Owen comes over really badly in this - rattled, chippy, combative without substance. Lost on points.

"when we went to Australia to meet Murdoch and all of his people..."
they went there to court Murdoch!
nothing diplomatic about it....he has just confirmed what he denied!

Campbell has shifted during the interview from 'Thatcher was terrible' to 'Thatcher was awesome'....whatever he saus now is irrelevant, because Thatcher started privatisation of our infrastructire amd Campbell and Blair continued it deliberately! So, his "concerns" over what might have happened under a Corbyn government, have already become reality for the people under the Tories!
What Campbell doesn't want to see is nationalisation of national infrastructure....he HATES national democractised socialism.

Oh... and he supported an illegal war for no reason

He won 3 elections because the UK electorate just wanted an alternative tory party - which plastic toryblair's generic politics nu-labour tory2 party was and still is. (It's 'much more complicated than that' to get a 1 party state in through the back door by means of generic politics.)

The Global Financial Crisis or 2007-08 was principally caused by the Subprime Mortgage Crisis in the US and also the Sovereign Debt crisis in the EU. The UK was massively affected by this because of our reliance on the global financial services markets.

Difference between Owen Jones and Alastair Campbell is that Campbell wants to know the truth and Owen wants what he believes in to be true

If we had had a general election instead of a referendum on Brexit, Corbin would have been Prime Minister. But i think the window of opportunity was small, populism was on the rise and that cohort of voters who would have swung it on a Jeremy being the wind of change, anti establishment warrior, ticket had their heads turned by Trumpism and rise of the new right. As it stands and stood in the past the left wing of the Labour party and socialist community in Britain will not be enough to win a general election, they need "middle England" the whole of Scotland and bits of Wales as an and/or prop, that means Blair like compromise on something, to keep those voters, in Blairs case the preceding Thatcher economic reforms and policies of private ownership of utilities.

The editing is so weird in this. The weird stuff with the coffee cup etc I can't work out whether they want to be ttoi or the office, or a serious candid meeting. I like both
but felt like the meeting was cheapened a little.

Owen , like his hero Corbyn, seems incapable of policy change or intellectual political development. Campbell brought this out beautifully here.

Pretty sure I recall Jones speaking against Corbyn, until he got some kind of relative ‘popularity’. Could be the passage of time playing tricks on me of course. If my recollection is right, would be nice to hear him say what changed.

Tax discussions are always aimed at earned income. Never at profits. “The top 5%” Owen talks about are nowhere near as rich as the owners.

Campbell is a mass-murdering war criminal and you should be ashamed for even talking to him and being a part of his rehabilitation. Iraqi lives clearly do not matter.

Framing the Iraq war as 'disastrous' as you do in the description feeds the imperialist lie that Western wars or interventions are ever 'humanitarian', as opposed to cynically calculated with no regard to the loss of life.
