I would say Captain America survived the golden age too
Ответить"Variant Nation"
There's got to be a better way to say that
Rember Mr Swarts helped.with the 1964 Comicon that United Fandom.
ОтветитьI stopped at 11: 16 into this video. I couldn't take the BS.. The comentator did not address the opposing claims from Ditko and Kirby. The statement that these adventures occur in real cities proved how unprepared these guys are for telling the story. Ever heard of the CENTRAL CITY-based Fantastic Four? Did these guys mention the ambiguous setting of the Hulk adventures? Only later did the New York and New Mexico reference pop up. Even though you only get bits and pieces from former book store owner Nerdrotic (he is more politcal centered), he is far more reliable.
ОтветитьVery cool to see Marvel and DC spotlighted. I do think the choice of Tony stark, as an arms dealer, was not intended to play off the anti-war movement. Not at his origin.
Stan was very staunchly pro USA.
You can see that in Tales of Suspense stories of the era. Communists are the villains of many Silver Age Marvels.
Aside from protests at Berkeley, while it's before our time, I think the introduction of combat troops in 1965.
Tony is a hero for being an arms producer. Only 1970s writers deal with Stark being out-of-step.
Good narrative flow though.
Stan Lee perpetuated the recon of his Iron Man motives, so it's understandable.
These guys are too nerdy and too fanny too fanboy to be effective presenters.
I already knew all this history; I learned nothing new here
Correction: Hal Jordan WAS NOT a military pilot. He was a civilian test pilot for a company named Ferris Aircraft.
ОтветитьGuys, PLEASE STOP waving your arms around.
And PLEASE try a less emotional speech pattern.
Thanks guys. As an eight year old I bought the first issue of Spiderman. I used to get a quarter allowance a week. I always bought two comic books-twelve cents apiece, and a caramel creme candy, called a bullseye, for a penny. I must confess, I didn't care all that much for Spiderman. I used to have a bit of fear of spiders. I think that's why I wasn't much drawn to him. Yuk yuk. Get it? Drawn to him? I liked the D.C. guys, especially Green Lantern. My friend Steve Jones however almost instantly switched to Marvel. He called Superman "super sickening. Ha ha. Hindsight being twenty-twenty, I should have moved heaven and earth to get my hands on as many of those Spiderman issues as possible.
ОтветитьI can sum up the silver age: A lot space ships, aliens, radiation, robots, lasers, beams, and rays.
ОтветитьI think ever since 2008 we've in the Movie Age of comics
ОтветитьLooking back, Marvel was flat out better than DC in the Silver Age. The Art was on another level. The art is probably even better than whats out now. Even when stacked up against stuff like Infinte Crisis and Watchmen Doomsday clock's beat looking issues
ОтветитьFrankenstein wasn't released by Paramount. They are literally called Universal Monsters. Released by Universal Studios.
ОтветитьMore of this pls
ОтветитьBlack panther wasn’t the first black superhero it was lion man
Ответитьthese got me hooked!!! SUBSCRIBED
ОтветитьHa ha, I found that exact Frankenstein model in the attic of an old farmhouse in New Hampshire in 2011. I recognize the gravestone. It says Aurora 1961 on the underside. The one I found was un assembled in mint condition and I got almost 300 for it on ebay.
ОтветитьWhere did you get that light blue Japanese Batman shirt?! Must buy.
ОтветитьWhat if … Ditko initially drew Flash
ОтветитьLove those vintage comics. So much history. So much value. So incredible
ОтветитьThis man said variant nation and I really heard Aryan nation lol
ОтветитьSad to see where comics are today.
ОтветитьThese kids are spazzes dude trying to make it to much of a show just talk guys it’s not a movie
ОтветитьWish this was an hour longer
Ответить"The popularity of the Batman show is beginning to... wa(y)ne." Guru looks right at the camera.
ОтветитьFor Me 8 yrs; old 1965 - 18 yrs. old 1975 My Last yrs. was Comic at .25 Cents. Stop at .30 Cents.
ОтветитьThis is the most excited about hearing about comics I’ve been.
ОтветитьTALK ABOUT THE BIRTH OF FANDOM AND JERRY G. BAILS AND FIRST COMICON. IN SILVER AGE THEY LISTEN TO FANDOM.
ОтветитьSlightly irrelevant but SA Superman is very very OP and without holding back he definitely can sneeze solar systems, easily destroy planets and lift many many planets and punch through reality and easily beat characters like Doomsday, Lobo and Darkseid (avatar) if he wanted.
HOWEVER there are many who can do the same thing and scale directly to him but people don't know characters like SA Hulk, Thor, Silver Surfer have feats on the same tier but they are lesser known than SA supes feats. Imo SOMETIMES he is overrated and overestimated Classic/SA Silver Surfer and Thor would clap or at the very least stalemate SA Superman and they both hold back A LOT as much as supes does.
We're gonna start the silver age with "SPEED" and then we're gonna end the silver age with "SPEEDY DOING SPEED AND SHOOTING HEROIN."
ОтветитьNot paramount, it's universal
Ответитьthis video is so informative, saved for later rewatchs.
ОтветитьGreat synopsis of the silver age by Jeff and Tom
ОтветитьStan Lee + Jack Kirby were a dream team powerhouse. You had untold imagination from Stan Lee with new characters like Spider-Man and then an unbelievable artist who created the blue print for comic artists to follow for decades to come with fluid 'animated' stills that invoked power and motion on a still page.
ОтветитьThis the best comic you tube
ОтветитьThor and Daredevil are the only two DVD ROMS that I don't have that they won't make that I want. Sorry, that they stopped making them. I know that they wanted to expand their Marvel site. I understand. Big disappointment. Stick to your word.
ОтветитьThe silver age > golden age 🤷🏾♀️
ОтветитьSilver age 🔥
ОтветитьThought he said “Aryan nation” every time he tried to say variant. Lmao
ОтветитьComic books are seeds that can grow into something bigger.
ОтветитьKennedy was shot in 63.... 66 was 3 years after that not 2.
ОтветитьWhere did you get your info? Every (3 different articles) story I've read indicates the Hulk became green due to printing problems.
ОтветитьSmash me some hulk, Tom...love me some flash, just call me an old Flasher. Lol...love you guys, keep up the great work.
Ответить"Just had this successful show, of batman but that's beginning to 'wayne.'" lol great unintentional pun

I love how it's DC's trinity (Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman) that survived the Golden age of Comics.
ОтветитьEven when I was kid...I thought DC comics were kinda lame, so I read Marvel instead. It was Jack (King) Kirby and Stan (The Man) Lee...nuff said.
ОтветитьCorrection.... five superheroes survived the transition. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Green Arrow. The latter two didn't have their own book, but continued uninterrupted in the pages of More Fun Comics and Adventure Comics.
ОтветитьThe bettle looking like smoosh
