Path of Exile Crafting Tutorial [PoE University]

They call it crafting but it definitely is not crafting. Crafting is building something you want. Not just randomly rolling stats on an existing piece.

Man a lot of this goes totally over my head as a beginner. I feel like a lot of new player content on PoE is more like intermediate level, a lot of things go unexplained with no elaboration

is this course mandatory for finishing the game?

Are all the tips here still up to date? i can't find certain Harvest options

This tutorial is terrible.

These tools are all wrong, i want to set up an item and have the tool tell me the optimal way to make it, not me putting all the information and crafting it and then the tool telling me how much it costs...

Is there another cheap option to reforge keep suffixes?

Me just starting poe: puts 15% chaos resistance on a piece of gear from the crafting bench “nice, better resistance. I wonder how high level crafting works in this game. Oh hey! A tutorial!”

Lol, i understand nothing. Maybe show such stuff ingame and not on a website. Like, WHERE in the game do yoi do all this and what are you using to do it ?

ugh I'm at 13 minutes in and he's already said and done multiple things without explaining them. Why did he enchant 'cannot roll attack modifiers?' What does this achieve? Why does he not explain this?

I can't say how thankfull I am. You just explained everything important to know about crafting and ich can't wait to try myself (right now I'm t10-t11 maps) I will safe up some currency and start my own crafting :3

So its item crafting (outside bench) in POE done at the point you can just waste exalts and not care for it? At what point in the campain, early mapping, late mapping should someone aim to do this. In the bow example at lv50 I don't will have more than 10-20 chaos and barely any crafting material.

Hey Ziz and Guys, i want to Crafting this League, but my biggest problem is I never know exactly which crafting method to use for my particular item. Many say Harvest is good but I've never rolled anything good with harvest.

Does Change a unique item into a random unique armour/weapon/jewel changes the number of sockets and links? on harvest crafting
I will appy it to the Simple robe 6 sockets and links but i do not wanna lose the number of sockets and links

Self advice #2: Don't be a perfectionist, settle for greatest-for-your-current-currency and later craft better/best

My own advice: at league start, use crap essences instead of alchs (esp. for vendor recipe parts)

Thanks for these videos Ziz. Crafting is a pretty intimidating part of PoE. Particularly since I didn’t play during Harvest league so I don’t know what to look for with that mechanic.

Between learning this and the new influenced stuff, my gear is going to be a lot better this league.
I never got around to learning veiled orbs so that'll be a big help, thanks.

PS. There's a vendor recipe for the Hyrri's Bite quiver (white Sharktooth Arrow Quiver + rare onyx amulet + rain of arrows with 1% or more quality + chance orb). Nice for leveling in ssf/at league start.

Damn I just realized why harvest is so overpowered. Basically just adding bench crafts into the item as if they were normal crafts? Amazing video, ty.

there were some comments left about crafting, it's all basic, but you shouldn't recommend even using reforge keep suffixes on that chest base in trade league (2ex each on tft). It would be better to craft double-influ frenzy+attack/spell crit+1curse. You can do that on few lvl on investment.
1. awakener orb frenzy on hit+attack or spell crit (depending on build) - pick good base
2. if suffixes full, you can leave it (cheap version), if it's empty u can lock suffixes and reforge light/cold/fire/chaos to gamble for ress.
3. once suffixes are done, lock them, reforge caster for 100% chance to get +1 curse mod on prefix
4. usually it adds only curses, but u might get an extra mod, so you can craft life and Leo slam it or try to lock suffixes again and aisling for +10% life/mana, then craft life

Yah crafting is bad as I thought it was. I think I'll stick to buying my gear. Why the hell would I waste that much time on RNG crap.

I find POE crafting out of reach for end game. Obtaining enough rare currency is just total BS in this game. They really need to make crafting easier and more accessible to enable people to experiment more without all the pain and RNG. The games superb and extensive ability to create lots of different builds is its downfall when it comes to crafting. Just too complicated.

When crafting phys axe why did you use granite flask recipe to upgrade the tier of flat phys mod if 'reforge more likely' rerolls the mod tier anyway?

Ziz you are great and your videos are great. Please just have your editor take care of your audio. It's clean and sounds good but it is too low and each video is a different loudness. I need to set everything to max here so I can watch your videos and the ads come in super loud etc. For web publishing of dialogue we aim at about -14db integrated loudness at least. Tho the ads will still be louder, at -14db it's ok. I would be glad to help if you want it ok

I have a feedback to share from one of my friends who has played just about 100 hrs. "It'd be great to have prerequisites to this video linked in description or mentioned clearly at the beginning instead of just mentioning to refer to old poe uni videos". I get where his opinion comes from.. you do these videos each league so new players are not sure what to watch, especially since each video is so long.

God damn 2 reforge more likely in each harvest? I must have had horrible luck. I got 2 augments and only 4 reforge more likely all of last league. (don't mess with tft)

Aw man I made a killing selling those block spell damage clusters last league. Looked on craft of exile to make one for myself and realized it was such easy profit. Getting the 2 block nodes + random 3rd mod sold for 3+ ex.

Can you add bookmarks to this?

I know how CoE works, my real problem is that I don't really know what I want to craft and what I can actually achieve on gear.
And I don't think I can learn this from YT :(
