Baumi thanks for telling us what a Necronomicon is. :D
Ответитьthe readability of dota has been completely destroyed by the cosmetics. fucked up colour schemes, heroes who look like another hero, copious amounts of particle gore, excessive amounts of legendaries which basically just staple bits and bobs onto your hero, and stuff that's just completely rancid to look at and/or goes against the art style. yeah, you don't HAVE to equip them yourself, but i watched odpixel play dota today and it took me a minute or two to realise he was playing spectre, not venge. part of why i haven't played since 2017
also, don't act like dota didn't peak with ti2 and ti3, bro. i'd say wraith night was the last time dota was truly spicy.
BAUMI. Been ages since I saw one of your videos recommended to me. Miss the old Dota 2 days a lot.
ОтветитьHeyy guys i remember there was a radiant victory animation where a tree grew on the dire ancient for a short while. Or am I just misremembering? If there was any 1 can link me a video?
ОтветитьPoor boy, dota isnt a first world people game, noo poor boy let him privilige again, let dota more exclusive for rich people again 😭😭
ОтветитьIf there's one thing that makes me really optimistic about the game, it's the number of people that not only see Baumi's points but respectfully disagree with him in these comments. Passion for something like a video game comes and goes, and people have highly varied brains and preferences and aims for playing Dota. Personally, I'm just happy to be here. What a cool microcosm of 21st century culture our beautiful game is. :)
ОтветитьThis video itself showcases the beauty of Dota. That it's constantly in flux, even as you make a thesis about what historical elements comprise this moment of the game.
Amazing piece you have made Baumi. And an idea that needs iterating as the game continues to be overhauled repeatedly lol. I dearly hope Icefrog has seen this.
With that in mind, I really want to hear what you think about 7.33 and subsequent patches as they pertain to the content of this video! I am not immersed in the pro meta nor the game minutiae itself anymore so I am eager to hear your opinion.
more gold, more gold and then more gold.
ОтветитьFor me this is the best dota 2 historical video ever (it used to be the Speed Gaming MLG Columbus tribute)
ОтветитьOne buyback per hero sounds awful tbh, as it'd make players even more averse from risk taking.
Ответитьwith lotus pool, it's even more important now to fight for lane control
Ответитьhow are duo lanes are the le new dota thing
bit retarded, stopped watching there
game is still shittier than it was before albeit
back here after the new patch, seems like valve doubled down, more camps more farm everywhere
ОтветитьI spent abouts 8+ years playing dota 1.
played Dota League back in the day too.
dota has changed many times.
there has been a few meta strats on comp line-ups
2-1-2, 3-1-1, 1-1-1 +2 roamers, 2-1-1-1(lol style)
core formula for dota's success has always been that it changes.
dota 2 has been headed in the direction of LoL balance style.
evidenced by the shift to more gank oriented meta, more resources for supps, global CC reduction.
"While different heros are used the purpose of those heros is not very different"
ОтветитьI miss old dota
I ve played dota tell ti3
Then alliance start fcking RAT dota and navi lost the ti and thats when i stop playing
I played dota 2 since the beta around 2012 up until around 2018, then I stopped cause of personal reasons, I recently came back to the game after almost 5 years, and yep, it totallly isn't the game I had left, is the game bad? No, but it isn't the same, and there are some things that are definitely wrong, and should be fixed.
ОтветитьThis is an amazing video but I found the lack of attention on the MAP itself, the cliffs and the paths and how it affects the meta surprising - I've been always thinking about how now since the map is so flat and the different cliffs allow you to stick a ward and see everything and never let enemies come into the territory you have claimed a bit concerning - I'm not too familiar with how it used to be, when I watched the first Internationals I wasn't as aware or good of a dota player (currently high Legend)
Do you have any thoughts about the cliff structures, the double highgrounds, huge obstacles and narrow pathways that existed in tandem with the warding changes?
How did that evolve over the years and how did it affect the game?
dota1 2013 was the best dota version ever!
ОтветитьIf not with its contant change, all of the teams would be in the TI.🤣
ОтветитьHave played it since 2003-4. It's hey day is definitely many years ago. There was a golden age between '04-'06, then a lesser golden age from '12-'14. It's been slowly downhill ever since, with a massive jump off a cliff with this latest patch.
The once great game, is now a freakish shadow of what it once was.Anyone thinking otherwise, hasn't played all of the MOBAs that existed in the WC3 era. Currently Dota is a resurrection of many old ideas that other MOBAs used, some of which predated DOTA, and were supplanted with good reason by dota.
