It was cut. It went out live, of course, but when it was uploaded this joke was removed. I procured the live broadcast from someone who was prescient enough to save it. Sorry if I made it unclear about when it was cut.

I can't tell if the joke about his brother in northern Canada was about the irony of Norm venturing the carnage of the attack in vain simply not knowing his brother had just happened to be in a different country, OR that 9/11 was so horribly violent of a cataclysm that his brothers remains were discovered in northern Canada despite having been in the towers when the attack happened. This is probably one of my favorite jokes of all time lol

For people who don’t know or aren’t Americans - it’s even funnier because trade center had north and south tower, so when he begins with “He was in Northern…” you think he will say tower, but he completely throws you off with “Canada” lol, truly the master, rest in peace norm you will not be forgotten

The punchline isn't "911 airlines", the punchline is everything he said after that, including ribbing Adam for laughing.

Reminds me of the joke on Curb Your Enthusiasm about Larry David meeting a guy who told people his brother (I think) died on 9/11. When asked to elaborate, he said he was hit by a bike messenger on the Upper West Side.

I don't think it was cut for being offensive, I think it was cut because even Norm couldn't sell that turkey. If you're gonna work edgy, you either have to be telling top flight bangers or know your audience well enough to know their lines are. Floating an air biscuit writers room gag with no read on the audience is not a Norm quality move. Even his dumb jokes were smart.
