Saint John or Fredericton?! Which do you prefer and WHY!?
ОтветитьI find Saint John has more of a Hamilton vibe than Fredericton. I got to visit Kings Landing when it warms up when I'm there next but it reminds me of Black Creek Pioneer Village that's by York University in Toronto.
ОтветитьFredericton is the Portlandia of NB. It is the place where people who weren't the first to have grommets, or dress like a bunny with a Dora backpack go to stand out. It is a great place to come see BLM posters long after the organizers have been indicted. Just be careful, they have been experimenting with novel traffic strategies for decades. Just take it easy and follow the signs, one of which should "You can't get there from here". I once came in on the main road, hit road construction, and there was a detour sign that went to a dead end. When I asked the road crew for directions none of them drove cars.
ОтветитьThinking about moving to Fredericton. Thanks for making this.
Ответитьim not a fan of new brusnwick mainly cause of the weather, that might just be because im at gaegtown military base and whenever its bad weather i feel it bad, usualy because im out there rolling around in the mud freezing cold or on the verge of collapse in the heat.
ОтветитьIt was a nice city, but now it's full of crackheads and thieves and ridiculously high rent
ОтветитьI live in Fredericton its da best
ОтветитьBeing from Niagara Falls, I have spent tonnes of time in The Hammer! I think a lot of cities in New Brunswick are like Hamilton.
ОтветитьThis is why we have so many in our quiet city. Growing fast. Personally makes me sad. I didn't want the extra traffic of those who can't drive. Also I just miss when the city never had 200 000 plus ppl. I wish this secret of how great the city is. Could stay a secret.
ОтветитьFredericton is a BEAUTIFUL city but the people and their attitudes are not always it. When I go to Saint John it’s like a breath of fresh air, everyone is so kind and warm. Fredericton is notorious within New Brunswick for bad attitudes. I’m happy more people from different provinces have moved in though because they’re all so kind and it’s slowly getting better and more kind.
ОтветитьI think Saint John is one of the most underrated cities in Canada. I've lost count of the amount of people who told me to stay clear of Saint John over the past decade. me and my wife have been there about 10 times since then and had an absolute blast. It has the look of a city that should be at least three times larger in population size; it's very deceiving. Like you look at the population, and it doesn't match with the architecture and layout of the city itself. Whereas Moncton feels like a town that got too big for itself.
I like F-town, but for visiting, i prefer Saint John NB.
I live in Fredericton and just had this video come up in my recommendations. Thank you for bringing attention to our downtown!
With August upon us, if you don't have other plans, I would highly recommend finding out where your nearest Acadian Day (Aug 15) celebrations are happening. If you're up for a drive, the Acadian Village (similar to King's Landing) is in Caraquet, and you can ask the locals about the deportation of the Acadians in the 1700s.
Loved how you presented Fredricton.
ОтветитьI lived in Fredericton in the early 90’s while serving in the military and loved the trail along the river. I’m surprised that you didn’t show it! Odel park is also nice for long walks in the woods.
ОтветитьUmm..Hamilton is the armpit of Ontario.
ОтветитьWish I had known about the suites. Decided to watch the video while in Fredericton. Well... At least I know for next time. Great video.
ОтветитьSweet videos! Love the vibe
ОтветитьSt John is great Moncton is a shit hoke with drug additcs
ОтветитьDude, I was born in Hamilton!!! Steeltown, baby! (Actually I lived in Cayuga 71 to 81) but we did all our shopping in Ham.
I don't think I can draw a comparison between Ham and Fred. But I'll give it further thought.
I'm the Organist and Director of Music at Christ Church Cathedral and an extremely active musician in NB. Next time you come back come for a tour of the Cathedral and my recommends of other places to explore. That being said, you're totally on the right track! So glad one of your vids popped into my feed today! CHEERS!
😊😊
ОтветитьHey I m living now in Québec, my husband on fredy so I was looking for more informations about this city to preparing me for this big move we gonna do this summer to join my husband there..really look small but quiet calm and warm for a family with children 😊like it
ОтветитьI'm in love about Fredericton, wanna Go to College there, but what worries me is the fact that there is not options of apartamento for rent pet friendly, and leave behind my dog/son it's not an option :(
ОтветитьDid you end up moving to Fredericton? I grew up in Central Greenwich and went to high school and college in Saint John. I'm still quite new to Fredericton as a university student. It's a beautiful town.
