I particularly like how the author says L is more intelligent "because the plot requires it." I think there is some truth in that. If he wasn't more intelligent, you wouldn't enjoy the plot as much since then you would know he's not smart enough to catch Light - so the plot required it.
Great video, I liked how you addressed the difference between knowledge and intelligence. The fact is its a lot more complicated than working out "who's smarter." There is always context, the devil is in the details. I thoroughly agreed with your conclusion. I would recommend everyone reads the manga for death note, to me it is better than the anime. I'd also recommend reading "L change the world" - I think this is even better than the BB case murders.
Both of them are dummies. L was extra stupid, since he created a character profile which made no sense and got attached to it to the point that as soon as he found someone that he thought fit it, he had no question in his mind that it could have been someone else. All this suggests is that L is just extremely lucky that he decided Light was Kira, since he used no real deductive reasoning and only worked with bullshit assumptions.
Ответитьhow do you have these high quality anime footages???
Ответить🙂👍
ОтветитьGuys I don't know what we are talking about. give the notebook to me or any other normally gifted person and no one will ever know it exists. L had to catch a person with supernatural powers who could literally be anyone on earth and he managed to get to light in the fourth episode. Are we really having this discussion??
Also, give L information about the notebook and the shinigami's eyes on day 1 (as it was for near) and he locks in light on day 2. L had to sweat to get this key information and by the time he got it it was too late and he had no longer a way of winning. Not only that, without Rem's umpteenth intervention in equation L wouldn't even have been defeated.
There are all the arguments for saying that light is the dumbest character in anime history.
L - More Intelligent
Light - Higher Potential.
Both of them had different but vast resources and honestly it’s such a complex question that I can only think can be answered by the final victor. L had the whole world government cooperating with him at first which is how he pulled off the tv stunt, he had the fbi agents investigating people and bugging light’s home, he also had the Japanese police on his side which allowed him to push the boundaries of the law for the sake of justice like when he kidnapped miss and detained her or when he kept light in solitary confinement. So what we have fathered from this information is that L had an army against light and a huge defence, that said light and an incredible offence. The death note is a practically perfect weapon which can kill at any moment, instruct people to do things before death and doesn’t contain a pattern unless wanted. Light didn’t have access to only 1 death note but 2 in misa which allowed him to kill while being watched. Misa also had the shinigami eyes which made lights job even easier. Light also had access to ryuk who would do him favours like check for cameras. He also had access to rem who he would manipulate to do things like discard of his notebook and ultimately kill L. So you can see that both had great advantages however I think that L knowing about most of lights abilities (eg second Kira only needing a face or his personality switch etc) made light more vulnerable making lights performance more skilful. Light had a weaker protection and thrived under pressure whilst L never really had pressure to begin with. The common metaphor for how the show felt is ‘like a chess game’ and if anyone who reads this plays chess then they would know a loss is 100% based on your mistakes or more specifically what you didn’t do. L being aware of light and his capabilities and not being able to create a defensive plan against it is simply a loss fair and square therefore it is only fair to say light is smarter than L OVERALL.
ОтветитьIf we're talking about novels, in fsiq light only gets vsi and nvi
ОтветитьL took an L and died. They pussied outta giving Light an Ai Magase ending back in the day or at least a Johan Liebert ending where he vanishes.
ОтветитьThe major difference is L hacked government records and such when Kira takes his place he openly asks agency after agency to provide for a global network and does more to help the world than L ever would’ve in far less time as the last line of the entire death note series goes “how many crimes did he commit, all of them, he was just a kid” but I mean he straight molested yagami’s gf in open public for no reason other than his own obsession n being light’s gf but you don’t remember her being bound blindfolded and so on and remember the shinigami told Kira if he personally led to anything that led misa o’ mono into danger… is L smarter or just have less restraint or lack of morals the only Kira made was not realizing his partner made a bloody msg just like the 3 he did on the prison walls but how would L have known which three he wrote and save misa o’ moni’s message “have 3 hands”
ОтветитьL was going against Light without any sort of external help other than his own brain. Light had the help of supernatural, a shinigami, and other death note users. L was able to stand toe-to-toe against Light with all that, even threatening Light. L was far better than Light
ОтветитьL is smarter because the story needs it.
ОтветитьInazuma Eleven music is so based
ОтветитьThe authors stated L is the smartest character in the series because he had to be
ОтветитьI think long story short, L played his hand better but Light was dealed the better hand... WHich he also played very well...
ОтветитьImagine if L was rasied in White Room
ОтветитьL was smarter then light, this shouldn’t really even be a debate.
Light knew it that why light had to cheat to beat L.
Lights manipulation of the death note factors that L couldnt know of, they are equals imo maybe a super slight edge one way, the rules of the supernatural were the ace in the hole for light.
ОтветитьMost underrated scd editor
ОтветитьMello really sacrificed himself so Near would win. All those aggressive actions Mello did made it possible. That is why Kira lost because he kept playing so defensively
The tennis match foreshadows this everything
I KNEW IT!
I knew it was a mistranslation for knoweledge
It all didn't add up in the terms of intelligence but it DID in knoweledge
Near and Light were the most highest because alot of what they did for mental satisfaction was that of constant learning. Light DID, after all, score the highest in the Japan for his education, while Near was refernced to "study even though he had no interest of academics"
L is also incredibly knoweledgable but only in the wide variety of that in helping him solve cases. Again, a wide group of knoweledge goes into him having to be THE greatest detective, but he most likely only focused on that relating to that of his work or the case in supreme detail.
