Thanks for the great diagnosis and repair Wizard! Drives so smoothly and quiet now. Becky has the keys and won’t give them to me. Lol.
ОтветитьOne of the best v8’s ever made
ОтветитьSuprised they didnt point out the missing pixels on speedometer
ОтветитьWhat are your thoughts on a 99 E55 AMG? Same car as that, but an E class.
ОтветитьHey how are you? I'm new to mercedes but i would like to purchase this 2002 c class. I'm only looking to drive this car for about 2-3 years tops then go finance something later. I was wondering how costly a 2002 mercedes would be for roughly 2 years? I know it's impossible to look at a ad and say if the cars good or not but how much of a gamble is this? I'm going to bring my obd scanner and look for obvious things under the hood (oil leaks, fluids etc) but if everything looks good and the obd reading looks fine should I purchase it? I'm getting it for 5k CAD. Thanks!
ОтветитьYour money hungry dude
ОтветитьCool that’s it’s black with tuxedo as well
ОтветитьEverybody on Y-T have this car.....and nobody ask the quaestion how????because this AMG CLK are very very rare.....😄😝
ОтветитьHow’d you get the headlights so clean ?
ОтветитьHello Car Wiz , can you tell me how to get my 02 clk 430 ,all my windows have tendacy to go Down while Driving, any Sugestions Welcome. Thk You.
ОтветитьPlease do a Early w140 V8 s class
ОтветитьI see this one becoming a classic, anyone disagrees? Hugely underrated
ОтветитьIt's a 5.4 liter V8, not 5.5. They may call it a CLK 55, but the engine is a 5.4. Great car. Very good videos.
ОтветитьOne of the last good looking and well Built CLks, got the E320 4matic wagon (S210) and it’s been hella reliable even when neglected. No spec of rust, no mechanical issues, no accident 1 owner vehicle, 3rd row seats… msrp was 57k back in 01. Bought it for just 1k with 138k miles. Shes at 142 now. My other car is a W140 merc, the degradation of quality is kinda visible since the 140 was the last hurrah from merc while spending a billion dollar on the 140 project. The S class of this 2000s was a big flop, the CLK and E classes were okay. Keep up bringing these early 2000s and 90s mercs. Such a treat to the eye with their tech and complexity while being subtle and elegant, built like no other.
ОтветитьMy CLK goes into limp mode when put the foot down, that's the throttle sensor problem, you are a wizard... easy fix thanks.
ОтветитьDoes replacing the engine mounts really help that much? Im having a little vibrations from my -97 CLK 200 engine when idleing and in motorway speeds too. Wondering if that would help, I just really dont want to do it for nothing, I mean expensive ass h*ll with your prices atleas.
ОтветитьI had one of these in silver years ago. Absolutely one of the finest cars I've ever owned. Regretted it almost immediately, after I sold it. The only thing I disliked about it was that Mercedes had not yet gone to rack and pinion steering on this model. That would have made linear steering much more accurate. And just as Car Wizard was alluding to, these cars were still of an era when Mercedes were clean and elegant designs. Not the silly LED eyebrows and such of modern Mercedes.
ОтветитьNice car, lucid talk and well displayed
ОтветитьI don't own a car, can't drive but I love your videos
ОтветитьI slowed the video down to 50% to check out AMG's badging on the door panels' wood trim, and had a great laugh. Mrs. Wizard, forgive me.. Gotta check it out though. Not to pick on Mrs. Wizard or anyone else, but one can make anyone sound rather intoxicated by doing this... Good fun
ОтветитьGot the 2002 CLK 320. Burgundy over gray leather interior. Great color combo.
Just did a filter with synthetic oil topped off fluids...$130.00
Replaced front rotors brake pads and calibers wheel bearings...$1400.00
Replaced 10 yr. old battery with a new Diehard. $250.00
Got 130,000 miles on it and it drives like new. 25-28 miles per gallon V-6. Some upholstery wear on drivers side. Air-conditioning needs adjustments, trunk springs really to strong. Need two 2025 batteries for key fob. Looking for a touch up on exterior G-7 Burgundy & clear coat next.
Any feedback friends? Please share! Thank you!
I wanna know about the Ferrari behind you
ОтветитьHello Mr Wizard!! I recently had some custom work on my 2002 clk55 amg and the folks who did the work I feel must have grounded something out.
What was installed was a complete body kit, wrap, hood, rims, tires and air Suspension. They had my car for almost a year as I didn’t pressure them since their rep for custom work was very good.
After almost a year and bad communication i demanded my car back. When I got it back, it looked great but now when I drive I hear noise through my speakers. Radio doesn’t work. When I turn on my blinkers, I hear the loud “thump thump, thump thump” of blinker noise through the speakers.
