1 Year Living w/ the 2023 Genesis G70 3.3t Sport Prestige. Is it as Unreliable as Everyone Says?

Everything about the car is great, the only problem is the dealerships, they all suck and this is coming from someone who moved and has dealt with multiple dealerships in two different states. I must say however, the customer service is great, I ended up calling them after a lackluster dealership issue and they where nothing short of professional. Really wish Genesis focused on the dealership and bring up the standards, some of the people I interacted with were laughably unqualified. To address the exhaust, get a custom x pipe setup, drop in the forums, plenty of options available.

What was the code for the blinker issue? And did you reseal your headlight?

Get out of it as fast as you can! Lost 14k on mine when the turbo blew out and Genesis didn’t want out in unless I took it to California when I live 2000 miles away. Genesis is joke . Luxury my ass.

Does the genesis have ambient lighting?

Love the car, beautiful. Disappointed that Siberian ICE is not longer available on 2024 models. Are the wheels stock? Not that I would complain on stock rims/tires. I have seen a few G70's with 20" rims. It looks awesome.

I've been looking at cars for the past year and this car, the volvo s60 and the alfa romeo guilia are in the top 3. Theyre both awd, in my price range beautiful but i loge the look of tue Genesis that much more. And i loge the depreciation on them as a working college student too. The only thing hilding me back is that ive been saving up for a down payment. Im hoping to find one for 30-32k ish which wont be too hard to find next year hopefully

i had a 2020 genesis g70 elite. i drove that thing harder than a ferrari and never had a problem.

He said that the car has a six-year bumper-to-bumper and that’s wrong. All Genesis CPO and New have only a five years or 60,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. No manufacturers give six years for bumper-to-bumper warranties. He made a mistake..

Genesis, a luxury sports sedan. You won’t get backfires and gargling and pops out of the exhaust pipes. That’s for young kids that want loud noises coming from their cars.

I´m currently looking into buying the 2.0l 4 zylinder because we only got that one in germany (and rest of eu)
The car in insanely cheap in barely used condition and fully loaded!
That car lookes amazing and has all the luxurious things that the competitors have.
As you said missing sound and the high gas millage are the things that are kind of holding me back.
(The basically none exsiting tuning options are kind of a bummer as well)

Are you still in possesion of this car? Did more problems came up? And do you know someone who owns the 2.0L version and if they had issues?

I really hope Genesis does not discontinue this in the next few years. I just need a few more years! Once complete my degree and get a big boy job, this will be my first nice new car I’m gonna get.

I bought a 2023 Hyundai palisade off the lot and about 9k miles in I started experiencing a couple issues with the electrical aspect of the car: my screen would go dark out of nowhere and my one day I woke up with a dead battery with no explanation. No lights were left on and the car was too new to have a dead battery

I had headlight condensation too on my '22 3.3 sport prestige. Dealership saw it when I had it in for basic service, they called me and said they were going to replace under warranty. So I've been really happy with Genesis of Southwest Houston's service.

Bought a 2023 3.3 AWD Sport, matt white with red leather in April, '23...have had zero problems.

Great video. It's kind of what i was looking for. On the fence about the G70 due to consumer reports knocking it so much. I love the look but also sad to see the video about the possibility of them discontinuing it. My only big question is what the cost is to repair and are the parts affordable so you can do it yourself

The manual also says the head light is designed with a fan to clear the condensation. If it’s building up then the fan may be faulty. Or maybe the moisture sensor in the headlight not triggering the fan.

so the first mechanical issue is a one-off as its not in database, and a seal going bad in a light is fine. So id say this passes a legit reliability test.

im pretty sure the dealers can technically wreck a car during transport or on a shipping lot and fix them without reporting it to the customer or it hitting car fax

If you wanted more sporty you need the RWD, the AWD isn't meant to be as sporty.

Headlights are ventilated. Thats what they told me at the dealership when i bought my 3.3t. BMW does the same with their split headlights.

I've learned that the G70 works best in Eco mode at 0 - 40 miles, Comfort mode at 40 - 60, and Sport mode in 60 - 80. I average 35 mpg on hwy and 26 mpg city. At best I've gotten 45 mpg. I drive a '24 G70 2.5T RWD.