Mello comes up next because while he is indeed incredibly knoweledgeable, it's not on the likes of that compared to that of L, much less Light and Near. Mello WAS second to Near, after all.
Sorry, just nerding out because I never really liked how intelligence was put in for the stat and people constantly using that on it's own. In fact, I'd say creativity is far closer to it since while it may not be that of the exact same of intelligence they are indeed related and their creativity truly shows as they wit their battles near flawlessly
I think we used scaling ,a L mid diffs
As one of he replies from
Hannibal cormac's comment said that ctw L and canon L are same this boosts up L a little bit ,and in la case mello said he also stopped a bombing in manchester and took the names if other detectives all of this feats but L above light .also L intelligence is unique as it grows ,or growth is so good we can see it .
I'm not sure why this is a conversation. L had to establish a premise and suspect from a case which seemingly had no bearing in reality - an "ability" to kill someone without a physical means or trace. Light not only had this knowledge and ability, but also access to police information early on to track the movements of his opponents.
It's clear that Light is smart and manipulative. But there is no question exactly what L was throughout the series. We get a glimpse of what the reverse situation might have been like - had light been the detective against someone like himself, he would have lost, likely much sooner than L did.
,,Good,, Light is probably the smartest character in the series. Whit his reasoning, communication skills and strong case of justice he could have been the perfect detective.
Both Light ,,Regular,, and ,,L,, are far too prideful for it.
One is manipulative , the other one is a liar.
One cant communicate and work whit others , the other has a God complex, putting himself above the rest.
One is overconfident and childish , the other cocky and sadistic .
We never got much of a chance to see how Light would approach more difficult cases, since the Y corp. case was practically handed to the police force by the obviousness of their benefits harvested from the recent deaths. In terms of each and their respective roles--detective and committer of the crime--they both handled it almost flawlessly. So, we would only really know if their roles were reversed, which isn't possible.
ОтветитьIS THAT INAZUMA ELEVEN BACKGROUND MUSIC!? YOU GOAT
ОтветитьI like you mentioning how L proved Kira was a person was that of nearly impossible to predict because I still think when people say Light was an idiot for killing Lind L Tailor, but honestly, I'd like to see THEM try and predict that. It wasn't even a dumb move, since he wanted the world to know what happens when you oppose him, it's just that whas playing outside of a 36-sided box, using multiple methods and multiple proofs to get this infromation in just one move. Honestly, it was an unexpected literally-super-genius move that, due to Light's lack of infromation telling him this was only broadcasted in his area, that Lind was a criminal sentenced to death today, etc. made him fall for it.
Light made a mistake in killing Lind L. Tailor, obviously, but to call him stupid for that is impractical, especially with the fact that they'd do no better if they had the same goals and motives but their own intilligence and not Light's; infact, they'd get caught much faster.
So we are not considering the entire worlds police force as a power? How about having plenty of lives to spare with the FBI agents and taskforce members? The playing fields are a lot more even
ОтветитьI was so fuking serious then bro said "L took a big L" drums* 😂
ОтветитьTechnically neither is very smart since they at times make amazing logical leaps not grounded in reality or anything rational just to drive the plot forward after the fact. It’s plot intelligence.
ОтветитьL>>>>>>>>>
ОтветитьThis is one of the greatest videos I've ever watched, as well as one of the most accurate conclusions. Genuinely, well done.
ОтветитьI disagree, I think with out the notebook would have been able to hang with L he ended up be corrupted by the book so it completely changes his thought process, light forscence multiple situations unlike lost could have
Ответитьmake that grey red. And if it is red make it grey. And if it is purple. You are on acid.
ОтветитьWhat about L vs ayaynokoji?
ОтветитьBro you litrly, are a Goat at explaining, with so much details.I am really facinated with your analysis of the Details in Death Note, One of the greatest Story in the world.
L was definitely the smartest. He was, and you proved it with more detailed explanation.
You can say he cheated all you want, but Near was ultimately smarter than all of them. I know I know, this is about L and Light.
ОтветитьRem could have just killed the whole task force when Misa was being interrogated to save her then light would have won really early on, lol
ОтветитьLight killed L, there the debate has been settled.
ОтветитьL can solve the doubt of johan “what is the reason of living when everything comes to dead” 🗿
ОтветитьL being on par with Kira (stats-wise) other than social life is freaking hilarious to me
ОтветитьHey, I have a question, avent? Is canon L dumber than novel ( ln) L, as many people use scaling, I thought that the loss Angeles case was canin and a prequel to the main manga, with the shingamj and their equipment and mello's rambling about kira, which can safely say at the very least is 4 or bit shorter years before the main manga. The only feats that aren't canon Are the Cw ( change the world) in which L wins against light, but that is only because if circumstances, as That L, if you really wanna go was a bit more risk taking, and wrote his note in dn, along with eliminated misa and rem, and other than that he should scale to Main L.
ОтветитьL made many mistakes during the Yotsuba arc. He sniffed out Light's plan down to the letter....and didn't do anything about it.
ОтветитьI don't see people talking about the morality aspect, like L was restricted by his morals the entire time and that an enormous disadvantage he put on himself while fighting Light if he has the same mindset as Melo he would have won a long time ago.
ОтветитьI would probably have to agree that Light is more mentally capable than L. But L is more intelligent
That's what it comes down to. Light has a small disadvantage on only intelligence, but he has enough to make up for it.
If he was a different kind of criminal who had exactly as much experience as L, and there was no supernatural force involved: Could probably outplay L again. The deathnote more or less sprung him up to L's level without the experience to match.
damn got that celeste music hell ye
ОтветитьL played chess when he didn’t know the rules
