I saw many good looking sofa, but the cost of the cushions are ridiculous offsetting any savings by making the sofa ourselves.

I've been really into watching woodworking videos for the past couple of months. I'm excited to get some basic tools are give it a go someday. I think this would be a great build to try, after making some basic items first of course. And I think the price for the plan is super reasonable. For me, that's saying a lot cause I don't like paying for plans or patterns haha. I'm cheap! Also, I love the extra storage you added to the arm! I'd add storage to both arms and I'd build a platform with drawers for storage, stack this frame on top of it and add adjustable legs to match the height of the storage platform. So when it's a couch, you have storage but you can also still pull it out to be a bed if needed! Love that idea! Hopefully I can attempt it sometime soon ((":

Can the sides be cut in a rounded/wavy pattern or would that affect the stability?

why didn't you attach a wood bar to the inner side of the moving bars as a break/stop point, to prevent all opening the bed too wide and removing half of it?

@DIY Creators: This is a beautifully functional piece, but it’s also a super heavy piece. Are there reasons you would not consider using thinner boards for this build?
