawberry jelly like this. Better than with seeds to me.
ОтветитьI ended up with 8 gallon bags of frozen blackberries last year and still have the jelly this year. I'm up to two gallons already and handing out blackberries to anyone who will take them. Love the jelly because I can't handle the seeds. Made blackberry cobbler over the weekend for friends and decided to try just one scoop over my ice cream. I won't be doing that again any time soon! Thanks for sharing your recipe. I will hand it out with the blackberries. God bless and keep growing. P.S. I get the cheese cloth wet with hot water and then just wring it out so the cheese cloth doesn't absorb as much of the blackberry juice.
ОтветитьThat takes me back to an earlier time in my life. Thanks Scott
ОтветитьGood job Scott, I'm picking berries Thursday to make BlackBerry jam myself. Take care. Are you growing broccoli this year? When in your opinion is the best time?