ОтветитьSaint John
ОтветитьBeen there for a short business trip. Small little city but very sweet.
ОтветитьPremiere suites is a rip off
ОтветитьI was born in New Brunswick, and from age of 10 onward was raised in Victoria, B.C. I have also lived in Hamilton, Ontario for 13 yrs and then moved to Moncton, N.B. I would have to say Fredericton does not look similar to Hamilton, but does remind me of Victoria, BC in many ways. Of the Three cities Fredericton, Moncton and Saint John, I do prefer Fredericton. Saint John and Fredericton both have very steep streets to walk up, and Moncton would be easiest for walking in as it is more flat compared to both of those cities.
ОтветитьI didn't know about Premier Suites....interesting.
ОтветитьThanks so much for this video, so informative. I moved to New Brunswick earlier this year from Barrie Ontario and I watched your videos before making the final decision,! Do you know of any vegan restaurants in St. John or Fredericton? I am planning a visit too both places. Thanks again for the great videos
Ответитьis it flatter than st john? I'm tired of the climbs hehehe😅
ОтветитьI'm thinking to move to fredirecton I hope I can find my way
ОтветитьPls visit New Brunswick's. Black History Society @Brunswick Square 2nd floor.
ОтветитьHey love, tried to send you a lil' sumtin' sumtin for dem coffees but I kept getting declined from cc and google. My info is up to date, not sure if the payment provider is having some issues from their end? Don't want to stress ya, just sharing the info in case there is an issue, I wouldn't want you missing out on community support <3
ОтветитьI love the way you interview "the people".
ОтветитьVery nice video.
ОтветитьIf only Fredericton had decent walk in clinics let alone ones you can actually call and are actually open, and better access to primary health care and a more milder winters, I would consider it, but it is in the middle of nowhere and only close to Saint John plus a terrible location to be for frequent international flyers..
ОтветитьWe moved from Niagara Falls to Freddy in May and we love it here! I grew up in Portland, Oregon and Freddy reminds me a lot of a smaller Portland. The vibe here is incredible and we notice we spend way more time outdoors here then we did in Niagara.
Regarding the hills vs flat thing, our neighbourhood just past UNB is very hilly so I usually walk my bike back up the last part to the house, but I can bike downtown no problem.
Never been to the muse, I’ll have to check them out!
I’m
Not a city person prefer small towns or living out in the country
Fredericton dt is better than Hamilton dt
ОтветитьThanks for visiting! :)
ОтветитьWow, great vlog. Fredericton is beautiful. Loved all of it. Those suites look like a nice place for an apartment style stay. I love your content bro.
ОтветитьMuch better climate in Fredericton, but lacks certain services that are found in SJ and Moncton.
ОтветитьYes , riding a bicycle would be easier in Fredericton, it is a lovely town. I still love Saint John. I really don't think one is better than other, pros and cons to both and the good patr is they are so close you can enjoy them both.
ОтветитьJust gotta say Freddy is better 😋
ОтветитьGreat vid! We are from Saint John and went to the tipsy muse and Naru just today! Thanks for the recommendations, they were delicious!
ОтветитьMy last time in Fredricton was about 40 years ago, I was born in Hamilton, lived there many years. I found Freddy at that time to be cleaner without all of the truck traffic, tall buildings and industrial infrastucture that is Hamilton. Hamilton at that time however was a much greener city with many mature trees in the older neighbourhoods. I can see a big difference now in Fredricton. Such a coincedence that I will be travelling there for a couple of days this coming week. The tribe looks healthy and happy, thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьWe left Ontario and moved to NB a year ago. We were living in Stoney Creek/Hamilton and now live 40 mins from Fredericton but haven't spent enough time in the city to see the similarities between the two and have only visited St. John once so can't pick between the two. 🙂
ОтветитьIm 50/50 after living in both cities. each has its pros and cons. I personally prefer SJ, because I grew up here.
ОтветитьWe live in the fredericton area and it all remindes me of a mini ontario town from the early 90s
ОтветитьYes, fantastic job of capturing some Fredericton vibe. one thing that struck me was the "amabassdors" you spoke with all were radiating kindness and what felt like genuine warmth for their city. Thanks for the couch vacation:)
