You have the best content ! I am currently in a training program for the exam. I have 15 years of experience in medical billing, but am semi new to coding. So many other channels give such unnecessary info or just treat what’s in the book!!

Are the medical coding cases similar to the AHIMA CCS examination, where there's a drop down menu to select codes? And it's an all or none question. Also overall, how does the CPC exam compare to the CCS?

So I just have a general question on if I should pay for the school or if I should just get the $880 box set I’ve been in medical billing and coding for almost 20 something years. My mom was a certified professional coder and she’s who I learned from a very young age. I started entering charges and posting payments over the summers in high school at 14. I feel I’m extremely familiar with CPT codes and ICD 10 codes, and the correlation between the relationship of how to code and understand the relationship between CPT code and ICD 10 codes and modifiers but my hindrance is I spent 17 years in podiatry, and I just now started billing and coding for pain management, and I feel a little out of my depth. My mom who wrote a book on billing and coding in the 80s when she worked for Lake Worth Medical Center passed away in 2021 from pancreatic cancer so I don’t have her as my font of useless information anymore and I feel like I don’t know as much as I should if you were in my position what would you do?? I am a 43 year old woman I love medical billing but I don’t wanna waste $3000 on some thing that I feel I know very very well when I could spend less than 1000 with some study prep and do pretty well, but what I’m really looking for is to just be at the top of my game with some thing that I have loved for so many years.

Thanks for this video! I have a question about the case analysis, what does the online set up look like? I have been using the aapc practice exam and it's so confusing to have to click back and forth and even worse on the test not be able to write anything down. It slows me down and I feel like an in person exam on paper might be a better option

Taking it online sounds ridiculously restrictive...like not being able to simply mute the mic once you've proven you're alone in the room. I have four dogs. Do they think my dogs know the answers to the test and are morse coding me the info with their paw scratches? Crazy.

I took the CPC exam online and the proctor told me to stop reading the answers out loud. I was so nervous and have a tendency of “figuring” out an answer by reading it out loud. How embarrassing. 😅 so guys if you take your exam at home just be quiet don’t speak lol 😂

Hello, I just discovered your channel and it is great. Help me! I just finished a course and worked so hard at it and now I’m taking the CBCS exam. Well, I’m just learning that I should have been going to a school to get my CPC. Have I wasted my time? I really learned a lot from guidelines, to anatomy, medical terms, and codes. I paid for my courses and now I’m feeling like I’m going to have to go to school all over again 😔

Good advice. I do have a suggestion that you make a separate video for "After you pass the CPC" Letting new CPCs that passing the CPC, being a huge step, is step one of many in getting your career started but not the final one. What surprises a lot of new coders is when they go for coding positions, companies want to give them a coding test that catches them off guard. I myself as a CPC ran into this a lot during my job searches. I was also a coding supervisor at a company for a few years and we had the same policy. When I would interview and tell them we had a 25 question coding test, the response was "What?! I already passed the CPC exam!" I think it's very important to bring up situations such as this.
