Do ext4 partitions on USB drives mount natively in a linux distro in parallels?
Ответитьlima linux is the leader for me on mac
ОтветитьAny news if latest macOS starts supporting nested virtualization? I have been holding off purchasing Apple Silicon for this exact reason
Ответитьas of today vmware fusion still doesn’t work. spent a few hours on it before finding this video
ОтветитьFor all of that what you’d tested out, you’re a hero. A whole another level of patience-range.
ОтветитьI do freelance work on the side and one place requires for me to use a vpn to log in and do work and another client says that they can provide me a machine or I can use my own. I like using my m1 MacBook Pro. I was wondering if it were possible to not only use a virtual version of macOS on parallels but to pass through the webcam and mic for use with it. This would allow me to partition side work off to a virtual machine and use my MacBook. Do you know if what I mentioned above would work well on parallels?
Ответитьis already tested in M3 machines?
ОтветитьI used VMWare Fusion in my intel mac years ago, that resizing window thing was an issue back then too. I use Parallels on my M1 Max Mac Studio, runs VM’s great, can have 2-3 running and not notice a performance issue.
Ответитьnice video! I wonder what do you think of Parallels on M2 ?
ОтветитьFor a first video this quality crazy good
ОтветитьCan I run Netapp simulator using fusion on M1?
Ответитьsubscibed.
ОтветитьI tried fusion a few weeks ago. It worked fine for me. The experience was similar to VMware player in windows. It looks like it's much better than when you tried it
Ответитьwhy are you wearing a mask?!!!!!
ОтветитьHello
great video. I have a Macbook Pro M2 max with 64Gb RAM and 2Tb SSD.
I have a couple of programs that only run on Windows and would be interested in installing Parallels 19 and creating a virtual machine.
Years ago I tried Parallels on a 15" Macbook Pro with Intel i9 but the battery lasted a few hours with the virtual machine active, while working in macOS it lasted twice as long.
Do you have experience of excessive battery consumption with an active virtual machine?
Thank you for your reply.
I'm curious what your use-cases are running a VM in a 8GB host, with apps all being such memory hogs lately.
Is it just for fun?
So this works for m2 Mac also as well?
ОтветитьGreat video! Thankyou ❤
Ответитьvmware fusion shows start PXE over ipv4
Ответитьhey, thanks for the video.
can you please suggest which VM player does support webcam and microphone acess
I have tried UTM and VM ware fusion and both do not support webcam access
I am presently on a trial with parallels and on fence about buying a license for it
it worth to mention that paralles supports creating only the same version of your macOS while creating macOS VMs
ОтветитьGreat video. Can you do an update video if anything has changed?
Ответитьquality content🔥. btw how do i get that cpu and ram usage on my menu bar?
ОтветитьAny thoughts about revisiting this topic? I've had no problems getting Windows 11 working with the latest VMWare Player on my M1 Max MacBook Pro.
ОтветитьCan anyone advise if you can run multiple vm's on one M2 Mac studio each with a dedicated line? Would it be possible to run 20 VM's at the same time? Thanks.
Ответитьhi, thanks for the review.
commercial companies will not run emulations of other architectures, and Apple does not have a program capable of doing so. Emulation is very slow, and companies do not believe in the future of ARM. I'm an engineer and I need x86_64 virtual machines on a laptop and my choice is matebook unfortunately.
Apple's history repeats itself as it has in the past with powerpc. It's a dangerous move for Apple, as most of the industry won't be able to switch to ARM for decades to come.
So far I've done the tests with adapting myself to Apple silicon M1 from Intel x86_64, UTM emulation indeed makes me feel much better other than VMware Fusion with running Linux Ubuntu (take server instead of desktop version to save much efficency consumed by emulation). One more issue that I currently suffer from is how to integrate GNS3VM (ubuntu) then run Cisco IOSvL2 devices as it used to be...
ОтветитьGreat content. Nice work.
ОтветитьBruh thats a great video !!
ОтветитьDual boot asahi Linux...
ОтветитьNice video. Don't you have problems with those 8gb of ram when you run a virtual machine?
ОтветитьHI I'M trying instal vware in my mac m1 por and give the follow issue: This virtual machine cannot be powered on because it requires the X86 machine architecture, which is incompatible with this Arm machine architecture host. I try with windows 10 and 11 but nothing happens, i saw in you video that gave this erro but i couldn't fixed it, can you help me please
ОтветитьParallels and crossover are the best really, fastest and don't take probably that much memory. I suggest you buy those or get a cracked version ( yes they exist ). If you already own an expensive laptop or computer like apple, then you must have money for these tools too.
ОтветитьParallels is Russian company, so thanks but no😢
ОтветитьSo if I wanted to do pentesting with VMs an M2 probably isn't the best.
ОтветитьThe bottlenecks begin when people want to game using VM windows and further issues become evident with external HDMI displays and VR headset connections on the ARM chipset.
ОтветитьThanks man.
ОтветитьThank you for that overview.
Ответитьif you can't buy an LV Mac, at least make it look like an LV bag
ОтветитьMany thanks for this! Saved me so much trouble!
ОтветитьWasup Mr. Kalos. Might be a weird question. Is it possible that a Virtualizer can support SSE2 while running on a Mac M1. I got an error when trying to download the Tor browser to Kali Linux on my Mac M1, I tried with both VMware and UTM. The error was CPU requires SSE2 support. If not, do you have ideas I can go with besides downloading TOR straight to my Mac M1.. appreciate any answer.
ОтветитьJust an update: VirtualBox 7, the newest version as of Feb 2023, has support for Apple silicon, but it is still in beta
ОтветитьWow, you're almost at 10k subs! Nice work
ОтветитьNever like Parallels Desktop, always using VMware workstation and fusion. The fusion was gone gold, I bought it and install an Oracle Linux 9 aarch64, it works like a charm. VMware may not have the highest performance, but the fixability and stability are better, just give it a try, again.
ОтветитьCan we have a update?
ОтветитьLiked UTM but the network understanding to have virtual networks was a nightmare to deal with. Parallels has been the most stress free so far.
ОтветитьParallels is a rip off.
ОтветитьParallels is the only game in town. Everything else is a waste of time. And it’s worth every penny.
ОтветитьWould be interesting if this works well for windows images on the new, cheap, mac mini
