im a pirate.. why was i suggested this video?
ОтветитьProducing the American 'R' is no child's play 😅 I don't know but most of us don't sound like the Americans when we try to produce it 😂 and that's pretty much noticeable. It is better to be in close proximity to people who speak the language that you're aspiring to learn. Otherwise, one has to put in so much effort and time.
ОтветитьThank you Teach.
Ответитьyou're so beautiful i love you
ОтветитьHow do you make the sound using these letters KRRR or KROUCK ?
ОтветитьMadam your speaker american englisg super condnue your video madam❤😮🎉
ОтветитьI follow british english... but american english is crazy.
ОтветитьI don't know why, but when I try to do it it turns out more or less well, but when I put it together with its proper words I feel that I exaggerate it too much and it looks very unrealistic,
ОтветитьThank you for an amazing video
ОтветитьIs the /r/ sound in British and American English pronounced exactly the same way when it precedes a vowel sound? Thank you so much for your interesting and useful lessons.
ОтветитьHelpful!
ОтветитьThank you so much .Don't related but you're so pretty.

ОтветитьAmerican R sound is actually original British pronunciation. Sometime in the 1600s England changed their accent to sound more posh so as to separate themselves from the working classes
Shakespeare likely used Rhotic language
God bless you

ОтветитьExcelente explicación. Uno de los mejores videos de pronunciación del R sound. Congratulations
ОтветитьIf we really wanted to help foreigners learn English more easily, we would switch to a complete phonetic alphabet. I made one. I converted 5000 words. It's awesome. It would take years off childhood schooling and it improves efficiency considerably. It also reduces the challenge of spelling words to near monkey level. Spelling Bees would be obsolete.
The general premise of our alphabet going back to the Phoenicians, was to use simple characters to represent the individual speech sounds. For some strange reason, we didn't follow through on that plan and ended up with a half-baked alphabet. I fixed that. I call it 7th Melennium English or 7M-ENGLISH.
Example below:
If wε rilε wʌnted tq help forinrz lrn Εnglix mor εzulε, wε wůd swic tq u kumplεt fonetik alfubet.
Spanish speakers speak a trilled (d) sound when they see an (r). They have a minor double tap (d) sound and a major many taps (d) sound. Personally I think this stems from the fact that (r) is a vowel, so when people began using it as a consonant, they found it very disappointing since it lacks the body and substance of a real consonant, thus the trilled (d) was an act of over compensating for the depressing deficiency of the misused (r) vowel.
ОтветитьIt's a vowel. (R) is a vowel and you can prove it to yourself by voicing it continuously and listening to it and noticing that it remains the same sound from start to end. It is a monophthong aka 'pure vowel'.
ОтветитьPermit me to make the following remark: As a native Russian speaker, I can testify to the fact that one can totally hold out a rolled R. Thank you so much for your videos, they're helpful!
ОтветитьHi teacher,l so really like you to listen your video,l wish prophs to you teacher,l'm listening in Haiti.
Ответитьmy name is Abid & I am from Pakistan, I lived 15 years in Dubai, I am working on American accent , and your way of teaching is so helpful. Thanks a lot
ОтветитьI am not american, and can still imperssonate an american accent pretty well, but when i talked with american people it didn't sound accurate and sometimes i even sounded unclear, especially when theres the R letter.. i am saying it well, but why does my accent still feels off at some phrases, i just figured you use certain tone changes in words and R isn't actually all of my accent problem, i realized i am not using always the right tone and sound in some words, an american accent is not just the sound of letters, it is much deeper than this...and it is still odd to me that i am not sounding perfect, i am from israel, but i use english even more than hebrew sometimes, i think in english, i search google in english, and hear a ton and tons of americans from movies/videos, I BREATHE english, it became like my native language...so why didn't my brain learn how to speak with a perfect accent if i am around english so much, is it normal? Can i talk with a perfect english accent even if english isn't my native language? If i practice enough.. is it possible to sound at some point like a true born american if lets say i live in america for 10 years, even if i wasn't born american?
ОтветитьHi! I'm a 12 year old boy, and I can't say the letter R since I was born. I've been trying to pronounce it since I was a little kid, but I couldn't. I've stop practicing for like 2 years, and it has been interfering with my studies, like how your suppose to talk to the whole class, but my Rs make me sound like a baby. Its embarrassing. I've been trying to make friends but it is so hard just with not saying R. Like my name. Ruselle. For others, "What's your name?" Is a easy question to answer. For me, it's not. I say "Wuselle". And they will say 'Wuselle' back and we have a confusing conversation. I hated that. This is my Day 1 of trying to say R. I hope through the days I'll slowly make my mouth say the R sound!
Ответитьi am sure she is very beauty
ОтветитьHi Keenyn, I am an educator of more than 30 years in American universities. I just watched your "R" 3- part videos and I found them useful immensely. I am very interested in reducing my accent and I believe watching your videos will help a lot. I need to know which area I should be focusing more rather than taking a wide brush approach. I was thinking of recording say one minute of my speech and have someone troubleshoot it to identify the obvious errors that I make in my speech. Do you have any advice? Thank you. Sam