Edit: Many of us made fun of you -apem players haha... -ardm was where it was at back in the day. Very fun times.
Thanks for the video.
It's 7.33. dota 2 is new
Ответитьfor me old dota fun is when every hero can be carry just for casual game not for pro or competitive, but when people start learning that support type hero does deserve any exp on early game or money or kill steal hero and creep that change dota .that strats for winning game thats is for tournament but to casual player is no fun anymore. more people casual player liking dota ,hearth and fun to watch pro player in tournament and that make dota fun to watch and to play. Its happen to lots of game i play ,too focus on competitive for their comfort zone is not same of casual player.that make lots of game feel like not the same anymore.
ОтветитьAny Manchester Reaver fans?
ОтветитьDota is shit the worse matchmaking in any multplayer game. Shit management needs to be replaced
ОтветитьI played league for like 10 years but recently i didnt play for a while and started playing some dota because a streamer was playing it and thought hey lets give it a try, honestly i havent had this much fun in a moba in a while and i cant go back to league anymore this game is amazing.
Ответитьwhy did you have to remind me of the rubber band meta? I thought that pain was gone forever....
ОтветитьHab gar nicht auf den Namen geschaut, klick das Video an und Baumi kommt ins Bild 😂😂😂 letzte mal hab ich videos von dir von Hon geschaut
ОтветитьOmg i remember watching your stuff like 10 years ago, but forgot to subscribe… i missed many years of quality and entertaining content… R.I.P me 😢
ОтветитьMan, I miss tri-lanes.
Ответитьthey ruined the game nerfed all the strategies out of it even lol is better now
ОтветитьI think the best thing they could do is scale-down farm in a little bit and make towers more meaningful I'm in newer player I started probably around 7.28 and you really don't get enough gold for taking down a tower it's a huge accomplishment DOTA is an objective based game but people forget that because farming is so strong so they don't prioritize towers as much I think a middle ground would be better
ОтветитьThis OUTSTANDING video describes in masterful fashion everything I hate about modern dota 2. THANK YOU!!! For making this, hopefully it makes a difference.
ОтветитьI was really new to the game when I saw Newbee wash Vici in the grand finals. Turns out that it was a serious adjustment that at the time looked like a badly designed game. Turns out it was just VICI's unwillingness to adapt that made the games looks so lopsided. Even more impressed with Newbee than I was then.
ОтветитьGreat video
ОтветитьDota 2 then: Full of Team fights and Action the entire game
Dota 2 now: Farm Farm Farm do 1 team fight win that team fight then end the game
This explains what I've already instinctively felt. Dota feels formulaic, there is no longer any strat diversity and it all feels kinda the same. There's pretty much one strat with some nuances.
ОтветитьFor me the best time was when we could get items randomly after the match. Also new skins makes heroes completly different. Like male TA skin or kid skins for invoker, punge(a fucking zombie that butchers and eats people) etc etc same as with HAt fortress game lost its identoty trying to sell cosmetics.
Ответитьwant to make dota great? remove BKB
ОтветитьI agree, this is not about Defense of the Ancient anymore. It's just who's the stronger hero in a fight.
Ответитьi havent even watched this yet & i immediately understand. mobas as a whole have dramaticay shifted away from simplicity & being very laid back in tone into unapproachingly complex & utterly cutthroat competitive. Unless you purposefully play old versions of dota (maybe play hon) or find a way to somehow play old versions of lol, a basic & casual moba just does not exist anymore.
ОтветитьDota2 is my sleeping pill.
ОтветитьIn lol you have inhibitors instead of baracks and you cant destroy the nexus without destroying at least one inhibitor
Ответитьto me before the talents come it was the best times i dont remember clearly what time but back then nobody pays much attention to roles and heros, like when you look back now they look like troll picks but it was funnier, kinda trying your best but not relying on others but still a team play gets its rewards, not persuing to destroy throne and just having fun
Ответить🛌
ОтветитьDamn I’m old.
Ответитьwhat about the time when axe mains bought aegis with 3 charges?
Ответитьa none rank player explaing dota rank LOOOL you are so retarded , when you say one buyback per game and its free XDDD , stick to Arcade Fatass
ОтветитьHi Baumi. I don't even know if you will answer my comment but here goes.
What about HoN? Recently something has been nagging at me and on and on and on and it's called HoN.
Heroes of Newerth officially shut down recently , but there are ways to play it again.
Do you have an opinion on HoN? Are you strictly Dota only?
Damn that buyback change would be crazy