When I complained they told me it was “coincidence”. I don’t think so. I feel they broke a ground or have something shorted. I did some research and I believe I seen that all the main wiring harnesses are behind the seat in the trunk side.
If this is correct, where can I go about finding info on removing my rear seat to gain access to see if something is obvious? Fyi, I did install disconnects on my air suspension wiring so I was able to disconnect all their work but the grounding noise is still there.
Someone mentioned maybe an Ariel antenna issue. I’m going to see if I can get info on that.
Thanks and hope you can help
W208 the last real coupe with star on the hood. and as a convertible a dream
ОтветитьI have owned my 2002 CLK 55 black cabriolet for over 7 years now. Its not a daily driver by any means although it could be, at 70k nothing has ever gone wrong with it. Its been tuned by Kleeman but I really wish I could find a set of headers for it.
ОтветитьThanks Wizard, I am looking at one of these now. It has 96,000 on it and I am a DIY guy. Like dropping an engine in my 2000 XJ, and rebuild the front suspension on my Volvo V70. I looked up parts for this AMG, and was surprised how affordable the wear parts wear. So, would this be a good, 2nd fun car for a person like me?
Ответитьis the non AMG model at 110K miles safe to buy?
Ответитьmy CLK 55 AMG 2003 had a battery drain problemfor the longest time, found out it was the power seat. i just unplugged it now it works fine
ОтветитьWhat is the estimated cost of repair to have the engine and transmission mounts replaced. I might have missed it 😕
ОтветитьDid the early clk’s have the legendary m119 engine?
ОтветитьOwner of a 02’ 430 here. Absolutely love my car and looking to add power to it. I didn’t know that about the throttle position sensor. Makes much sense! But it’s a great car I turn heads every day and I use it everyday no major issues.
ОтветитьJust bought one of these today it’s wicked
ОтветитьI have a 2001 E430 4 Matic and I have always thought that I have to press the accelerator further in order to get it going from a stop and I wondered if it would be possibly the throttle position sensor as you mentioned in this video with this car? Thanks!
ОтветитьI'm in the market for one of these...just have to sell my W140 first. Wish me luck
ОтветитьHi mate, writing from Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia, around 260km west of Melbourne, by the sea. Bought my 2001 CLK 55 AMG in November 2019. Still only 204000kms on the odometer. I noticed that the time & temp pixels on your dash are also not working; same as mine. How can they be repaired? My car is a smooth ride. Silver with black interior. She still turns heads! Love your videos! Thanks .
Ответитьmy dad owned one of these in early 2012 i have very profound memories sitting in those back seats and opening and touching those cup holders.
ОтветитьI had to do the mounts on my 55 and it drives like a dream now.
ОтветитьAm i the only one that just scrolls through every single interior overview?…
Ответитьdo the w208 have M113 compressor ?
ОтветитьHi mate, writing to you from Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia. Bought my 2001 CLK 55 AMG in late 2020, she's almost done 203,000 kms and is superb to drive. Love the rumble from the engine and the amazing torque. Great video - excellent to see someone who genuinely knows his stuff!
ОтветитьLove the clk w208 ist's a real good car
ОтветитьJust bought one of these, shop said... Need Engine and trans mounts and every suspension part needs replaced 😂 FML
ОтветитьNaturally Aspirated Engines are simply the best drive you’ll ever experience
ОтветитьLove you Car Wizard been with you to the start and have just come back to see how your doing! Over 600k I’m subscriptions? Amazing 🤩 well done 👍🏾 all power and positivity from your UK 🇬🇧 viewers
ОтветитьI have a 2001 CLK55 AMG with 89,000 miles on it. Awesome running car and not overly technical.
ОтветитьHi Car Wizard, thanks for all the informative content you have provided regarding which used cars to buy and avoid. I am interested in buying a low mileage 1994 or 1995 Mercedes E320 Cabriolet. As you probably know, this was a 2 year only run of extremely expensive car which were overbuilt and overengineered by MB, with monocoque frame, a stout chassis and bulletproof driveline. There was a wiring harness issue which was handled by recall. My question to you is whether or not I should consider buying one given the age and repair costs if any are necessary? Besides the wiring harness, are there any other issues I should be aware of before purchase? Thanks for your input.
Ответитьi think a cool thing you should have pointed out with this car, is the fact that it from 2002, and it is amg, and it still uses a steering box. how well these cars drive, you would think it had a rack. that being said, great video =D
ОтветитьThis is my dreamcar😍, I love everything from this car!!!😍😍😍, I hope I can buy it in 5 years. Gotta do it with my Opel Corsa for now.
