This video is 2 years old. Last year they had great bonus and ride challenges. Today, in Jan 2024 ride challenges, bonus and streaks are non-existent, at least in my market. They have become oversaturated with drivers and no longer need to entice anyone to drive since drivers will go out there anyway. Lyft is great if you want to drive sick medicaid patients home from the hospital. And if you think driving lyft Extra Comfort or Black will increase your pay, you be fooling yourself and sitting around for hours waiting for the lone Lyft black request. I used to have a car that qualified as Black and only got those requests during peak surge times, and I found out why. That was because on the lyft app when it is surging, the Black rides cost about the same as the standard Lyft so there is no difference for the passenger.

In addition look at the fees Lyft and Uber take from our earnings each year. Crazy we easily loose 50 to 65 percent of our earnings. It is good for a weekend side deal. But to go full metal jacket. That’s insanely crazy

Yeah streaks and good bonuses and other promotions that by the way no longer exist these days. I been on the platforms since 2014 and I know this is a dead business

I guess its different from each location. I live in Rochester NY and no way will you make $500 a day where I live unless you worked 14 hour days. I work 8 hours and I am lucky if I get $200.

YOUR LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION IS VERY IMPORTANT INFO, BRO!!

You left out a very important figure! Your LOCATION!!

Not everyone will make the same as you even in the same city! You have to be in the right market and the right vehicle and know your market to make that kind of money!

Are you driving only LyftX or do you also do XL, Lux, or Lux Black? Again, that's a very important detail you left out!

Speaking on the tax portion of lyft. I have a office with a lock on the door that i use only for lyft research and keeping tabs on expenses. this allows me to count off some electric and internet on taxes. also when I travel I look for cars that i plan to buy in the future. this allows me to count off all expenses that weekend I travel out of town.

I'm all about Lyft as a gig if people enjoy it, I do it just for fun as a second job even though I don't really depend on the income. However, I disagree with looking at it as "dollars per day > dollars per hour" from a full-time job. If you want to work more hours at a higher hourly rate, then just get a second job or work overtime at your full-time job and get time and a half. I know with my full-time job if I really just wanted to earn more money I could easily work overtime more regularly and make way more than I would with Lyft since I'd be making time and a half. Also you have to factor in benefits, 401k matching, etc. that most people would get with a full-time job which isn't part of that hourly rate and those things typically add up to another 30% of your base income. $120,000 with Lyft is substantially less than $120,000 with a traditional job due to self-employment expenses. Also, over the long-run, sticking with a smart career choice tends to have options for advancing your education and climbing up the corporate ladder to eventually earn more and more money, while platforms like Lyft are always looking for ways to reduce how much drivers make. Not to mention that driver opportunities will likely be completely eliminated once self-driving technology has advanced far enough in enough cities. So if someone is using Lyft as their primary income source for many years, they may eventually find themself way behind in the corporate rat race and isn't going to have any marketable skills for continuing to earn good money. Just some scenarios I would recommend thinking through before committing only to a ride share platform, as long-term I don't think it's a good plan. (Also I just see a video to the right of my comment that you say you got banned from Lyft so... there's always that too lol)

If you work in Waikiki, you can get rides via queue, but that take a lot longer time for mostly short rides, unless you are heading to the airport. I also try to do one or two, but better to work outside of that tourist destination. I agree hanging at the airport queue, isn't always the best way to make money, especially during off times. But, during peak times, usually can make money.

Does anyone know if on the Polestar rental for Lyft, if you are able to add $0 deductible I Insurance coverage to the rental like it’s offered on the Tesla rental for Uber??

I see that $1000 deductible is included on the rental but I want to be able to add $0 deductible on the Lyft Polestar rental..

Thanks

Yeah right ... this guy is so wrong ... "bonuses depends on driver activity" does not mean the more you drive the more bonuses you get that means "the less" you drive the more bonuses you get and only when you are new to condition you and create you that habit, plus his "strong Believes" mean "nothing" thats not a fact. UNLESS he is driving in New York thats the exception to the rule otherwise you are lucky if you make 100 or 150 a day not counting gas and the taxes you would have to pay So your average hourly rate could easily be $7 per hour and you get to destroy your car how great! Dont believe me ? And want to believe this guy not even showing facts for what he is saying??? Simple, go and try it your self... then you would see who is right..... go get your $500 per day working 18 hour a day ahead and the. You will see who is telling the truth.

So you have to drive for 17+ hours in order to make that? Also, the pay differs by the city…I live in Orlando and there’s no way that any driver here will EVER make that especially on a consistent basis. I love this for you but is this what you make every week or did you get lucky? I think it’s important to give some disclaimers that this is not the norm. You don’t want to give False hope
