Top 5 Total Conversion Mods for Crusader Kings 3 (CK3)

would like to see a tales of ireland style mod for ancient germany, or maybe gaul, would be interesting

Currently have been working solo for a couple years on a total conversion mod, zooming in on the Netherlands turning every municipality into a county, and every province being a Kingdom. Almost done with first version can't wait to release it for people :3

to be honest these mods are better then dlc

Top 3 IMO and I've tried pretty much all of them.

1. Lord of the Rings: It is the best overall total conversion in terms of gameplay, balance, bringing the world of middle earth to CK3.
2. Fallen Eagle: It has the best game design adding new gameplay systems, laws, that are well thought out.
3. Warcraft: Does the best job world building, bringing the World and Warcraft to CK3. The main issue I have with it is balance, all holdings can build max number of buildings, races like elves live thousands of years but their fertility is the same as humans and they don't have a boost in disease resistance when they should, you can build massive men at arms armies 17+ starting from the beginning of the game but have no gold to maintain until mid-end game where every battle will be a faceroll.

if someone made a china mod that's similar to the ireland mod i'd be damned playing that

LOL as if there were any reason to play ck3 without mods. Ck2 is easily a better game base. Ck3 has all the mods though and many of them make it better than ck2

Have you honestly never converted an Imperator run (304bc - 495ad with Invictus) and seen the family trees? Running back nearly a thousand years…

Unfortunately the LOTR mod does not work with the latest update of the base game and needs to be fixed. Princes of Darkness is insanely good and has been recently expanded. I'd have thought you'd be more interested in sheep than "sweet sweet beef" - before you get annoyed at that comment I'm from Neath 🤣

I know it's not gonna be as popular yet, but the Stormlight Archive mod has a ton of potential with how much depth that universe has.

I don't think that's the exact lore of PoD. The vampires don't "rule" the world, it's still medieval Europe. But there are territories and sphere of influence of different vampire clans whom were mostly underground. You play not as a true ruler but more of a mafia leader, and the same applies to human characters, they are not rulers of the land, but hunters sent out by their ruler to cleanse vampires.

The Ireland mod is Crazy. The small village I live in is included as a county in the mod. It's kind of strange to see it included.

I tried tales of ireland once a few minths ago. Didn't really like it. Thought the map was undetailed and ugly and some mechanics were a bit unbalanced.

If I use a total conversion mod on a new save file can I still use my old game files that were only slightly modded?

Tales of ireland is my favourite mod at the moment but the one i really cant wait for is the winter king, it was my favourite ck2 mod

I have seen videos about a mod that mix Ck3 and Bannerlord's battles. But I wonder if there's a mod with Calradia's map and lords. It would be so damn good
