These questions he's asking are way too broad, it's impossible for the guy to give any useful answers. Being successful requires you to take lots of little steps in the right direction, there's many pieces to put together, he could spend hours talking about each piece.

private equity is incredibly lucrative but because of that, its tough to work in the industry. you most likely have to have a high gpa from an elite university, then go into consulting or investment banking which is competitive before pe firms will give you a look

A message for the today generation -Study Hard

The one thing that was actually good advice is the very last thing he said and probably the most overlooked. Surround yourself with great people, and get in the rooms where these people are.

first of all you need to get a masters in finance or the equivalent of that. then you have to get hired as a PE consultant or associate for a law firm or a hospital. that's what that joke of a person did not mention. keeping it a secret is not the way to get things done. and this is public information by the way. my cousin did this. he went to pittsbiurgh to "work in the oilfields". but he didnt mention that he got his bachelors in finance and worked for a provste equity firm, thus moved to pittsburg to do some consultations for whatever oil company that was in pittsburgh. he wasnt an oil worjer, he was doing something else. he wouldnt tell me when i asked him. hes over here praising my minimum wage job like its the best, and hes iver here , making 6 figures a year and acting like hes better than us.

Private equity is a scourge on society. You are talking to a vampire.
