I just got majore purple 6 and it came without the tool for truss rod adjustment or whammy bar hardness , that's ridiculous lol
ОтветитьI personally wouldnt recommend looking down the neck like that to check if its straight or not. If you are not very very experienced you are most likely not going to see that. I put a capo on the first fret and press down on the last fret. Then I press down in the middle between these points. If i notice that the string needs to be pressed down very very slightly to hit the fretboard in the middle then i am golden. By very very slightly I mean probably less than half a milimeter or so. If its more the neck needs to be straightened. If the string is already hitting the fretboard in the middle when you fret both ends of the fretboard the nech is too straight and its going to buzz. Its a feel thing. I just play to see if I still encounter any buzzing when I adjusted it. If thats the case I just give it a bit more relief.
ОтветитьI’m partially blaming (or is it crediting?) you for my purchase of the new Jason Richardson 7 guitar, that and the sick Chimaira riffage.
ОтветитьExtremely strings is high, because if you see the neck pocket it’s too deep, neck looks like have a angle to the body, not from 😂 for this money, it’s insane piece of crap geometry instrument. You need a 2-2,5 mm neck shim… what a shame music man:(( one more, first and last strings is extremely close to the corner frets, it’s a big fail! Need to be different saddles, or little wider neck! For this price range take this guitar, with allot of problem, and wrong geometry it’s so stupid in my opinion…
Ответитьthe action at my 12th fret is .05 inches, but .07 inches at the 24th fret. do i need to tighten or loosen the truss rod? or is this normal? thanks
Ответитьwhat would be the ernie ball string equivalent for that string gauge, paradigm? 10-56?
ОтветитьThose nyxl are well worth the extra money. Nothing comes close. I just got an 11 to 52 nyxl set.
ОтветитьHey Rob, loved the vid! I've got this 7 string I want to convert into this tuning (Drop G). That gauge you used seems like it would be too light for me. Currently my guitar has 9-52 on it and it sucks. It's in B standard. The low B just feels and sounds terrible. And trying to play 5th chords with it sucks. To give more details about the guitar, it's an Ibanez Universe with a Floyd Rose and the scale length from where the locking nut ends to the middle of the 12th fret is about 12.5 inches. The Floyd Rose is sinking into the body so definitely not enough tension there. Given what I've said, what string gauge do you recommend? Any information you can give would be helpful. I'll try to watch your other videos about this topic but this is the only one specifically about 7 strings and it has armed me with lots of useful information.
ОтветитьThis kids definitly into something heavy.... 🤘👿
ОтветитьYou gotta be one of my favorite guitarists bro. Love your technique. God Bless
ОтветитьThis was perfect, dude. The level of detail is so much appreciated. Keep doing what you do!
ОтветитьThat's one fancy-pants-metal guitar. I love the finish. It looks like it belongs in a museum.
Ответитьthanks for the info , love ur videos , what is that case you use to set uo the guitars ? i kinda like it
Ответитьi never get enough of watching you on 7s :D yeah, theyre my guilty pleasure lol
ОтветитьThanks for linking me to this Rob. I missed this one. Sick riffs! Can't wait to have that SN-1 in my hands.
Ответить🔥🔥🔥OHIO🔥🔥🔥
ОтветитьThis is probably a dumb question lol I've played guitars with Floyds or something similiar to it, like the Edge Zero. but i have never seen a floating bridge guitar with no Locking nut or fine tuners...how on Earth does that thing stay in tune with no locking nut?? does it have locking tuners on the headstock? lol Rob? or anyone who wants to answer?
ОтветитьHey Rob you and that tuning go good together! There's some monster groovy riffs going on here.
ОтветитьRob "guitar tech" Arnold
Ответитьhey, listened to you since farm club....idk...fuck John Petrucci
ОтветитьAwesome video! Seen your recent video demoing the new LTD SN-1, didn't realize who you were at first...than your name hit me like a brick! Always dug Chimaira! Very informative video brother!
ОтветитьI still have that same tuner by boss. Lol. You can tell you've had yours for awhile. D'addario s hmmmm, good strings but definitely pricey. I'm more an Ernie ball (super slinky) person. Lol. When are you coming out with your own signature strings???
