I really enjoy Collin’s transparency.
I hate that other channels just post garbage to get the views, we all know who they are. Whenever I watch one of your videos I can always expect something genuine from them.
I personally dislike like how people have begun gravitating towards the field just for the money and because of unrealistic expectations when it comes to “hacking”. All in all, I love the content. Keep it up

If anyone can answer this I would appreciate it. What is the most cost effective and quickest way to learn this and get a job. I'm not concerned about making $100,000 a year. I want to move to Southeast Asia we're a cost of living is a lot less. I lived in Thailand for a year and spent roughly $30,000 USD the entire year.

Even making $60,000 a year would be great.

It might not be that high for ppl in us and stuff.
But in Sweden you will like never have that high salary.
A good salary here is like 3700$ a month or like 44400 a year give it take and that’s after a few year in school with loans also to pay back.
As you can’t get a job in it here without a degree.
Many countries you can prove yourself and be self taught and land a job but not here :)

Having seen others do it. The military's cyber group is a great way to get into cyber without paying for college. My buddy went into the cyber warfare program and did a term with the Army in Maryland, working out of the NSA HQ. Got out with a free computer science degree, invaluable training, and a top secret clearance, buddy is cleared for any six figure job at just about any company...

As an engineer this was the biggest question I get asked when talking to students and let me tell you 6 figures should be your minimum when starting. I see guys taking these 60-70k jobs all day long and it’s almost like your brain washed into thinking 100-150k is good when your 10+ years in. When I’m reality you should be at 300k +.

An example I always use to get my point across is the local high schools here pay janitors 80-90k so if your in a career like CS you should probably aim a little higher.

If you are walking into any job, expecting to get paid a large salary as an entry-level, you do not need to be in that field.

They do this exact same thing for states like California and New York who have billionaires that live there. Five people can bring up the average income by $30,000 a year in the state like California. So in reality people aren’t making that kind of money just the ultra rich bring the average up and it looks good.

For a lot of people that 75,000 or even 60,000 would be good. Obviously, 6 figure potential is good too, but if your income is near poverty level those entry level salaries will look a lot better.

I have a friend that makes 240K (in low COL area) in cybersecurity, he's pretty senior level though. Switched companies a few times so I imagine you just have to stick with it and be a high performer.

I feel for those that have to come into cyber at the civilian angle. Joined the military as cyber and have since gotten valuable experience, industry certifications, and my bachelors paid for in full. All for free and done before the age of 26. Im getting offers starting at 120k all the way up to 220k. The military (Air Force) is a cheat code and unfortunately people are brought up thinking joining means your dumb.

3/8 through my Google CS cert, likely going for CompIA Sec+ next. When I start looking for jobs ill be ok to take whatever they give me, first job is more for experience than money

I don’t understand why generally a software engineer gets paid more than a cyber security professional? Cyber security folks usually know way more than software developers, and demand is high as the expectations for a entry level cybersec job are high. And there’re not many people who are capable of doing the job. As opposed to software engineering where people with 0 tech background ( salespeople, construction workers etc) get hired

That’s still high paying, where I live 5k a month will make you a baller (no taxes) so yeah you have to consider where you are living.

im 21. I live in Mississippi. Honestly as long as it is between 50k-60k, i'm good. I can live more than comfortable with that salary here.

I always enjoyed tech. I never had the chance to get into it. Now I work in aviation. I'm on getting my Security+. I live in Kansas, I literally would be happy with 65k a year as I make 52k. 65k would be a life changing income an I would finally feel like I made it.

I'm 18 and just graduated highschool and already registered for community college because i really wanted to test the waters if i would want to do a four year term at a university. im deeply inspired by engineering and love the idea of having the capabilities to will almost anything i want into existence but I'm not too good at math and know that if i take the placement test ill probably end up just having to work my way up to calculus. I also have a love for cybersecurity and the idea of knowing how to protect myself and attack others online if needed and i feel like theirs better job offerings in that field after getting a associates/ certificate . regardless I still want to do a four year term as of right now at a university for engineering. Help?

74k? Wtf im working since 2008 in aviation. Aircraft maintenance engineer with easa b1 licence....and with all the experience i earn around the same....here in switzerland.

I’ve known three cybersecurity analyst they all make 100k+ and all started high 70s 80k. Just sayin.
