Nothing has changed.

ОтветитьDear Burstimo: I like your thumbnail expression. Without watching the video, I surmise that the major labels, may as well look into social media significance, such as subs and views, etc., and dig up some direction from this.
ОтветитьThere's a Melbourne based band called Genetic throwbacks on ReverbNation they are like nothing else going I think

How can I work for a record label and join A & R department if I don't have a college degree or work experience?

ОтветитьAwesome interview
ОтветитьThen came AI and GPT, amongst other tech advancements.
His job (along with many others like producers, writers, engineers, etc) will be at our finger tips via an app.
Listening to him really explains why so much of current pop music is so generic and uncreative. The record business people are basically advertising people and the artists crappy new products we don't need.
ОтветитьThis was really interesting!
ОтветитьI’ve done been making music now since last year and I’ve gotten so good! Like i can just make songs off the dome in no time and the producer I bought two beats from told me he wants to make an album with me so im exited… im jus saving up the money now to go to a studio and record professionally cuz as in for right now im just recording in my room almost everyday and improving and finding myself… and all the songs im doing i just take them as ideas or demos for whenever i get to go to a studio.. and I think its a good idea because im always recording… and i dont write i record because that way i make the song ideas into actual songs (reality) i have ready to just hit a studio and do them professionally
ОтветитьA great and very captivating podcast.
2 years later, Joe Kentish's suggestions are still just as relevant.
Good advice
Ответитьi wonder if (and suspect that) there’s a difference between how things are and are done in the US vs the UK, the UK being more amenable to artists.
ОтветитьGreat video. I learned so much! Thanks!
ОтветитьCrazy some these artists are generating tens of millions of dollars in streaming revenue
ОтветитьThanks for this!
Ответить❤️
ОтветитьThis was such an informative video
ОтветитьNobody else hears nothing exceptional in this interview? Like nobody needs the label. ‘A bunch of services, you’ll probably need….’
‘Kinda gets stuff done…’
‘Making sure you’re getting paid and stuff….’
Look up Wendy Day. Lfg Wendy!
How did she have a manager before being succesful? And also a really good one?
Ответитьthis is such an eye openining interview...ive always wanted to get into the industry as an A&R.

ОтветитьThe Waffle House had found its new host
ОтветитьAmazing video
ОтветитьYou don't need a label anymore let me mess around and slip into making a hit song I feel like i can do it all on my own
Ответитьfirst take yo time and make 15 good songs. Than think about beeing or breaking anything. Do some gigs, whatever. Stop believing in fairytales. some dudes writes 1 song per day full recorded. even 3
ОтветитьExcellent interview with sensible advice and an insight to the modern day music business 👍
ОтветитьI’m in the US, but I would love to be signed by Warner. I’m currently working on making my first album, but I’m a minor so I can’t exactly release it. I make rock music and I’m still trying to figure out who I am as an artist and who I am as a person. Thank you for making this, it gives a lot of insight to all artists ❤️❤️