ОтветитьFloyd rose have Non Fine And Locking Floyd Rose i think it's reissue cause they do that before they improve to double locking system you can watch guthrie govan
ОтветитьWow, really cool lick there. Have you heard of Sessions? I think you will kill it there!
ОтветитьRob you are awesome 👊🤟🤟🤟🤟
ОтветитьI hear Mark all over that first intro riff at start of the vid 🤘
ОтветитьJesus! That riff at the Beginning!!!! ARRRGH!
ОтветитьDude holy shit... that tune at the beginning!!!! It makes me wanna write. Haha
ОтветитьDude, the music. The music is f'n killer. Get Austin, Mark, Ola and Ryan Martinie to form a superband. Easy peasy. Lol. I have no idea what I'm saying. The riffs here are killer though.
ОтветитьThis is completely unrelated to the video. I'm just commenting because this is your most recent video and you're always super responsive. Rob, I always thought you were one of the most underrated players of your era. HUGE fan here. I learned damn near every song from The Infection. Heart of it all was a particular pleasure for me and greatly influenced my style and interests. Glad to see you active and uploading.
ОтветитьIs your friend going to be playing The Discovery on that guitar? :)
ОтветитьThose are some of the sickest riffs that I have heard in a LONG time. I kept replaying the intro... Crushed it.
ОтветитьRob, I’m the dude always asking you questions and shit. All of the technical knowledge you’ve displayed in this vid, was it self taught thru internet videos, etc or did you just naturally learn it all over the years playing in bands? I’ve always taken mine in to get them worked on. I’m not the most handy guy. I can chugga chugga like nobody’s binnnnness tho
ОтветитьWhat's up with dying your hair man? Embrace the gray! Haha Just kidding, great video, great guitar and playing and it is really weird watch you play something that's not ESP.
On a side note, Mudvayne haa returned, now it's Chimaira's turn! Sorry for the letter, keep the videos coming!
Holy shit those riffs.
Inject them to my veins!!!!
Yeah that's why I had to go with the Sterling model of this guitar. Both are beautiful and feel amazing no matter what style you prefer. Great vid, dude, you got another sub.
ОтветитьCrate? Been years since I’ve seen one of those.
ОтветитьIs drop G in 7 string is drop C in 6 string?🧐
ОтветитьIf you dig the floating non-locking bridge, check out the Music Man Petrucci line and some of the recent Charvels. An ESP RA custom with a non-locking floating trem sounds awesome to me. :p
ОтветитьKiller Chimaira riffage there! I could hear Mark ripping in some lines. These are great videos, even if I have the experience of swapping strings it's cool you add a bit of jamming, with presentation on the guitar, timelapsed overhead view. I haven't seen anything like this on the net. Great job man. Inspiring me to keep playing despite my crazy day job and parenting!!!
ОтветитьCan you speak on fretbuzz and setup a bit. Is it possible to eliminate and what is acceptable. Thanks!
ОтветитьI notice a lot of dislike for the 10-59 strings. Jason himself runs 11-58 tuned to drop F# . Always stays in tune watching him live. I think the note sounds brighter with a thinner string, and your fingertips don’t get destroyed like on a .64 or .74 string.
ОтветитьYou and Jason should do a collab. Would be some wild shit 😜
ОтветитьNice riffs, can't wait for the new chimera album
ОтветитьGood setup video. But I think 59 is way too thin and floppy for drop G. It's more a drop B/Bb string gauge. Maybe try something massive like 70/74 to get that low chunk tight.
ОтветитьLooks like a nice guitar
ОтветитьI pay £18 a pack for Elixir 10-59s. You can still get standard stuff like EB for £6, but all the fancy stuff like the NYXL etc are all pricey now.
Ответитьwell it's no RA600 but I'll take a video of Rob Arnold riffing any day of the week no questions asked!
ОтветитьY'know, there aren't a lot of guitarists today, where you can listen and instantly recognize who they are. You're one of those guitarists.
Ответить
