ОтветитьThank you for this video guys!
Ответить"Sales Engineer" one syllable away from Social Engineer
ОтветитьI read about 100 comments just now. I noticed that the majority of them are people asking questions. The reason for that is this man really did not explain what a pre-amplifier does, what's the difference between a preamp an amplifier, a signal processor, a mixer, and do I need any of these? People are still lost. That's what happens when somebody talks but they really don't explain. Perhaps he should go into politics.
ОтветитьI started selling and then repairing audio equipment starting back in the 80s. If you really need help the best in the business is Crutchfield. They have an extensive Library on everything including, car audio, speaker components, wiring, installation kits. The best part about them they never push a sale on anyone. Just call the 800 number and ask away they are extremely friendly and helpful and carry a full line of anything you can think of as far as Electronics is concerned. Name brand equipment only no garbage. I didn't hear any explanation here about what a pre-amplifier actually does. What the differences between a pre-amplifier a signal processor and a mixer is. Anyone that has an amplifier and does not have the answer to this question will never understand. Unless they're shown or told by a professional.
God bless Crutchfield Audio. They've been around forever. Also have a money back guarantee. I do not work for them.
The average newbies will ask the same question. If all they have is an amplifier.
Do I want a preamp? Or do I want a signal processor. I'm surprised you did not speak on that question. I heard it every day when I was selling audio equipment. Almost forgot, can i just use my mixer ?
very good
Ответитьsuper helpful thanks
Ответитьsales engineers is a ludicrous term
ОтветитьGreat video! You helped me understand the concept perfectly. Btw, i need a plug for my behringer mic100 preamp , does Seeetwater carry those? Thx
ОтветитьI will never have a microphone. Does that mean won't ever need a preamp
ОтветитьThis guy rocks at presenting and seeing my Indian bros represented in the western music world is always wonderful. Bravo SW.
ОтветитьSomebody explain it to me like I’m a 5 year old
ОтветитьSo it’s possible to connect a amplifier to my Apollo twin?
What it’s mean a converter? 😅
Great review!
Question? I have a Yamaha MG 166cx. For some reason, when I plug microphones in, they are always on. And it doesn’t matter if I push the on off button, the microphone stays on. But, I can turn the sound off with the PFL button. Also, the faders don’t turn the volume up or down, I can only control the volume with the master. Do you know what this means?
MICROPHONE( NOISE SIGNAL》PREAMP( NOISE FREE)》POWER AMP(AMPLIFIIED)》SPEAKER
ОтветитьIs software based preamp ie vst3 comparable to hardwares based preamps? Pros and Cons? 😊
Ответитьdoes preamp automatically add gains or we have increase gain manually in the mixer
ОтветитьSo much talk and zero explanation
ОтветитьNitish my man👍
Ответитьexcellent
ОтветитьMany thanks for ur video
pre amp is it important or not
Thanks man! You made it easy to understand and went into details without being boring!
Ответитьboring... who goes into this search looking for an amateur information... I want a comparison to a 500 module and an interface... not what is a preamp... dear god. Please make a video about that. I would watch that video 10 times.
ОтветитьI think it's not a good explanation, as it just explains for what a preamp is used - amplify a weak input signal. put that is what every amplifier is doing. to really explain what an preamp is, you have to point out the difference to a power amplifier.
Ответитьgood lesson
ОтветитьDo you know if EV 50m stick PA system has preamp built in?
ОтветитьCan we just use only microphone & preamp for recording vocal?
ОтветитьHi,
Thanks for your information,
I have the HD500X that i use for vocals but i still don't know if an external preamp for vocal will improve the quality ... what do you think ?
I don"t want to buy a new & modern interface , i just want to improve my vocals with the HD500X ....thank you !
Great teacher! Hope he does more of these videos!
ОтветитьGreat expiation!
ОтветитьI need the reverse of a preamp, to make quieter the signal of the home-theater's frontal speakers and then send it to my stereo amplifier so I can use only one pair of speakers, the cool ones I use to listen to music.
ОтветитьWe not only teach camputer
ОтветитьYes
ОтветитьBro look fried
ОтветитьTwo questions:
1) If you keep your preamp at zero, does that mean that there is no preamp coloring whatsoever, and a line-level signal can be connected to this input without any coloring, in unity gain? And at this point, all preamps sound the same?
2) If I record a mic without cranking up the preamp, and just increase the gain in a DAW, Do I get less preamp saturation, but more noise?
Thank you for teaching me first about the preamp. I will be shopping for good preamp. I would like to do some voice narration to create my first audiobook. Can SweetWater help me choose a bundle for beginners?
ОтветитьThis is a really great introduction to preamps, and the only thing I felt was missing was audio examples of the ways in which different preamps affect the sound of various inputs. I know that's probably beyond the scope of what you aimed to do here, but I think a companion video with examples like that would be instructive in a very helpful way.
Ответитьcan anyone help me out. My Boss ME-80 has a preamp. I would use the setting on my cheaper amps to get it cleaner and more clear. I recently purchased a Twin Reverb amp and feel like it doesnt "need" it. I use humbuckers so I use a little less bass and a little more treble. I feel like my twin is SO clean and loud that it doesnt need a pre-amp. What do you guys think? Any advise or comments are appropriated
ОтветитьThank you for calling Microsoft technical support
ОтветитьThis was so helpful. You're a fantastic teacher
ОтветитьIf I have a preamp and want to record, do I still need an audio transmitter?
Ответитьwhat a fantastically informative video!
ОтветитьI’ve recently discovered Sweetwater tutorial videos and have had a multitude of questions answered, that I’ve wondered about for years.
Thank you guys so much for your expertise and excellent teaching skills.
In the vain of the microphone he is spot on. Line level can go 2 ways. Straight line plus gain, and straight line and no gain. Technically the line level input basically is attenuated by the preamplifier as you don't want the full line level going to your power amplifier. Things get real loud really fast. Passive and Active Preamplifiers have their purpose. So in the video his focus is on Microphones but when you talk about line level too as you will have beyond to the mic preamplifiers, you have different options. Mic preamplifiiers are about the match to your microphone. My Shure SM7B is the black hole of gain. Preamplifiiers are really cool animals if you understand what you want.
