Annie Elise, Stephanie Harlow and Kimbyrleigha are the ones I watch because in my Opinion they are very respectful and thoughtful. They keep in mind the victims Families. Some of them even talk to them and let their voices be heard through their channels. I feel like it’s important to share these terrible stories because some might be unsolved and if anyone can help it would be very helpful. And also to spread awareness.

Edit: Kimbyrleigha also makes very long videos going into very much detail about psychology etc. I think she studies something related to this and can bring a lot of important insight. I like to know psychology behind it because I feel I can be more aware of warning signs around me. As a woman I don’t always feel safe but understanding more helps.

idk why this video popped up in my recommendations, but my most honest opinion: I think this genre is not only entertaining, but educational and NECESSARY. I watch true crime videos because they help me remember the world we actually live in, they help me be concious of what surrounds me, they help me be real, keep me from going back to being naive and an easy target, they remind me that everyone could harm you... even friends, even family. I think it is important to make people aware of this, to teach them they NEED to be careful and think things through, to watch out... now what I can´t stand is people who mock deaths and suffering for pure entertainment, then turn it into a morbid show, not for seeking out justice for the victim or maybe spreading awareness, or maybe teaching about how to identify a possible psychopath, but just for pure mockery and entertaiment... and money and attention, of course, but never to beneficiate the case or investigation with it... for themselves. I´ve always found weird how some people is capable of even swallowing food while talking about certain stuff ad proceeding to describe it, and therefore IMAGINING THE SCENARIO (I mean i guess we all do that unconciously, we create a visible image based on what we hear), I feel like it´s not only disrespectful, but a real weird and extreme lack of empathy... and I´m not even gonna explain my pov of those who make the victims family believe "they talk with their deceased loved ones" because there´s no justification, be it public or private, you´re playing with a deeply hurt person, you use their agony and their need to find meaning to things and turn it into marketing for your fake "services", that´s just straigth up cruel and unhinged like wtf-

I think Stephanie soo has gotten a lot better with her content. She has removed the crime content from her mukbang channel which i agree was extremely disrespectful. She only really does celebrity drama on that channel anymore, and she moved all her crime content to her podcast rotten mango. Her podcast does extensive and well done research and has a lot of respect for the victims, even recently interviewing family of the victims and sending messages of encouragement. I’m glad she took a turn for the better.

Dude, please take some constructive criticism. You are trying to present this with a "charasmatic personality" that you don't actually have. You are NOT charismatic. I have seen this in other You Tubers putting on a fake personality. I don't believe this is your real life personality and this is not "entertaining." I suggest you change your presentation from "entertainment" to "educational." No one is interested in bad comedy, bad jokes, and fake charisma when presenting true crime. Some things are JUST NOT FUNNY.

Putting victims on blast publicly when they need to grieve in private is awful. Also, some of these true crime content creators actually insinuate themselves into the lives of the victims or perpetrators so they can get inside information, then have a falling out with the families and turn on them. Thats despicable.

A really good creator that does talk about things but in a very respectful way is Eleanor Neil she gives disclaimers and the whole video is her explaining everything and really shining light on who the victim was, which I feel like a lot of times when people cover it they don’t really focus on the victims and they focus on the actual murder so I think it’s wonderful to bring some humanity to those victims

Feel like maybe people who make these kind of videos should have to prove they're qualified and informed enough to do so. So be a licensed therapist, work in the criminal field or have some history working in that field. Not just an idiot with a microphone that brings nothing meaningful to the story and legacy of the victims.

Speak for yourself in regards to not experiencing this kind of crime IRL... I woke up once to police at my door asking if i'd heard anything strange during the night and found out that a woman was murdered brutally 2 doors away from me (was living in a block of flats) - I hadn't (heard anything) I had worked a 13 hours shift the day before and was dead to the world :S

IMO i agree. as a TC viewer I find the line is crossed when they are doing something else whilst talking about the case eg: mukbang or makeup ones as it is so disrescpectful.. hencewhy thesedays lean more towards actual reporters reporting about the case eg the 8passengers arrest.

They just taint the true crime community. I have a handful of favorites who discuss and have appropriate timed ADs for their videos. It truely pisses me off on how they treat and taint the qhole community for YT.
