This is a deeply flawed essay. And the kicker that the problem with Disney is that they simply stopped writing good stories is laughable. This piece lacks hella context. If the multiple flops was happening to Disney alone that would be one thing, but flops are happening across major studios: WB, Universal, Paramount, even with non "woke" properties (something Patrick also never bothers to define). Mission Impossible III, The Flash, Fast X, Transformers etc. all failed to turn a profit.

The budget across all these films are also enormous just like Disney's biggest films of the year. It's not isolated to one company.

I don't even know where to begin with the CEI score stuff. Is a premise of this essay that the score alone is being used by billionaires to push some anti-conservative agenda to remove the youth from traditional family values and culture? Also, which cultures, Patrick? Whose family values? And are you suggesting that this in turn is what is causing Disney films to fail? Blackmailing billionaires? "Very powerful billionaires are very much against conservative values." Seriously? This shit made me pause the video and laugh out loud for a minute. I was vibing with this channel before, but is was incredibly poor research done without the slightest bit of context, historical or political, and fails to grapple with the broader crisis facing Hollywood as a whole.

Not defending Disney. Disney is an corporate soul-draining capitalist juggernaut. But the idea that their, or BlackRock, motivations are driven by Human Rights Watch CEI score is just right-wing bonkers.

The live actios movies like Pinnocchio, The Little Mermaid, Mulan, Peter Pan were totally terrible movies; even their original creations from nowdays aren't even getting popular.

I'm not even 40 years old and the decline in the west that I remember is so crazy that it's hard to really understand. The real is that they forgot how to create new ideas almost all there movies and some tv shows were based of off books like the cheetah girls lemonade mouth the little mermaid Hercules (they got his name wrong btw it’s Heracles) Tarzan Pocahontas frozen Rapunzel even the parent trap was a remake of a 50s movie the problem is they forgot what to add onto the story to make it original on its own frozen with the everything but the characters the cheetah girls with plot Hercules by merging Greek characters rapunzel with plot but they stopped making those changes at least good ones anyways
