Great video!
ОтветитьTo be fair, dwarves and dark elves don't really need much of a reason beside greed to go somewhere.
There are always more treasures to get, artefacts to optain and well in case of dark elves... more slaves to enslave. Work ain't working itself, you know.
Hey, just stumbled across this. Are you rewarded for bringing units of the same theme or is it just everything Cities of Sigmar goes?
ОтветитьJust started Warcry and in progress painting all the terrain, your channel been my 1st source for Warcry related guides and news!
ОтветитьAwesome video! Just stumbled upon your channel and watching through some older posts!
I'm working on a CoS Warband right now that follows through on a lot of what you discussed!
I briefly played WHFB about 13 years ago, and always really wanted a Wood Elf army though never had the money or time to make it happen.
I started playing Warcry last summer, as it is the game I always wanted WHFB/AoS to be; skirmish-scale, with the ability to play lots of factions and deep dive on you group of 6 to 15 miniatures instead of batch painting dozens or hundreds of nameless, plain old troops. When they released the book, I thought I could make a really cool, personalized Warband with a lot of conversions to give me the chance to finally make my Wood Elves dreams come true,
I was able to get my hands on a partially built box of vintage Glade Guard! I am building 6 of those to use as regular crossbowmen. With the bits extra bits, I also just finished two Assassin proxies (Glade Guard hoods, swords, and capes on Witch Aelves bodies) and will be kitbashing a battle wizard with a few pieces as well so he has a sword, hood, and more woodsy staff. I also picked up Wildwood Rangers to use as is, and will be building a few of them with the spear option with hooded heads and no shields to proxy as regular spearmen. I hope to pick up one of the mounted Aelf units eventually, but plenty to work on with this list!
With this group of models, I can play a variety of styles with a multiple leader and hero options! Very happy, as you said a few times, to be able to make sensible proxies and to get to really dive in and play through a narrative with a one of a kind Warband!
These are not as expensive as I expected. A low variety Warband for £40 is pretty good. I'm fancying the Freeguild or the Greywater.
ОтветитьThis is awesome Lee! Deep dives are much appreciated.
As a casual player my first port of call would be the Fighters and their point tallies. Then I'd look at Abilities. This way I can visualise my Warband and start to order AoS boxes or do an eBay deep dive for no-excess purchases.
1st : even If have the book, I didn't really look at the Cities of Sigmar Warband, since I don't have it. I had noticed somethings though like :
quad ability of Hammerhall's leader is pretty insane
after your review, also :
Quad ability of Hallowhearts by anyone but a leader doesn't seem so I think, but looks pretty pretty broken : a wild dice PER 4+ holy hell.
Don't forget that you can bring a leader from any warband in anywarband. A battlemage (or Kharadron Overlords' Aetheric Navigator) in a Stormcast Eternals (or any warband, really) could really change A LOT of things
Also, don't forget the update ( I know TSG did it before so it doesn't matter to him) : leaders are not visible to themselves (unfortunately).
And for tournaments, obviously it has to be GW, unless your Tournament Organizer says otherwise
Another fascinating video Lee full up with great tips and ideas of how to go about selecting, picking and putting together so many varied models. Many thanks for everything that you do, to make this hobby really interesting. As always, much appreciated.
ОтветитьNice! Such a massive faction, options-wise. Good to see you helping folks make sense of it.
ОтветитьGreat video, as always!
ОтветитьThanks mate!
ОтветитьGreat job Lee!
