Yep, both Nest Hello and Google Nest Doorbell Wired can have motion recording and 24/7 recording, whereas Google Nest Doorbell Battery can only have motion recording.

No, not worth it. Subscription necessary to get any features out of it. Eufy's does a better job and zero subscriptions and all the features ready to use. Just replaced my worthless Nest because it can't do anything without a subscription.

So do you prefer the wired? I'm old school and this would be my first video doorbell

I just bought the wired one. Not sure if my transformer will work with it

WORST PRODUCT EVER !!!
1. APP GOOGLE HOME IS NOT DOWNLOADED IN ALL PHONES. I HAD TO BUY A MOTOROLA PHONE THAT ALLOWED ME TO DOWNLOAD THE APP.
2. THE CHIME DEVICE MUST BE PLACED IN A WORKING ONE CHIME BOX. MY CHIME BOX WAS DEAD, SO I COULDN'T INSTALL IT.
3. FOR 150 DOLLARS I OBTAINED A DOORBELL THAT ONLY SOUNDS OUTSIDE MY HOME, BUT UNABLE TO SOUND INSIDE HOME.
4. IT IS TRASH.
5. MOST CHINA DOORBELLS COME WITH VIDEO DOORBELL AND PLUG IN CHIME DEVICE!!!! WHY GOOGLE NEST DO NOT OFFER THE SAME????
6. ELECTRICIAN COST 50 DOLLARS TO ATTACH IT OUTSIDE ONLY. THE EKECTRICUAN TOLD ME THAT GOOGLE DOORBELL S ARE THE WORST PRODUCT EVER, BECAUSE MOST OF THE CASES ARE LIKE ME. IF I WANT TO HEAR THE CHIME INSIDE, THE GOOGLE REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME THAT I HAVE TO BUY THE "NEST MINI" OR "HOME MINI" IN ORDER TO LISTEN THE DOORBELL SOUND INSIDE MY HOME.
RING ARE 10000% BETTER THAN THIS GARBAGE PRODUCT.
7. THIS DEVICE DOES NOT ALLOW TO TALK BACK.

Google needs to ditch the 3:4 asap, why not go 1:1? until they do - I'll just keep my hello doorbells.

Yes BUT.......in this 2nd gen did google fix the cold weather issue when temperatures get below -4 degrees thats makes the camera stop working? In my gen one it does this and its terrible.

Google (Nest) really needs to step things up! They have fallen off the map when it comes to smart home tech. I have had google products for YEARS, and I am slowly getting rid of them. I have the Hello doorbell still and as the video quality is great... it is useless without paying the $6 a month... I cant stand ring either for the same reason... So I am most likely going with Eufy as I have all my cameras with them anyway.

Will theses connect to a wifi extender?

Pros: Much improved notification time.

I do not recommend any Nest or Google product. I have purchased a Nest Doorbell and a Nest camera and I wish I did not. I pay for a yearly Aware subscription and when there is a problem with billing or camera you can no longer talk to a customer service agent live or by text. Nest / Google do not care about supporting any customer since you can not contact them. If I had a free aware service then fine but that is not the case. How can a company that charges a yearly fee not have any customer service. Nest / Google is set up for failure. They gave already failed. Looks like they want to shut down their business. Nest / Google is the worst company I have ever seen.

Wow, it's been a long time since I've seen someone having an LTE network, even in the suburbs. We live out in the suburbs in SC, a good 10-15 miles outside of town, and I get 5G UC out here.

Obviously just have to deal with whatever you have in your area.

Can this device notify your smart TV and see live view when the TV is on? So while watching TV ...it interrupts your TV show and shows live view of your front door when someone rings the doorbell.

i wonder if this thing solved the biggest problem. the internal battery that powered the chime would die eventually, making your doorbell useless.

Any tips for fixing chime that isn’t working now? I upgraded from nest gen 1 to nest gen 2 wired and now the chime isn’t working!

Are all security screws the same? So a thief could have a security screwdriver and walk around taking these 🤣

Uncle, can I have a wired nest doorbell? My hello is acting up.

I have the original nest hello, and when i pressed it, it only ding once and went dead. The hub inside the house is trying to connect but always says, unable to connect. What's the issue? Thank you

No video discusses this point... does the doorbell puck itself make the chiming sound, or does the puck allow the Nest to interface with your old chime? Reason I ask is that I have a house built in 1987 that the doorbell chime is basically a wall clock with 4 metal tubular bells that hang from the clock. When someone pushes the doorbell, there are small hammers that play out a melody on the bells. None of the videos I've watched tell exactly what the function of the puck is.
Also, we have 3 doorbell buttons (front, back, garage), each with it's own separate melody. Will the 2 other doorbells still function as expected with the puck in place?

Well, I was going to upgrade to the 2nd generation doorbell..until I saw this video. For now, I'll keep my 1st generation doorbell since gen2 doesn't seem like much of an upgrade and I am one of MANY that also finds Google Home super clunky to use.

I really like this camera and have been using it since it came out. I still very much, like most people who are OG Nest users, HATE… no LOATHE the forced Google Home app use. It doesn’t help that the Home app is completely horrible, convoluted and frustrating to use. The Home app has been a solid performer for YEARS and sadly as my old Nest Cameras die out, they’re almost impossible to find now and when you do people charge an a obscene amount. My old Nest Exterior IQ Outdoor cam finally died out and I found a new in box for 600 dollars from some A-Hole. Nest is still one of the best deals under their sub plan and 24/7 access for 10 days is awesome but Google has completely ruined the Nest experience. I hope you’re reading this Google… y’all done F’d up.

I don't even get a notification I only get a notification when someone runs it I got it for Christmas I live in Canada what's good and cold -17 in the blizzard perfect but it just dies fast and the cold

This is not a 1920x1080 resolution - deal breaker for me, since my displays are 1080. The subscription is also a deal breaker.

I bought the gen 1 wired for $100 a few days ago. Would you recommend I return it and buy the gen 2 for $170?

This product SUCKS!!!! DONOT BUY !!!! The worst product you can get it only takes pics halfway frozen and it doesn’t warn you of humans or cars suck over all save yourself the headache Ring or Eufy way better options
