Hi Gary, you make no mention of setting up the camera to rotate at the nodal point of the lens. Is that something you do or do you feel it is of little value? Thank you for the detailed video.
ОтветитьVery nice video
ОтветитьNodal slider & base levelling heads seem to be helpful too Gary.
When editing, as you shown..i also use 'guides' to place onto horizon fir final levelling on-screen.
Excellent Video
Great video I’d love to see comparisons same lens but with such as like the canon r6 mk2 inbuilt pano mode how that compares to a stitched image 👍👍
ОтветитьThanks, Gary, for yet another fantastic tutorial.
ОтветитьOnce you focus you switch to manual focus so the focus stays locked. I use the back button focusing which locks the focus and the camera does not try to refocus every time the shutter is released.
ОтветитьGarry do you adjust your check and adjust your light meter if it moves within the frames when panning
ОтветитьFantastic demonstration Gary. Specially the prep work is very useful and critical.👍
ОтветитьThanks for a great video !
ОтветитьI noticed that you completely ignored lens nodal point settings. Does this have no consequences? Even if we have more noticeable than grass objects, such as railings close to the camera?
ОтветитьSimply informative. Thx
ОтветитьWith the camera being off centre to the axis of rotation anything close to the camera will move in relation to the background, causing a problem for the stitching software. You may consider pointing this out in any future videos you make on the subject. Rotating around the lens nodal point will eliminate the problem.
I enjoy all your videos particularly on fine art so please don't take this as criticism as your method works fine most of the time.
Keep up the good work.
Kind regards,
Alec Cowley
Two questions : In extreme contrast scenes how do i create a panorama ?
If my subject is in variable distance from my camera such as a mountain what adjustment do i need to incorporate? Thank you and keep up the great shows
Most accurate tutorial and most simple. New subscriber here! Greetings from Philippines!
ОтветитьOf all the tutorial videos out there teaching landscape images, I gravitate back to your channel because of your well laid out format and easy to follow along and understand. Well done!! Oh, and thank you for you're time.
ОтветитьGary I noticed that your camera has a histogram that can come up in Live View and or ViewFinder to help you manage exposure settings. Since I'm in the market for a new camera, I want to make sure that I get that feature so I can utilize exposure as you recommend. Can you tell me what camera model you were using in the video or suggest other models that have the built in Histogram that comes up when you are viewing. Thanks so much for any suggestions.
ОтветитьA very detailed guide sir, thank you
ОтветитьIt's Beautiful. Quick question: I should take all the shots from the same spot I'm standing or I can move a little and take photos? Please let me know.
ОтветитьThanks for your time and effort towards this video, However, we who claim to understand parallax error in the terms known to science and photographers alike will just have to trust ourselves and seek to confirm and elaborate our own knowledge by going somewhere else for a truly 'complete' guide to panoramic photography.
Ответитьwhat about parallax dont you use a nodal slider
ОтветитьVery nice- also adjust the camera back to avoid parallax errors. Lock the mirror as well. Many like to point the meter at the sky to get a better exposure. I also look at the histogram. I make sure each pic has the same exposure value. I'll have to try F11- always thought F8 was the sharpest setting. I also do 10-15 image panos. Any reason you only do 5?
Ответитьwhen adjusting exposure based on the histogram, it will be based on one shot only, as you rotate things will change, let's say as you rotate sun will become in your frame, how should one handle that?
ОтветитьYOu did not mention the parallasse issue
ОтветитьBrilliant advice, many thanks for effort & sharing. Take care :-)
ОтветитьHi Gary, what Plano mount/rotator were you using on this video? Thanks!
Ответитьits 2021 and i am starting to do panoramas. i noticed during this video the camera seems to be tilted down slightly; that is the top part of the camera is not perpindicular or 90 degrees. I dont know if this make a difference in the shots, or if he was slightly higher than the shot he was seeking. Also it woud have been nice to see in degrees how he overlapped the shots. Most dont have click stop tripods which i assume is more expensive and more weight, but we do have degrees markings on the tripod, the head or both. Using degrees probably promotes more precision than eyeballing the overlap.
ОтветитьThanks Gary, amazing stuff. All the best.
ОтветитьStunning tutorial so much simplified and elaborate step by step. I shall make a notes of this and practice Gary. Thank you.
ОтветитьDreat video.thank you
ОтветитьHi Gary, thank you for all your helpful videos.
May I ask what tripod head you are using please ?
Many thanks.
amazing information thanks a loooot❤👍👍👍👍😊
ОтветитьExcellent tutorial! Choice of focal length i.e. don’t use extreme wide angle was probably the only thing missing apart from switching off IS/IBIS. I have experienced the pain with the last point of your video: pano-stitching with waves. I have been looking for help/tutorials with this and was wondering if you could point me in the right direction? - Thanks.
ОтветитьHello sir, its a great tutorial for panarama. May i know which lense you are using for this panorama shoot?
ОтветитьGreat video and what a teacher. Thank you for the clarity in which you explain things.
ОтветитьThank you for sharing Gary, always work the way you say..
Ответитьgreat tutorial. I have a question is it not better to use a nodal slider? do you ever use one? also if you want to do a multiple row panorama can you do it with a
1 a nodal slider 2 a gymbal head or a panorama head. Or can you don a multiple pano just using a tripod head.
Hi Gary, What's the story with these nodal points in pano shots that some photogs go on about?
ОтветитьYour not aligning the nodal point?
ОтветитьBeautiful Presentation Gary. Best explained and in turn, you made it look sooooo easy
ОтветитьThank you so much for the video. Regards from Brazil
ОтветитьThank you for these clear explainations.
But what about the nodal point setting ?
In which case would it be a problem ?
Very detailed and informative!
Thank you!
Very informative vid! Oh by the way ISO is pronounced EYESO not EyEssOh. It's a word (derived from the Greek word isos, which basically means equal) NOT an acronym/initialization :) A common misconception because so many people mispronounce it, so do your bit as an educator and start pronouncing it correctly ;)
ОтветитьBy far the best video on panoramas. I enjoyed your step by step presentation. I've just subscribed. Thank you.
ОтветитьGreat tut Gary.. always relevant.
Ответитьyou are the best tutor so far, simple easy and neat
ОтветитьBrilliant thankyou.
ОтветитьHi Gary, when doing these panorama shots would a higher f-stop, save f-16 or f-22, be better or worse?
ОтветитьExcellent video. Surprised you did not use an L-bracket and mount to get your axis centered.
ОтветитьYour guide was very helpful thank you very much.
