I am using a canon ELPH330 but before I just got it like a week ago I was using my iPhone 12th to film

I’m a beginner I need something where I can be sitting in a room and going into places on the move making funny skits that has nice quality and good sound nothing really fancy just to do skits that can get different angles. I’m new to this have no idea where to start budget other 500 bucks any suggestions?

thank you for this great video, was very helpful for sure. I want to record a reaction video, I am finding lag when doing the recording, it is so frustrating. I have made all the changes that chatGPT suggest, my settings seem to be ok. i have unplugged and repluged the cam link etc. etc. i am using a mac mini m2 with 8 gigs of ram. I do not know what to next to improve the video quality? feel frustrated etc etc. i am also getting lag on zoom, not so much when i record with quick time player, but still there is a little lag still, i have turned off every other program so that only obs is playing. do i need a new camlink? aghhhh if you could help that would be great.

ive watched loads and loads of videos on cameras but not one has ever said a camera for what i do.
I film videos duilding Lego sets so the camera is normally only a 12 - 20 inches away from what im filming.
Been using an S21 Ultra mobile phone but wanted to go camera specific.
Watched loads of videos and was pulled towards the DJI Osmo Action 4 - it does not work well at all.
Started to use it as a time lapse camera and it really struggles close up as its not really designed for it.
Have now gone back to the phone for now.
Ive now been drawn to the Sony zv1 but theres no videos of anyone using it in timelapse mode close up.
Its always of distance shots of sky etc
There is absolutely no info out there on how any camera performs at short distance.
Any advice as i not got money to keep buying cameras that dont work how i want to use them.
or maybe cameras are not designed to be used for close up?
and ive not got thousands to spend but again, most videos ive seen go from a mobile phone to a 3k setup!

I was using a Pixel 6 and the. My wife gifted me a Sony camcorder. I found the flip out screen is an exceptionally useful feature. Sadly, the Pixel image was better. But I'm not going back because of the flip screen.

I'm using a mid range smartphone lol. Samsung galaxy a54. I'm pretty happy with the quality. But always looking to improve. I love being able to pause the recording as I go, makes "editing" simple. Then I can upload straight to YT on the app with no hassle. Are there any actual cameras that can do similar things (pause recordings as you go?) Thanks!
