My le bomb le killed people??
ОтветитьThis didn't really scare me at all. That's not so much a brag as just that I've already kind of thought about all this and this is more just reiterating what I already know about the nature of this sort of thing. The only reason I'm not worried about something like this is because worrying wouldn't do anything. I'm completely powerless, so it's not worth putting the mental energy into, I'd rather just mentally abstract it until I don't have to think about it, because what good would it do me to bother? Just keep living life until you don't have one anymore.
ОтветитьDestroying the world in Plague Inc: hehe I’m such a monster
Destroying the world in Defcon: what have I done
The solution to Defcon and Nuclear war, is incredibly simple but not simple to engender. The way to stop anyone launching is to engender the concept that there is just one group, US, I e The human species. Then launching a weapon system against yourself is patently stupid. Like pulling an axe or a knife on yourself. You can still position forces and have limited skirmishes, policing problem areas, but launches should never occur.
But someone at least seems to always want to find a way to win, when the unavoidable truth is, there is no winning a nuclear war.
The scary thing about Defcon, illustrates the terrifying conclusion that humans can be tricked via a game into doing truly horrifying things they'd never do if the stakes were real. We need to evolve our thinking.
*nuclear
ОтветитьThis is First Strike but with extra Nukes
ОтветитьLess than 10% of the population will die...immediately.
ОтветитьHere after oppenheimer...
ОтветитьTTW
ОтветитьIt's Nuke - Lee - R. NOT nuke - U - Lar. That's not a word.
ОтветитьI think now I realize why Hitler killed himself. It’s not because he was losing.
It was because he knew making the bomb would ensure our eternal damnation and he wanted to go out before his nation made it.
It may be a theory but God help us all
It’s basically ”The Day After: The Game” or “Missile Command but you get to fire the nukes”
ОтветитьTNO: allow me to introduce myself
ОтветитьI play this game,is their compatible with with cellphone?
Ответить😐
ОтветитьLet the nukes fly!
ОтветитьIts scary that in 2023, we are 90 seconds to Midnight.
ОтветитьDEFCON players: Oh dear god, ive killed so many innocents. What am I doing?
Hoi4 players: lmao i just nuked Moscow for the 15th time
DEFCON: everybody dies
mf's is Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the the Philippines
the solution is simple dont play the game see i already won
ОтветитьOther actual wargames by think tanks and the military that simulated conflicts that could escalate to nuclear deployment came to the same conclusion: panic firing of nuclear weapons was a real possibility when an adversary was losing and the regime had its "back against the wall."
"Horrifying" doesn't begin to describe that possibility.
But what if you’ve already lost the game and see your enemy winning?
ОтветитьTbh, to me nuclear war isnt that scary, i mean if your not in he blast zone then yeah your gonna be terrified but if you live in that fire ball zone, you wouldnt even know what happened, your atoms would break apart in less than a second
ОтветитьI shided myself
ОтветитьBought this game many years ago and still have it on my shelf. It did make me think of Wargames and it was absolutely chilling to think about the prospects of a real nuclear war.
ОтветитьThis could scare only new age soft kids born after the 1990....... 😂😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣
ОтветитьI wanna play
ОтветитьDefcon’s a really fun game when you turn the sound effects off and play loud music so you don’t have to think about the horrific events that are happening before you.
Ответитьchernobyl was an accident, though. Nuclear war is something intentionally decided upon and ordered to be carried out. Still, I kinda want to play this game. Lol!
Ответить“The nuclear arms race is like two sworn enemies standing waist deep in gasoline, one with three matches, the other with five.” - Carl Sagan
ОтветитьWell this got frightenly more serious
ОтветитьDamn this is kinda like Plague Inc. except that ‘plague’ is nuclear warfare.
ОтветитьI didn't play DEFCON but i did play ICBM very similar to DEFCON but more lighthearted. I still remember the first time i saw all the enemy missiles launch and i hurried to press my battleplan into action... then all the lines from the missiles was drawn out and everything was gone...
I'm not a guy that cry but i ended up having tears streaming down my face because of the level of destruction that had just occured and even when all the nukes had landed... the game wasn't over there were more destruction to partake in, i was very scared.
DEFCON is not just an Air Force term.
ОтветитьWhen the nukes are cold an the defcon is 5. İts time to go with a click of mouse
ОтветитьI ran a little experiment what if all countries nuked one country turned out kills everyone in the country
ОтветитьI’m pretty sure the game was made as a warning, you know for each country on the planet.
ОтветитьThey should make all the world leaders play this game in a room that emulates a bunker feel.
ОтветитьWatch Threads (1984) a docu-drama that's starts out pretty grim and goes from there.
ОтветитьI have always wanted a World War to Happen in the Cyber World! I love these types of games
ОтветитьNuclear war means end of a failed life mutation on earth called humans
Ответитьkanye started defcon 3 so be cerful
Ответитьyou know the worst part could be just being inside the ISS and just watching the earth slowly light up as bright lights flash through the atmosphere and the earth slowly fading to a red/black color of what is now left
ОтветитьGen X here.
Total thermonuclear war is not horrifying to me at all anymore. When I was a child I had nightmares but back then was a vivid Cold War.
Why I am not scared?
Because I have NO control over it so they (whoever they are) either can nuke humanity into extinction or STFU....
Regardless, most of us have no control over this so if you have fears let it go......and give them the finger.
Gee, what a coincidence they flooded us with fear propaganda about a deadly pandemic months before the same people declared a deadly pandemic which they used to take away our freedoms and cause a global economic collapse 🤷🏼♂👀
ОтветитьThe horror of nuclear war gets dampened somewhat once you figure out how to play the game properly. It's entirely possible to wipe out the entire population of an enemy continent while suffering no nuclear strikes on your own cities in a 1v1 (for example, North America vs Russia) if you play properly. Even in a FFA, good diplomacy and micro will let you win a conventional victory even in the event of all-out global thermonuclear war... while suffering "acceptable losses". And of course the game is great to play with some good friends and have a laugh over.
ОтветитьA game I had waited a long time to play, ever since seeing WarGames as a child and learning the nuclear lesson.
Ответитьit complicated tho i dont even know how to play it
